So when is the anti-camping thing happening
I know someone will say "how can you prevent killers from camping" simple just have it so they can't use their power or have it be if their camping aka standing still for way to long if they hit someone rescuing the get a longer hit cool down as punishment for camping. Now I know there's going to be "Well camping is a very hard thing to do or simply it's a strategic thing to do" your saying standing still waiting for someone to die on hook is strategic...how? I even tried camping and I don't get the fun in it? How is it fun camping your just standing their doing nothing I know some people will say well doing gens isn't fun at least when your doing gens there's some kind of pressure having to be aware of your surroundings and such. I don't know if the anti-camping thing will ever happen but I would want BHVR to at least test it they did it with anti-slugging and tunneling(even though it's live it barely helps) why not camping.

Just say what you mean: "Nerf killers, please."
That is what it will come down to. They will not go the route you suggested because that would be highly abusable and problematic on some maps.
It will come eventually but until then you have a guaranteed exchange when someone comes to rescue you. As long as it's not a Bubba...

Glad to see the forums is still full of killer mains.
I just came back after almost a year break to see if the game improved. I was face camped by a bubba 2 games in.
Killers should be nerfed, the killrate was 65% when I left and it has only gone up as far as I can see. Why anyone plays survivor right now is beyond me. The solo experience is all but dead.

BHVR's idea I think is superior to this. If the killer is around the survivor too long (with staggered increases based on how close), the survivor on the hook can freely escape.

I took a year break too and after playing last few weeks I just think playing dirty is way too rewarding against solos, they made some weird choice after 6.1. It's fine to buff killers but tunneling is a bit easy now, I don't know why DS is still at 3sec (2 with animation), I used it against a nurse she got me 2 seconds later with one blink, it's pitiful..
I say game would be fine if hard tunneling was more punishing, some survivor things probably need a nerf to compensate like toolboxes, I don't see anyone talking about it but they are insane if you bring multiple ones

But when is the anti-camp mechanic coming? (Get those 10 games going.)
2 -
If you mean what they do for Singularity I do find that valid but I think when it comes to that is that Signularity can simply be on one side of the map and camp while other killers just stand there.

I don’t know why I bother with solo survivor these days either. Probably because I wanna have fun with plot twist because it’s been a blast to use but killers that camp and ruin the experience really make me wanna exit the game.

Every time someone says they’re gonna facecamp I’m gonna do 20 games of Blast Mine, Head On, Made for This, and Boil Over.

No, what I mean is they announced an anti-camp mechanic they are working on (announcement during the 2023 livestream, date they are going to try it is unknown). The rough basics as outlined were that when a survivor is hooked they get a meter, the closer the killer is to the hook, the faster the meter fills. Once filled, the survivor can get a guaranteed self unhook, even during second stage.
I'm not saying it's going to create a utopia, but its something I'm looking forward to seeing be tried.

Ironic how your comment got 6 upvotes, but the thread still sits at 0.
Almost like one thing has nothing to do with the other.
The vast majority of the forum users play both sides, btw.

Re: standing still can't be strategic
You have a generator 95% done. A survivor is on the hook nearby, halfway on his hook stage. Every other survivor is injured.
What is the right play here?

"wah wah forum killer sided"
*proceeds to get the most upvotes in the thread with a survivor sided opinion*

They got a lot of up votes because none of the stuff they said was wrong lol.

- Revs up the eternal "other side bad"
- Provides annecdotal evidence for his poor gameplay experiences
- Brings the killrate argument as if it accounted for higher levels of MMR
Wow, so true bestie.

Kick the gen and Proxy camp
Scout out the immediate vicinity for any survivors attemping a risky injured rescue, they happen. Widen your search area. On most map layouts you can get to 20-30 metres away without giving up hook advantage, and be able to spot a survivor approaching. You can still reach them by the time the make the save and secure at trade.
At no point is standing still within 16m of the hook the best option. That's just going to force survivors away to regroup, when what you want is to create an opening to bait a risky rescue.

No? Mmhhh devs made the one killer buff patch in history (that even our grandchildren will talk about), because the kill rate was below 60%. So the statement is kinda wrong. Also survivors got the HUD, removed hook grabbing, basekit BT and soon the anti camp mechanic. So again, the statement of no one wanting to play survivor (when killer bonus is at 100%) is also simply wrong.
But yeah, lets keep this "us vs them" as everyone seems to love it.

I don't think what OP meant was literal sitting on one place. Just a regular exaggeration.

" your saying standing still waiting for someone to die on hook is strategic...how?"
just gonna assume you actually asked this.
sometimes you simply gotta make sure someone dies. simple as that.
sometimes you gotta make sure a gen regresses and you hook someone next to it.
sometimes survivors just stay around the hook.

This will never be implemented. Much like basekit Unbreakable. The PTB will come. SWFs will find a way to abuse it. The killer mains will flood these forums with countless threads and it will get cancelled. So I wouldn't hold out hope for this at all.

Every time someone says they are gonna play 20 games with Blast Mine, Head On, Mft, and Boil Over, I will play Blight with Alchemist Ring, C33 and tunnel someone out at 5 gens.

Every time you tunnel someone out at 5 gens with alchemist ring blight I will bring an entire SWF bully squad and do nothing BUT punish the killer (75 times in a row!)

Might be an unpopular opinion but I feel like there shouldn't be an anti-camping mechanic that e.g., lets a survivor unhook themselves. It sounds too free - sometimes killers do need to apply pressure!
Now that hook grabs are gone, it's very easy to unhook someone by yourself whilst others rush gens - except vs bubba of course. If you have to trade, good, if they get tunneld, fair play I suppose. Get back on a gen and hopefully the 10s built-in BT helps them, or their anti-tunnel perk.
1 -
There is no anti-tunnel perk. And you’re joking about the 10 seconds helping them, right?
0 -
Ok, you don't have to call them anti-tunnel perks but perks like Off The Record, DS and DH are good anti-tunnel - especially when combined. Of course reassurance is good if you know someone is going to be tunneld off hook.
10s and the haste can help a survivor reach a window, pallet or give enough time for other survivors to start bodyblocking the killer. So it does help, sometimes a lot. Killers used to be able to just facecamp and insta hit you the millisecond you got unhooked, remember.
I'm just afraid of this game becoming too easy - everything given to you. I really like the 10s base-kit BT, and UI changes letting you know who's on gens etc. I'm unsure about the grab change - but it's live. But now a possible self-unhook option? I'd rather the devs implement good matchmaking - where survivors rush gens if someone is camped or get a save with some team effort or bodyblocks for that person, if necessary.

Grabs have always been intended to favor survivors (they didn’t) because they’re latency-based. Just like hits favor killers. That basically means if it looks like a survivor on their screen let go before they were grabbed, the game honors that experience over what the killer sees on their screen (which may be them grabbing the survivor due to again latency). And the inverse is true of hits; like if it looks like a killer on their screen hits a survivor, the game honors that hit even if the survivor sees that they cleared the window or whatever, the killer missed.

They just need to make all hooks work like cages of atonement. Survivor is hooked - hook moves to a random place on the map.
Killer cannot instantly camp as they have to travel across the map to get to the hook.
Survivors can also not just just hand around the hook swapping each other out and cannot rescue in the killers face (a premise I don't understand anyway).
Cage of Atonement itself should be buffed to compensate.
