EMOTES IN DBD WOULD SAVE IT
every major games has emotes like Fortnite and apex and overwatch. Even dead by daylight mobile has new emotes. I really just want to have more fun on this game because emotes would be funny to dance with survivor and killers. It would make the game less toxic since we would be silly with each other🥰 y’all would also make a lot of money since I would buy every emote to come out. You wouldn’t have to think ab what to add in the rift cause u could add emotes to it. Event reward emotes could be another idea. Even a game which is Influenced by DBD (identity v) proves that emotes will work in a 4v1 game🤓 pls I just want to dance in dbd
I put these random videos as an example

that would make this game on Friday the 13th the most toxic game ever with the biggest community. No

"Would make the game less toxic"
All the survivors dancing at the exit gates.
The Trapper dancing after he slugged all four of us with his Noed.
14 -
As much as I would love emotes for both roles this community is too soft to handle them they already complain about bming enough
2 -
Which is why we need emotes. It would bring the community together🥹
2 -
Exactly it goes both ways. Regardless it’s still fun and there’s no reason NOT to add it.

A good reason is to keep the game serious and "horror" vibe, this game is not fortnite I'm already not a fan of skins like elephant clown and bunny legion, it's not that serious but it can ruin immersion. Like proximity chat if they add VOIP I'd leave the game tbh
10 -
Chasing every trend just makes a product the same as others. I like that DBD tries to stick to a theme with its aesthetic: grim.
Freddy Krueger flossing may fit in Fortnite, but if you want that, go play Fortnite.
12 -
Arming trolls probably won't create a more desirable game atmosphere.

Sillier & more funny than tbagging and nodding

Would make them money yes, but also likely a lot of backlash

This game is too serious sure. What typa immersion u feel when u play dbd.
Ur taking it too literal lol. I used Fortnite as an example in terms of success😂 I’m just saying they do it and it works.

do you want to dance? get up and dance in front of the monitor, and this game does not need it

what horror vibe?
Every map is brighter.
there is a k-pop killer, a knight, and a lady with a bedazzled mask.
the last Halloween event featured candy weapons for killers and x-ray t-shirts for survivors.
this current event features a bbq theme and margaritas.
we have nicolas cage.
DBD is not a horror game.

They already mentioned that they won't put new emotes into the game because of how the few we have are seen as toxic.

If I want new emotes for the dbd, I want thematic fitting emotes; and not some fortnite emotes.
It can be as simple as giving every survivors and killers characters, each their own unique emotes, that can be unlocked and shared for any character, like teachable perks. These emotes can be basic Animations that reflect that particular character personality, but fits the character's background; like for example, Claudette wraps a bandage guise around her wraist Animation. You can also also throw in emotes that are exclusively for the specific killer, like for example Leatherface doing the chainsaw dance.
But of course, I absolutely do not want to see the killers/survivors doing the Floss or Blasting the California girls while doing that dance. https://youtu.be/iAyerz54368

Yes this is what I mean!!! In the game I mentioned idv they have emotes for survivors and killers that are special to them. I’m just talking ab sum new n fun.

Have they really?? That sucks. I just wanna dance In dbd.

Dbd is still objectively defined as a horror game as it was made as one, just because it isn't 100% serious in it's tone does not mean it isn't horror anymore.
Also Trickster very much is horror, his lore and mannerism showcases this, not all horrors are your conventional tall masked machete wielding slasher.
6 -
Um have u seen his skins? Just because they include blood doesn’t mean they are scary/horror it’s just DBD’s general vibe.
Plus u can’t deny that DBD’s horror factor is very little to none. It’s definitely more sweaty/ meta survivors and killers playing the game now. How many times have u been terrified while going against a scary killer.

Um have u seen his skins? Just because they include blood doesn’t mean they are scary/horror it’s just DBD’s general vibe.
First off: scary and horror is not one and the same, scary is what you're personally afraid of, while horror is the general term for everything anyone can find scary regardless of what it is. DBD may not be scary to me, you or other long time players, but it's horror still remains as it always have because what is or isn't scary is subjective and as long as scariness is subjective, horror can never be defined by anyone single person because it's such a broad thing and genre.
Secondly: blood/dirt/mud is still part of DBD's general horror aesthetic for cosmetics, always have been and always will be as all cosmetics have one or more of those details to make them fit in with the game's aesthetic.
Thirdly: DBD's vibe isn't restricted to the conventional Grim Dark horror combined with Slasher horror like it was back in the day, it has expanded into many more types of horror throughout the years, it now features both conventional and unconventional horror types. Trickster is a horror character through and through, his lore is literally what drives his horror home and corrospond to how he behaves in-game, as he belongs in the same catagory of horror as horror movie characters like Patrick Bateman, Norman Bates, Terry Simmons and many others belongs in, which is looking normal on the outside while being all messed up on the inside.
Him not being scary in appearance is the literal point of his character, you don't suspect a handsome celebrity to be a complete monster on the inside because his appearance will fool most people into thinking he's just a normal k-pop star.
Also out of all the Killers in the game, Trickster is probably the killer that are closest to that of real life psychos and murders.
Plus u can’t deny that DBD’s horror factor is very little to none. It’s definitely more sweaty/ meta survivors and killers playing the game now. How many times have u been terrified while going against a scary killer.
Actually, i can deny that DBD's horror factor is very little to none, it not being scary to me or you personally does not make the horror disappear. As far as scariness is concerned, for anyone who's played for long enough will not be scared of DBD, however newer players are more inclined to be scared because they don't know the ins & outs of the game or what to expect from it and so hasn't gotten used to it yet like most longtime players have.
Also tell me this: How many horror games have you played for more than 2K hours without said game's scary factors disappearing completely? if you play a horror game or watch a horror movie enough times for long enough, it ends up becoming stale and predictable because you know exactly what's gonna happen and what to expect everytime and dbd is no exception to this, especially not when you got people playing the game for way more than 3K+ hours, if you played any horror game for that long, i guarantee you that you'd stop feeling the scariness from it regardless of what it is.

