Why do Doctors swing so early?

Member Posts: 1,243

There's this whole concept of doctor players swinging early and because of this often missing the hit.

I found myself doing this too sometimes and I dont know why because I dont have the problem of swinging early on other killers, like Knight or Dredge.

Is it the pov tricking you that you are closer to the survivor than you actually are?I'll pay more attention from now on when playing this killer to see what exactly causes that at least for me.

same here. when i used to play him i use to swing early alot it would seem. it also feels his lunge range is shorter than normal killers tho for me.

I always swing too early when I play him (even more so when I haven't in a while), his lunge feels shorter idk if it's because of the pov or what else though

My theory is that his weapon is held at an angle that makes it seem closer to the survivor than others, which messes with your perception of distance.

I hope they changes this, because when you're in the middle of a chase sometimes you lose track of that and you miss the hit, epsecially with survivors now running mft and the new hit validation that makes it harder to hit survivors that vault or use a pallet.

I thought it was because of using monitor and abuse but you are right it's a general thing.

I feel similar when playing freddy. I put it down to them having different ranges but this must be wrong. When playing knight they feel really slow but lunge a long way. This game is strange.

Not really that but I feel like I get way more phantom hits with him than with other Killers. You know.. when it does a quick attack even though you were holding M1 for a lunge attack.

But not related, I feel like Wesker has gotten a longer lunge than normal.

Yeah, its very weird but can someone from BHVR confirm that the Doctor indeed suffers from something that makes him look like his lunge is shorter than usual?

Maybe because of his madness power things dont seem as they are, it would be a nice canon reason for his lore

In general, I find some killer's lunges shorter than they should be. Either that or the server is screwing me over.
