Devs - Is this bannable?

On reddit someone posted a video of a pinhead hooking two survivors on the game map and then body blocking two other survivors from exiting the bathroom with the single gen that only has one exit when the gen is not completed. The gen didn't have enough progress for a survivor to work on it to open the side door for them to try and get the save. So the survivors were stuck in there and unable to get a save in time because of the time it takes to complete a gen and the killer just stood there blocking the only exit. I think it's a smart way to play the game and to get two kills but would this get someone banned for doing that? I would be afraid to do this myself because I would be worried someone would send in their recording and send it over to BHVR support.

Here is a link that shows the video in question. I think the survivors played this very poorly and it's their fault being stuck in that room, but again - I would like to know if the Devs consider this as the bad type of body blocking.

It probably isn't since they don't consider body blocking a ban offense anyway. That's what they told me when I got body blocked by another survivor until killer came and downed me. Besides, those survivors could try to get that gen done and open the door.

I don't think so. If the survivor is ensured to die, then they won't be stuck forever like some types of bodyblocking. It's more a map issue than anything else.

Like the hook on the gallows in dead dawg, and the upstairs library on RPD, I think it would be up to the devs if they want to adjust the map.

No not bannable, not holding game hostage etc.

Thats just playing smart and outplaying them.

This is one of those things that is a fault of map design, kinda like when Coldwind's basement's entrance was narrow enough to bodyblock it. Doing so wasn't bannable, but they ultimately changed the map to prevent it, so maybe something needs to happen here as well.

It's always struck me as problematic that this room could be a death trap, and I suppose they thought that a killer can't hold you hostage here because you can repair the gen. I'm not sure if there is a solution, other than actually widening the doorway.

So is it not bannable to use an exploit to stop survivors from unhooking someone?

Also, can a dev please answer this. I appreciate the community telling me what they think, but I want to know for sure if it is or not. Just to make sure I'm not doing anything to cause a ban. Because if being able to block survivors that can't go around you from being able to unhook a survivor is not bannable, I want to know.

Technically he is blocking the only path out ( at that moment). But the survivors really didn't prove he was holding them hostage. If they had tried to get by him and he refused to hit them, it probably woulda been bannable then.

I would see it as no. It's a smart play on the killer side and a mistake on the survivors. The 2 hooked survivors will most likely die and the other 2 that are trapped can just repair the gen to open the door to get out. It's not holding the game hostage since the 2 survivors can break the hold and move on by just opening the door.

Oh wow, they really said that's okay for a survivor to do? That's disappointing because I would have thought for sure that kind of griefing would get someone banned.

I would call that a dickmove, but you do you I guess.

    @Topic:

Not bannable. The Survivors in the bathroom can even try to get out. Either they can repair the Gen or Pinhead hits them while they try to repair the Gen and then they lose collision and can escape the bathroom.

Honestly I'd report for not playing as intended. Not sure why the onus is on survivor to progress the game and not the killer who is right there.

I mean the killer is progressing the game, by preventing the survivors from saving their teammates.

I suppose I look at that room as a danger room, when I play survivor, I hate being in that room, cause I am shitting bricks the entire time.

Do you take the risk early to try and get it done while its safer to do so, or risk having to do it end game, where you might be in a nasty 3 gen? It's quite isolated, so takes the killer time to guard it, but if you're caught in there wounded, or against an expose/instant down killer, that was the risk you took trying to get that gen done...

This scenario is one where... tbh... the survivors gambled and lost really hard...

It would be funny if there was a really slow elevator in that room under the drop that you could hop on and start, going up there takes a good 25s, but any killer coming into that room would easily catch... but then you get into how do you pick up questions, and also blocking the drop questions xD

no, since the killer is using bodyblocking to progress their win condition (preventing survivors from being rescued advances their hook states)

i'd be heated if i was on that survivor team and i wouldn't personally do that as killer, but it's not bannable

Why would it be banable? Holding a survivor in place after EGC is not banable since there is a definitive end coming. This is a similar vein in that you can repair the gen and open more doors and leave OR killer has to hit you. The survivors are not being locked in a room with literally zero options except dcing to get out.

The killer cannot accomplish both keeping survivors locked in that room and also stop them from repairing the gen. The killer just played smart and took advantage of survivors putting the entire up and moving team members into a room with one exit and low gen progress.
