It's close, but I always feel robbed on survivor if my foot comes down after the fast vault and I still get hit.

Believe me they'll still guilt-trip you into thinking vaults are broken and M1 killers are unplayable right now because of the "new vaults" when this is realistically what most of the matches play like LOL.

No. If the survivor has already cleared the window, the hit should not connect.

Depends on who has the better ping, but we all know asking for a functioning hit validation system is too much

that's a good point. for me the female vaults don't feel any different than before the patch. male vaults on the other hand throw off my muscle memory because of the new (bugged) distance.

Most people in this community cannot differentiate between intended mechanical changes vs. a bug. Example:
Like this is clearly a bug where survivor for some reason loses weight when vaulting off heights. That is clearly not intended and how a fast vault animation should play. If you have common sense you can tell.
But NO! People get angry and heated how could they buff vaults like this it's totally OP and broken! This is so unfair Otz said so!

Ping issue. It's close (you can especially see if you watch the video at .25 speed), but if both sides had good connection I would bet that you would have made it.

I get heated when my survivor is on their 2nd or 3rd step away from the vault and still goes down.

Thank you for all your responses. I checked the Wiki and a fast vault should take 0.5 seconds.
Here is the video footage again but with a replay and timer added at the end of the video:
My vault took over 1 second from the time the running vault promt disappeared until my feet were on the ground. A medium vault would take 0.9 seconds. the time that resilience would deduct is not even included.
So now is my question to you guys: I'm just bad at fast vaulting (honest question) or do we see a bug in action here?

the vault doesn't start when the prompt disappears. it just means you are locked into it.
the animation starts around the .55 second mark.
which gives you about 0.6 seconds of time from vault starting to being hit. which CAN be easily explained with ping issues.
now, if we frame by frame on youtube, the video seems to be at 30fps and it took 20 frames from vault to hit. which is 0.666666... of a second. which kinda matches your timer accounting for human error.
and it still goes to, CAN be explained by ping. might be a bug, but ping can answer it

Oh yeah. It's really tilting when you're penalized for having <70ms ping and your opponent is playing from the International Space Station on a toaster. This is the only online game I've played where having a terrible connection is a massive advantage.

I played Delta Force back in 99 and 2000 on dial up. People thought I was a GOAT player but really the other sides hits weren't registering before mine. Good times, lol.

Just normal DBD netcode, and don't expect to be fixed, it has only become worse over the years...
At least if killer ping was shown in lobby then you could account for it and maybe not attempt such vaults. But we still don't even get this basic information for some reason.

that's true, i get stuck on too many things.
it's about the fact that i keep getting hits like this, some even further away from the window and i wanted to know if i had the wrong expectation of fast vaults or if it's something i do wrong. because when i watch some of the bigger twitch streamer, they get away with such vaults. my ping is below 50ms (in this case 30ms), Otz on the other hand plays with a red ping and make this vaults.
