Thoughts on Sadako?

I feel since her recent rework she has become a complete slog to face, specially on SoloQ, and its because of the same old style, focus on Condemn.

Condemn builds up a lot easier now, and she can just keep hitting people to make them drop tapes and build Condemn even more, without ever committing to a chase, which severely stalls the game due to people being too busy jumping from TV to TV.

Theres also the old Addon that was part of this playstyle, heal, and you get condemn.

Idk, it just feels really annoying to go against right now.

I knew the moment I read that she can teleport once per 15sec that gain stack map wide would be spam-able. The teleport is tough to balance though, since she has the most thing in her kit: stealth, teleport, slowdown, mori.

Mori should be only the reason why survivor should interact with her slowdown. Not her goal to build up. My idea is to nerf teleport and buff the slowdown.

    • She can only teleport once per min. All survivors gain 1 stacks.
    • Holding a tape should passive gaining stack, so survivors only get the tape when need to lose stacks, not to control TV.

The match would go like this:

3min: 2 survivors should go for the tape, since all of them have 3 stacks. If all of them wait for 5-6 stacks before going for the tape, there would not enough TVs for them.

5min: TVs are reset and other 2 survivors have 5 stacks now, they should go for the tape.

Then the slowdown will be repeated like that. Consistent.

I want to see her killrate right now, people are saying "she's just m1 killer" but she's way too oppressive teleport need a real COOLDOWN, and tvs are hard to find on some maps, played against one on swamp it was hell, make them visible like pig box

realistically in solo Q it's rare that 4 people can manage condemn, there's not enough time or tvs always one player is getting moried at 0 hook then it's gg

Her condemn is very good but it’s important it is because it makes up for the fact that she’s literally trash in every other possible aspect.

Overall I think she’s fine. I like how the condemn makes the match very different for both sides and it seems balanced by her being bad in everything else.

If they were to nerf her condemn she would need very significant buffs in other areas to compensate.

Typically the only time she blows out the survivors hard is if they are completely ignoring her TVs and not respecting her condemn. Which does happen a lot it’s true, but that’s not Sadako problems, that’s many players playing bad problems.

She is fine but its mostly a noobstomper.

Also a lot of people i faced play vs "old sadako" got hit inserting a type and get hitted again after picking one in my face, before you could put it.

You guys are getting matches against Sadako? I haven´t had a single match against her in over a week. Did i accidentaly turn facing her off or something?

You're not getting matches against her? I got her back to back even as killer.

    Because you play sadako?

No, really. I´ve had a ton of Singularities, Weskuh, Clowns, (must be the current rift) even Twins but no sadako.

I haven't been playing a ton of survivor over the past couple weeks because the incentive has be stuck on killer, in recent weeks when I have, there have been a lot of Sadakos. One night it was 5 of 6 matches that were new condemned Sadakos.

I think she is a pubstomper now, and even more than that. I have seen videos of her stomping even experienced SWFs. If the player is any good at all, the team needs to be really coordinated (of course RNG plays a role).

I don't have a main as killer, but I play a lot of Sadako (she is my highest prestige killer), and I have a pretty good command of her kit. I've never been one to chase condemnation (I'm happy to mori someone if they get condemned, but I've never gameplanned around it), but a week or two ago after facing a few of them, I decided to play a few games and actually go for it, just so I could see how easy it was to execute.

The results were all 4Ks, in none of the matches did all gens get completed. There were even a few games where I would say the team did exactly what they should have to counter (immediately grabbing tapes, putting them in VCRs at good times, etc.), and the only difference it made was the number of gens left when they were all dead.

Basically, if you can build any momentum at all (which can be easy if the survs don't find tapes immediately and you are running iri tape and mother's comb), it's exceedingly difficult for even good survs to stop the snowball.

Now, even in games where I don't even try that hard to get people condemned (and running my usual combo of two of bloody fingernails/well water/newspaper), people get condemned a lot more often (and condemned did need to be more of a factor).

I predict we'll see some of this walked back, and it should be. But I'm also afraid they'll just hard nerf her and leave her back on the garbage pile. She needed buffs, but not like this, or at least to this extent. It's sad because if people didn't play her just to maximize condemnation these changes would be fine, but people are gonna people.

I'd be happy if they scaled back some of the condemned buffs and enhanced her chase kit. She'd definitely be more fair and fun to face.

Powerful against dumb survivors who don't do tapes

Average against survivors smart enough to use tapes.

