i just cant understand why nerf the iri addon of demo instead of alchemist ring
I cant understand why you chose to nerf the iri of demo nobody was asking for this in the other hand there are multiple addons like alchemist ring or tombstone that the community has been asking for their nerfs for years, please help me understand the logic behind your priorization system

The simple answer is some addons can be reworked quicker than others without factoring programming time, QA time etc. Simple changes can be done by the Design team with little to no resources from other teams. Larger changes made to addons (or anything else), requires substantially more resources which need to be factored in and slot into the production calendar.

Blight has been out for nearly 3 years at this point. Alchemist's Ring shouldn't take this long to rework.

bhvr doesnt have any priorization, neither have they any idea on what needs to be done and what not.

blight was released in september 2020, the last change of alchemist ring was in november of that year almost three years of the community asking for it to be nerfed.

Dont really get why nerf lichen.
Yes is a very good addon, but demo itself its not a problematic killer.

Can you at least nerf it so it only resets on Downs? this addon is outright stupid with how OP it is one an already powerful killer.

You do know it's very possible that Alchemist Ring isn't over performing and that's why it hasn't been touched. Plus I would say C33 is far stronger than Alchemist Ring.

Please do not go through with this bad stats nerf. Its even an Iri for goodness sake. Blight and Double Speed, C33, Alch Ring, Adren Vial, and the rest of their ilk don't overperform compared to each other, because they all overperform in general. Make Demo's other add-ons worth touching instead of nerfing a Killer on life-support into the ground.
Edit: Another reason anything of Demo could "overperform" is because no new players are getting to purchase and play him. The majority of the Demo playerbase is Demo mains, which means they are going to have far and above the Killer competency by virtue of maining him.

This add-on while yes it's really good, but it's an IRI add-on focused on giving player information. It's not extremely strong to the point where survivors are at massive disadvantage when a Demo player has this add-on in the trail. It's just a BBQ for teleports that can replace an information perk in player's build.
Other add-on changes are quite bad as well. Nobody cares if u will buff Unknowned Egg to have even 6sec cooldown reduction, nobody teleports as Demogorgon back and forth. This add-on is hot garbage.
Violet Waxcap is now 1sec instead of 0.5sec. It's still really bad. Why not make it so u gain Haste for 5sec? Why Dear's lungs still has massive disadvantage when the upside is not that strong? Why Barb's glasses and Black heart aren't partially base-kit?
So you guys nerfed his Iri add-on which nobody was complaining about and gave these awful changes to Demo, fairly balanced killer which half of his add-ons are garbage and only 3 effect his Shred, meanwhile we have Blight- a top tier killer who has 6 add-ons that are way stronger than Leprose Lichen... what a dissapointment

its a bad habit of behaviour nerfing the good addons and buffing the bad add-ons from useless to still useless, i wish there was and outrage like it happened with billy but this time alien is distracting the playerbase so demo has no chance of avoid it.

You aren't allowed to mention that. We can only balance for "casual" players when talking about survivors, but when we talk about blights that go on 1k win streaks, despite the fact that the "average" blight player ain't doing that blight needs a nerf. Don't you know the rules?

I agree, but I also feel like the bigger issue is that there is always very little (if any) communication from the devs. It feels like by not telling us any plans until they're about to be implemented they're allowing themselves to take it easy and not worry about glaring issues that need fixed.

I see your point. But with respect, why nerf this addon at all? It didn't need any changes from what we can see. It was good but definitely not unfair or overpowered. So, it seems like the ressources were spent on something that didn't need it to begin with.

My point is just because something should or shouldn't take long to rework, doesn't mean it isnt gona take long to rework. The example being DH.

