Shouldn't Freddy have Dream Pallets by default?
Would Dream Pallets by default really make Freddy that much higher in the tiers? I mean even his basic description on the DBD website says he can create Dream Pallets.. That is the only character they mention doing something he can't actually do by default. Those require an add-on from what I remember. Kind of misleading...
Says it right there.
Imagine being a new player. You'd have no idea how to make these "Dream Pallets" they speak of.

I feel like most people would see this as a nerf, lol. Also, dream pallets require pretty easy to obtain addons. Any newbie playing Freddy for the first time is going to see the dream pallet addons, unless they decided to play him without lvling his bloodweb AT ALL, or reading his in-game skill description, or doing basically any out of game reading...besides that description you referenced.
So... I feel like the only thing that should be changed is maybe the description you saw.

I assume most brand new people have no idea what the Bloodwebs even do and therefore wouldn't level anything hence them being brand new to the game. Is that a joke btw? :P I ask because I fail to see how him having Dream Pallets by default would nerf him in any way.

I don't see how having both powers at once would ever be considered a nerf? Sure dream pallets aren't great but if you could use both at the same time they would see more use
5 -
I feel like maybe I misunderstood something. Your asking for BOTH abilities? I assumed you meant to just switch which ability was the addon, hence me calling it a nerf.
4 -
Ah I see. Yes I think he should have both. I see no harm in it honestly. So I think what they wrote on the website SHOULD MOST CERTAINLY be the Freddy play style by default. (no add-ons required)

I’d be fine with him having both of dream pallets weren’t affected by Windows, By Any Means Necessary or Smash Hit. Like if they didn’t create an aura for those perks sure why not.
2 -
i think both should be in his basekit yes, it'll help bring his power level up at least a tiny bit since he has more to do in chases. along with being more fun to play. it should work the same way aswell too, where if your able to place a dream pallet, just press M2. if you wanna drop a snare, just do the normal thing with M2. they really shouldn't collide with each other in chases nor anywhere else.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully they hear us. Freddy really doesn't see play these days.. Would be nice if he got this slight addition to his base power.
1 -
Not, it ain't even close to what he needs.

Feel like Freddy's blindness addons would see some use

I don’t think those oblivious add-ons are good because you can still hear his lullaby. Tbf though oblivious doesn’t seem to block any killer’s lullaby.

I think having both snares and dream pallets would up his unpredictability, which is definitely a good thing! I don't pretend to know whether it would make him a bit stronger or not, mechanic-wise, but I'll take anything for Freddy at this point. Unless it's another complete rework, please no. X3

You miss read. I said blindness, not oblivious. Sheep block for example causes blindness, which blocks survivor aura reading. This would allow Freddy to counter perks like WOO after a survivor walks through his snares.

Not a bad idea actually. Anything for Freddy would be a godsend at this point..

The Sheep Block already feels like one of Freddy's better addons, which given how rarely I see other killers run blindness-inflicting addons, that really says something about the state of this poor man's addons right now.
I'd love to see Freddy get some significant upgrades, but even tiny adjustments like the one offered in this discussion almost feels like getting your hopes up too high. Though I think maybe Freddy was sort of doomed the moment they chose to bring in the 2010 version rather than the original. Could you imagine Rob Zombie's version of Michael Myers in Dead by Daylight? Like people not into horror don't confuse the poor guy with Jason Voorhees enough already.

I just wish Freddy had both so his pallet add ons could be something unique
3 -
He definitely should. And I was one of those noobs who played him and thought “where the hell are my dream pallets?
5 -
Then you would be able to tell what pallets are fake almost instantly, they SHOULD light up like normal pallets
1 -
Lmao.. They lied to you.. I'm so sorry.. xD

Should killer powers not have counters..?
0 -
That is a bit too much of a counter though I think.
1 -
But it isnt too much of a counter to those perks I’ve named that highlight dream pallets along with real pallets, correct?
0 -
Would have to test it honestly.

BHVR has stated they don't want Perks to counter powers directly....
Then again adrenaline still wakes you up against the nightmare
2 -
Make it 2% and you've got a deal!

I would be happier, if instead of 3 bad abilities (teleport, snares and pallets) he had 1 decent ability.
But that is not going to happen. So yeah, why not? He is so pathetic that it really couldn't hurt.

Sure, but I don't thematics should decide balance ⚖️
1 -
I think it would be cool if he had the flexibility to do both as long as it comes out of the same resource pool. I don't think it would effect game balance much anyway.
2 -
2.2%..final offer.

the real question is "why freddy after the massive nerf to the snares , is still not allowed to have dream pallets by default?🙄
1 -
Maybe we can change that! :D
0 -
why not make it similar to the doctor? the pallets still light up with auras via perks, BUT, you can tell if its fake because of bits and pieces of the broken pallet laying on the floor. this is what i mean
it provides decent counterplay if you know what your doing

Not ones that completely shut down their power, and especially not with a meta perk. A killer power making a perk less useful is not the same as a perk making a power unusable.
That's one of the reason the old Freddy was so bad was because Self-Care was meta and hard countered him.
