About the "fixed" fast vaults.
In their latest patch BHVR changed something about fast vaults. In the patch notes it said that survivors were not getting the extra distance for a fast vault compared to medium and slow vaults. If that was an issue, then it's good that they fixed it. I didn't witness any problems there, although admittedly I didn't play DBD for about 2 weeks.
However, many hits that I know I should get are not counted. I have seen it again and again. The survivor goes for a fast vault and they become unhittable. Even if they are still on the same side of the window as the killer. I reckon that might have something to do with the survivor vaulting way faster than their actual animation. This also results in the survivor skipping frames while vaulting a window. Something definitely feels off about this.
I haven't seen any posts about this yet, so I'm not quite sure if it's just me because fast vaults also look janky right now. Have you experienced this too?

Yeah i dont get it. We are running up to a window and i know they dont get it even with a fast vault so i swing at their back as they go to jump over. And they just skip forward and run away. Sometimes my hit phasing. Resilence makes it look even worse from survivor perspective.

fast vaults are suppose to keep momentum meaning that once a survivor completes fast-vault, they are out of the range of an m1 swing but medium vaults do not keep momentum meaning that the killer can still hit the survivor on the other side of the vault after completing the medium vault. you need walk like 0.5 second away from window to not get hit. apparently somewhere down the line, they bugged the momentum on fast vaults and nobody noticed.

We all know how it should work and that's not the issue. The issue is that survivors can't be hit DURING the animation. And even if you didn't experience that, you have probably seen that the animations are off. I'm pretty sure they broke something here.

The problem though is that you can’t hit them even if they are still mid vault. It’s like as soon as their body crosses over the window, the swing will hit the window instead even though they are technically still in range.

it feels fine for me, I only played killer but I got way less hits over windows I would have gotten (but shouldn't have) before the update.
However, and maybe it's totally unrelated, but I hit a Nea while she vaulted and we both got stuck there. I was unstuck when she DCed and the hit turned into a grab, it was weird.

i think this is latency. it is what happens with wesker's virulent bounds where you used to grab survivors on the other side of the vault. the survivor on their screen is already on other side but you as killer have latency and see them on other side a lot later.

Possible. But this would still assume they changed how hit validation works. Because before this patch latency favored the killer overall. Something like that wasn't mentioned in the patch notes though.
I am just trying to make sense of what happened here.

That would make sense, but even as survivor I feel like I’m not being hit even when I should be.

High ping killer is still smacking you across shack vault it just makes low ping killers not get hits they would before

Then it couldn't be a latency issue. Thanks for confirming that.
But when we have so little to go by it's kind of hard to figure out what is actually going on.

I havent got problems hitting people yet soo, idk really.
they feel okay IMO. but i will check that by doing swings a bit late if those I-frames are the case.
but so far is more likely that people got used to the broken vaults for a while and when they got fixed they are now having troubles with timing their lunges and distance to get a hit when a survivor does a fast vault.

Survivors now go further past the vault, but in the same time period? The animation looks really buggy they sort of warp to the other side of vault

bascially now unless you're a ranged killer and they fast vault just know they're invincible halfway through it lol i think the devs should revert this until they fix fast vaults in general (people are getting fast vaults at the dumbest angles, speed, and while theyre kissing the vault)

Maybe. But it happens so often and sometimes in such obvious situations that I have my doubts.
My theory is that the survivor character model does not match the actual hitbox at the moment they fast vault. It's like the game progresses the animation just as before the bug fix and when the animation is almost done it overcompensates to create the extra distance, while the actual hitbox moves continuously. This results in the survivor skipping frames and explains the janky vault animations and hits.
But of course that is only a theory and I don't have a way to confirm that.

I hope they fixed this bug real soon. Cause it definitely feels a bit more harder to catch up. Sorry to sound off topic but when survivors use Made For This also. Which makes it even more a pain to catch them while gens still fly at least from my experience.

It's not a bug. The bug was apparently fast vaults only getting medium vault distance, which they have now fixed.

They fixed the bug but didnt adjust it to the correct distance. So its still bugged but on the other side. I really dont understand how can this be messed up.
Do they not know exact distance it has to be even tho it was in game for years? Did they not found the hand written memo on some paper where it was written ?
How can you not do this right, what even changed that made distance on vaults different?

Oh I didn’t know that, I must of overlooked it in the patch notes. I tend to overlook things sometimes lol. But thank you for the information,I appreciate it.