Ok, this is actually valid. Knowing this forum I expected something like "DH was around for X years, so Alchemist Ring should be around for the same time".
You have a point, but I would say that Add Ons are easier to nerf than Perks. Especially on such a strong Killer like Blight. You can basically make Alchemist Ring the worst Add On in the game and it would still keep Blight viable. When you nerf a Perk on the other hand, it can still be too strong, perfect or too weak, which has a bigger impact than one single Add On. (Even tho, Blight has a bunch of Add Ons which deserve Nerfs)

Blight has been having broken collision issues for almost 3 years, because his he can only bump if he hits something between his shoulders and waist, and that still hasn't been fixed yet. BHVR should fix Blight's collision issues before nerfing his addons.

Depends on how they rework the add on. While number tweeks are [or should] be simple, alc ring does the whole thing of basically resetting the recharge as far as we can tell and isnt a simple number thing. Could go off on a tangent but we'd probably be goin off topic. Something more in line with the OP topic would be the anti-hemorrhagic syringe [frickin mouthful]. It took from until 3.3 [also years] for it to not be an instant healthy up.

Why nerf the addon at all?
It's a strong aura reading addon for a killer with subpar chase potential. It's good when they go for more chases. It's not even that good when compared to Plagues black incense or dredges lavelier microphone. Even on Demo there are better addons. Case and point : black heart and barbs glasses.
I dont get why this addon has to be nerfed at all.

Took them a year to make a single digit change of the mori from 1 hook state to 2. They're doing something very wrong when it always take them so long for even the most simple change expect BHVR to take years. It's just shameful.

The Plague addon requires survivors to be sick. The Demo addon instead was just a map wide aura read on demand. This nerf is leaving the addon in a good state, but now it has SOME requirement. You still get a map wide aura reading during the travel phase.

Nah. Not really. This addon is a pub stomper. In the highest level of play you won't see a Blight that runs this addon anymore. Because then it's all about that speed.
In a public game you are going to get a good amount of hits with your power and getting it back immediately is kind of ridiculous.

its in worse state then before it was buffed. the add-on used to work only when injured but they decided to buff it because demo player were not using his portals at all. in fact many player still do not use his portals because the reward is so bad for using them that this is only add-on that makes it rewarding to use portals. by weakening it, you remove reward for using his kit.

By industry standards, yeah it's pretty long and insane.
But BHVR has different standards. 3 years is not good enough to nerf Blight. Give them another 3 years and we can celebrate to Blight's nerfs.

First smart opinion I've heard about this nerf lol. Lot of people on this thread clearly havent come up against an iri demo.
I main demo and I agree with this nerf, the 3 second mapwide aura read was insane, particularly combined with the undetectable boost after portalling. It was always my fallback build if I'd had a few frustrating killer games, run iri demo and I was guarenteed a win. In the last 6 months i had a single 2k game with that build, the rest were all 3/4ks.

I think they can't nerf nurse or blight due to the comp scene. What other killer can handle comp matches than blight and nurse. Nerf them and there is no more comp.

I understand things take time, but it's been 3 years since blight came out. And this is the 3rd wave of Killer add-ons changes in a row with no Blight, even tho everyone has come to an agreement that his add-ons are a problem.
Add the community jokes about Blight favoritism by bhvr, just feels like the devs refuse to touch him at all.
Oh well... maybe next year.

In the highest levels of play (i.e. comp) you won't see that addon because they all know it's stupidly op, and it will never not be banned
"It's all about that speed" yeah, there's blighted crow for that. The value you get by using crow+ ring is much higher than crow+rat

Aura reading is the strongest type of tracking, and this addon has it map wide... One could make a very good argument that it's the best tracking tool in the game. I feel like the reason more ppl don't use it is due to not knowing it was changed and getting use to using the same brown and yellow addons every game.

@Mandy this would carry more weight, if this hadn't been a problem for so long. Find the resources to fix these wildly overpowered addons.

Might also be that most demo players are so experienced and simply dont use it because it makes the gamr very easy and boring. Personally I prefer to muck around with interesting builds. Only use the iri sweat build if I'm particularly fed up of survivors being trolls lol

The devs base their decisions on statistics. Doesn´t matter what i or you think about a perk or addon. They will change or not change it, only based on their data.
Just like it took years for them to nerf OoO, it will take them years to touch the Ring or MFT.
