What perks should be basekit?
I'm curious to see the consensus on a question like this.
For survivor, I think it's ridiculous that Kindred is still a perk instead of something that just happens. Not only would be nice simply to have the information, but making Kindred basekit (and implementing other similar changes) would help to at least slightly bridge the gap between solo and SWF games.
For killer, hear me out, I feel that it should be NOED. I've been vocal about the fact that this perk is unhealthy for the game and often rewards bad killer players, but since the devs are clearly in no hurry to change it in any way, I feel like making it basekit would better incentivize survivors to cleanse totems. Anything that adds something to do for survivors other than holding M1 on generators might make it so M1 killers don't feel the need to run 4 regression perks every game.
What perks would you all like to see basekit, and how would you feel if these two were introduced?

They would still run 4 Regression-Perks each game and because Survivors have to cleanse 5 Totems on top of doing 5 Gens, they wont even reach Endgame.

Yes, I did consider this. Surely appropriate nerfs could be made to the stronger regression perks to balance this out?

Just run Kindred, were is the problem? You need to realize that it would also be another buff for SFWs, be it with or without comms - SWFs with Kindred would have free auras on top.

You know, throwing in some buzzwords like "SWF" wont really improve your reasoning.
Auras would not do anything for SWFs. They know when the Killer is camping and they also know where everyone is. But it would certainly help Solos and people who are not 4 man-SWFs.

Who cares about Boons in 2023?
The problem is more the combination of Slowdown-Perks which prolong the game + the mandatory Job of cleansing 5 Totems on top of it. Plus it would make Pentimento a real pain to deal if the Killer can count on Survivors breaking Totems. It can already be strong, but only with a Dedicated Build. If I know that I would get built-in NOED and that the Survivors are forced to cleanse my Totems, I would run Pentimento in every game.
And nerfing some Regression Perks is not the way to go IMO. This would also hurt those who only run one Regression-Perk.

I'd also like to say that you could then keep corrupt in the game but have it block all gens for 60 seconds, but then we come back to the age old issue of something strong on Trapper or Pig, say, being broken on Nurse or Blight.

Okay, you know what, you've got me there. I only just recently came back to the game so I tend to forget a lot of the newer perks; I didn't factor in Pentimento and how that would affect things.

The survivors wouldn't even have to cleanse all the dull totems. They would only have to cleanse your NOED at the end when its aura is revealed to the survivors.
Re-kindling it with Pentimento would only give one token, which only slows down gens (all 5 gens are done if NOED has activated).

I think you need to point another reason of why it shouldn't be basekit for killer.=)
To me - this perk is pretty niche as Unrelenting, wasting a perk slot on that is just feels wrong to me, and I don't think like it's gonna affect the game too much, even if you do.
Unlike corrupt tho - basekit corrupt is gonna help a lot for a killers without mobility.

I don't want just Kindred as basekit,the biggest solo-SWF gap closer they can do is letting survivors see eachothers aura at all times.

But he needs his solos to be headless chickens, why can't you get that? How else will be win a game of Killer otherwise? If solos get buffed say goodbye to killer players /s.

Enough with the base kit perks already.
The changes that survivors need are not base kit perks but a way to communicate in order to help out with solo queue issues. A chat wheel would be a better option than just adding half a douzen perks to the survivors' base kits because: "SWF hAVe iT AnYwAY."
Killers don't need base kit perks either. Because instead of adding band aid after band aid the devs should fix the underlying issues. Like killers having no early game.

I agree. I brought this discussion up because they don't seem to want to do either of these things. Doesn't it seem a lot more likely, knowing the devs, that they would introduce certain perks as base instead of doing a massive overhaul of all the issues?

That would be extremely convenient but I'd be ok with current Bond's range as well.

Deadlock (a shorter 15 second version)
Lethal Pursuer (the initial aura reading should be base, the perk should just be extended aura duration)
Shadowborn (I can't believe I have to burn a whole perk slot for a decent fov)
Fire Up
Kindred
Slippery Meat
Sole Survivor (a milder version)
Decisive Strike (current DS is not that strong, make it basekit and have the perk extend the stun by 2 sec)

I'm very surprised to see NOED mentioned. Not too many people seem to want it to be base kit.. This would make it to where the majority of Survivors would most certainly do Totems, which in turn, would help a lot with Gen rushing. If Survivors knew NOED was coming at the end of every trial, you'd start to see those Totems clear up pretty damn quick as well as Generators slowing down even if its only slightly. I also think it only makes sense for the Killer to become stronger toward the end of the trial.

I don't necessarily want it to be base kit, but I'm kind of just throwing out ideas.
Really, I just want to be able to play a Pig game and not feel like bringing Sloppy instead of Jolt, say, is going to lose me the game.

Modern NOED is too weak to waste time on totems. It literally shows it's aura now... Why bother with totems mid match?

For survivor I feel like the HUD being added was kind of their base kit Kindred. The HUD gives a lot of information.

I don't think so. After all, they could have just settled for base kit Bond but instead they introduced an entirely overhauled HUD.
I don't know why we don't have a chat wheel or something similar yet but I think this would be a much better option than more base kit perks.

I think that's a big reason it wouldn't be that impactful for it to be made base. I think it would make a decent difference though.
People are going to complain regardless. I'd rather have NOED base as it would add another default element to the game and not just if they're running the perk. Complainers will always be just that.

Its funny, in this forum every SWF is a Comp-Team, but when it comes to Kindred, they are all so bad that they need Auras. However it fits the narrative I guess.
Kindred shows two things:
- If the Killer is camping
- If someone is going for the rescue
A SWF needs to communicate two things:
- "The Killer is camping"
- "I go for the Unhook"
Both dont require an Aura. The only thing that MAYBE can be relevant is that they can see who is the closest. But this is also really basic communication.
A SWF on Comms will not have any significant benefit from Kindred. Which is why you dont see it when there is a 4 man-SWF.

Personally, I don't really feel there needs to be any added but, besides my thoughts, once one perk is added then people still want more. Some modicum of perks have been added to both sides already but that doesn't seem to be enough, nor will it ever be enough because people will always want more.

i agree. HUD is little bit like base-kit kindred but i don't think its encompassing enough. i think global aura survivor aura would be better. I still don't feel like there is much coordination in soloq and it still feels disorganized.
i think corrupt fails to address problem. I think issue is more of killer's not having enough dynamic global presence on the map. too much of killer's presence on maps is at best centered in 1 area for where killer is or at worst 1vs1 centric. killer try to fix this by running regression perks like jolt, pain res, pop, eruption to have like global-like regression in disrupting gens but in the end, the impact is somewhat non-existent vs efficient teams. I think pain res base-kit would be good but the problem is strange.

you must admit, bond being a perk is quite silly, along with kindred. And hot take, i firmly believe deadlock should be base for killer.

killer:
mini corrupt- the strong killers can down fast already so this will mainly help the set up killers
grim embrace: Buff the duration but it only can trigger if all survivors are alive.
Survivor:
Mini variation of soul survivor- Allow both of the last two survivors to receive the repair speed buff. (less hatch hiding hopefully)
poised- Mainly to help the last two survivors again. Just trying to reduce hatch hiding.