That the entire dichotomy in play. The survivors who think she is OP just aren't doing tapes. Literally tapes are deciding factor in how strong or weak she is. Which is actually very thematic for the character and I hope it stays like that this as it makes sense for her.

Generally, but it's not always that simple.

If you load into a game and near all your teammates and they grab all the tapes in the immediate vicinity and you have issues finding one, you're gonna be in a bad way if the Sadako is super aggressive. Plus if the Sadako is running mother's comb and is any good, taking a tape just puts a target on you and will get you condemned even faster. Even more if she is running the iri tape.

Like I said earlier, it helps, but you can do exactly what you should do versus her and still get totally rinsed. Grabbing a tape early is the right play, but by no means is it a guarantee of success.

15 seconds is a LONG time. She needs to teleport 10 full times before you are able to be condemned. That is a full 150 seconds. And she can't teleport for the first 30 seconds. You can't just spam teleport and expect to get someone without all the gens getting done. Personally when i go against her, i don't think i have lost a game yet in solo queue, except for maybe the first day when everyone was figuring out what to do.

She's pretty easy to counter once you understand what to do. You need to remember that at the end of the day, she literally has 0 chasing power. Her power does nothing in a chase. All she has is tons of mobility and map pressure. Once you realize that, you just need to manage your stacks and pay attention when she is busy.

The ONLY thing i'll agree with, is the that the green addon that tells her when you take a tape is a bit annoying in solo queue. Not unbeatable, but annoying for sure.

Absolutely hate her. Ate a 15 minute ban earlier because the match was just so unpleasant.

I'm not even that serious a player. I don't care about escaping as long as I have fun... but neither happen against her.

I just want to see her at the bottom(:

For me, the new sadako is the killer of Tyra F, who is strong only because no one wants to play against her correctly....I want her to actually be in the lowest dash and show her real weak power, I just want to see her in her deserved place

What if the Onryo could not see who is carrying a tape on the HUD. Would that help with condemn focus?

Slugging sadako with Sloppy and Knock out is the biggest GG this game has ever had in its entire history

    It's literally impossible to beat

Impossible as solo queue, extremely hard as a 4-man SWF

It isnt about 10 full times teleport to get condemn, you only need half of it to force survivors to find TVs, and even that, it doesnt have enough TV for them, because they need 4 TVs, while you already use 5, out of 7

I could run to TV(1) to get the tape, Sadako teleport to it, fine, I could hide from her then run to TV(2). Except she would teleport to TV(2). And repeat. The thing is the way Survivors gain stack and losing stack share the same resources.

Just image everytime Wesker successes M2 a survivor would also disable a Spray, or Survivor pre-open a Spray that disable Wesker to M2.

If the tape has its own cooldown from the TVs, which Sadako can teleport however she wants, while survivors still can take the tape right after she teleport (and also not disable TVs for Sadako), I would like to see how that go.

It's another case of "You play solo queue? We don't like that, die."

Playing coordinated it can be kinda manageable, but even then stuff like teleport spam, tvs always being off, it adds up into knowing the counter, but not having the means to do it. If the TVs don't take a skull merchant game to turn back on id be fine with it.

If you're solo queue, chances are you might as well just open another tab and wait to die while playing Deep Rock or something. You NEED coordination to play against her now, something solo queue sorely lacks. If one teammate doesn't know her counter, 3v1 almost immediately. Can't tell each other where TVs are, makes actually countering 5x harder.

She's, imo, the worst kind of killer. A pubstomper. Mediocre against teams, but downright atrocious against solo queue. Why the ######### does bhvr hate solo so much??? Feel like the middle child of a late 80s family rn

Moving a tape from a TV to any other TV on the map is trivial in most cases. I've had tape runs that lasted less than 10 seconds because the distance between TVs can be so short. The lullaby means you should never be surprised by an attack from her either. It's very easy to hold a tape and avoid an almost purely M1 killer at the start of a match

I think she is only elevated into ridiculous territory with her Iridescent addons. But then again most killers are so I don't see it as that much of an issue.

People are in here praising mothers comb but Iri Video Tape is just miles better because you can see people running up to get a tape before they even grab it, which is game-ending in many cases

Tbh my matches vs her have been fine. One god awful match where they slugged but other than that its not bad. The map also matters because you need to play very safe with that tape

I got 3 since the update.

1 didn't even start since one survivor dc'd during the loading.

the other 2 weren't going for condemn so...