That would be kinda funny

More emotes should be added than we currently have but not probably dances. Killer should get some too.
1 -
Um exactly?? I don’t want to add emotes in DBD for new players I want it for the existing players. And another thing you don’t need 2k hours in DBD to not find it scary anymore it literally takes like one jumpscare for you to get used to it. Let me just remind you dbd is rated mature 17+, what 17 year old would get scared from a game like this? It’s just gore.
also I know trickster is supposed to be horror cause like obviously but my point is DBD is considered a horror game while not necessarily being horror. That’s its, it’s a category.

We has these in resident evil resistance and I loved them. However they were always spammed at the exit gates to taunt the loser lol :(

Honestly surprised they haven't implemented more emotes. Being able to emote makes the game feel somewhat alive seeing as the Survivors can't speak from Oni having ripped most of their tongues out at least once during a Mori. Maybe their tongues don't regenerate when they're sent back to the campfire. Everyone from RE, Nic Cage, and Ash have all mastered the tongue regeneration process however.

I am literally begging the developers to do everything in their power to keep DBD with as few similarities to Fortnite as possible.
2 -
Need a comms wheel with emotes attached to each command
0 -
We need so many things fixed (Sadako's rework needing to be fixed, Skull Merchant's ENTIRE kit needing to be fixed, and more) before we start requesting emotes.
I am not looking forward to a Condemned build Sadako slugging my entire solo queue team just to do emotes till we bleed out and that's exactly what will happen.
1 -
We just need other things fixed before adding this; I'm still awaiting the Sadako fix because her power is just making soloqueue hell.
1 -
Agreed. That's why I'm not expecting any of the old killers to get better/more unique moris. It would be really cool, but in the grand scheme it's just not that important.

Um exactly?? I don’t want to add emotes in DBD for new players I want it for the existing players.
I know the topic of the thread is about emotes in dbd, however i actually didn't talk about that once in my comments, so i'm not sure why you bring that up all of the sudden, however since you just now brough it up, i'm going give my 2 cents on the topic of the thread: I don't want emotes in the game in general if they're anything remotely close to that of emotes seen on dbd mobile or fortnite, i don't believe they have a place here and that's what i firmly believe.
And another thing you don’t need 2k hours in DBD to not find it scary anymore it literally takes like one jumpscare for you to get used to it.
The 2k hours was just an example due to how long some people play the game, my point was that when you play any horror game for long enough, it eventually stops being scary no matter what.
Let me just remind you dbd is rated mature 17+, what 17 year old would get scared from a game like this? It’s just gore.
and let me remind you that what you don't find scary, does not mean everyone else also don't find scary as everyone is different from one another.
Even if the majority of consistent players don't find dbd scary, that doesn't change the fact that they don't represent everyone who plays the game.
also I know trickster is supposed to be horror cause like obviously but my point is DBD is considered a horror game while not necessarily being horror. That’s its, it’s a category.
I can very much use the same argument for any horror game since you'll always find people not scared of something, so any horror game would also just be that, simply a category only. (and no that's not just me assuming so, it's a fact that what some people find scary, others don't find scary, the same way how what some people find funny, others don't find funny.)

My friends say emotes would be cool. I say the game just ain't built to have emotes.

Would turn the game into a comedy game. Hard pass for me. Balance against the m1 killers is a big enough joke as it is.

Survivors are toxic enough with the two basic emotes they already have, no thanks.
0 -
The only one seen as toxic is tbagging, and that's not even a genuine emote
2 -
BHVR could definitely add a heart emote. An emote where a player makes a heart shape with their arms. It would add so much wholesomeness to the game, and I see no way of how this specific emote could be used in a toxic manner.

I want to whip and nae nae with killers.

the reason why I started playing DBD this year is partly because it has no bullshit like emotes, dances etc. I always hated them in dota 2
