Right now we have 3 cosmetic loadout slots. What if the slots were changed from 1, 2, 3 to Dark, Bright, Indoor?
If the realm has a very dark palette or takes place at night, the game will load the cosmetics in the Dark slot for all players. Lighter maps use the Bright slot. Indoor maps... obvious.
