Imagine if this perk was in game
All hate for MfT would drop immediately😁

I forgot Boons existed, I'm not gonna lie.

Sure cause this perk would take over... I mean having the tokens being saved if snuffed would be the talk of the town
But MFT would synergize with this perk to no end
8 -
Yeah reward the player for getting hit. Makes perfect sense.
Killer should get a haste effect everytime they whiff. That sound fair too!

If Boon's could be permanently removed without Shattered Hope (so if Shattered Hope was basekit) this would actually be a pretty cool perk.
In fact if Shattered Hope was basekit all boons could afford to be actually useful so yeah...
8 -
Nah, it's says this perk does not stack. So this mean you will be run with 5% haste. MfT will be wasted in boon range.
0 -
nope. cause it would be used alongside it.
1 -
Bruh what, killers have unrelenting. It literally rewards whiffing.
7 -
This has the exact same issue as the original Mettle of Man (the busted version) in that it only works with basic attacks.
So it would probably be too strong against m1 killers, but killers like Huntress would be able to hard counter it easily. Not a very well designed perk imo.

Survivors just sitting on gens with endurance unafraid of the killer approaching.

Fair enough...

I got a different version of this perk description in my survey (I think some people got more detailed descriptions than others) and mine said “Survivors can only be affected by one instance of Safe Haven at a time.”
So if that’s what they intended then actually the version of the description that you got is bad because it’s not correct and actually can be stacked with MFT. But also, boons not stacking with themselves is a general rule for those perks already, but there hasn’t been a limit on stacking with other stuff except for CoH explicitly not working with medkits anymore.

On my version it's said this perk does not stack. That's all i got

Well I think MFT is the logic behind them realizing that most Survivors are NOT very efficient in chase, so the easiest way to help them was to make Survivors faster while injured. I mean it won't make people who are bad that much better if at all, but it will give them some more hand holding. People that are decent at Survivor however, that's another story..
1 -
and when you got to the 4 different versions, did you not read the one that used the perk name instead of just "this perk"?
or was it a different perk that got 4 versions?
either way... they are saying this perk does not stack with another instance of itself.
0 -
Yeah I guess they wanted to see how players would interpret that. Do players see the words “this perk does not stack” and think 1) it doesn’t stack with anything, or 2) it doesn’t stack with itself. Personally I would interpret that as not stacking with anything and it sounds like you read it the same way. They tried to make the description shorter and left out a key piece of information in doing so which entirely defeats the purpose. I’m all for making perk descriptions more clear and more concise, but only if it still accurately describes the effect and isn’t vague.

I got Electrophobia for that question. Did it show you all 4 versions of Safe Haven instead?
0 -
I did but i got this question with bad version of Botany perk. I don't remember perk's name but it makes you 40 seconds exhaustion and gives you 50% heal speed for 5 seconds.
0 -
safe haven meta when? 🙏
0 -
yeah
now it makes sense.
for that one I only got the 1 version. it's a pretty good perk honestly.
this makes me feel good about saying that the version that said the perk name was the clearer one.

yh they were rendered useless after the COH nerf now there's no point using boons unless ur in a SWF and well coordinated might as well have never added them (survivors can't have anything nice)
1 -
good job, you invented devour hope for survivor. if you want to generalize the perk, you could make it that it gains a token every time a killer injures a survivor by any means instead of basic attack.

Me with poor depth perception. "Time to be a killer main!"
0 -
Stop. Putting. Endurance. On. Every. Perk.
0 -
Imagine all map full with it lol

Slightly lessening a punishment is not a reward. Getting punched in the face 2 times is better than 3 times but it's still not a good thing.
3 -
p sure it says it doesn't stack by itself
0 -
no, it just makes it less punishing
1 -
I want a boon area where it makes killer powers charge at a slower rate or makes them unable to use them inside it. Now that would be hated.
0 -
It's a boon that can be snuffed. I would actually be fine with it. Would at least be a boon that can be used.
1 -
Still not compareable.
But by this logic we could name so many more perks for both sides.
0 -
About to say the same thing too.
0 -
No they couldn't. They'd need to have really hefty value to offset the booning time plus the permanent disabling, and the second any survivor gets value from it, the forums would be flooded with demands that the payoff be brought in line with all other perks.
Everyone would hate perma-break boons.
1 -
The best survivor perks (none of which comes close to this Safe Haven in terms of value) have steep costs & are still complained about. Quite a lot. I don’t see a scenario where boons are good enough to warrant being destructible.
0 -
You mean like old CoH, which was in the game for 18 months.
Or maybe a 5% Dark Theory.
0 -
Now that CoH is nerfed, they really could increase the range on the boons to make them more useful. Shadow Step could finally be useful. I'd be down for Shattered Hope becoming basekit, but I'd remove the boon sound so it's harder to find and destroy.
It's not real. Who cares? lmao
0 -
I mean... not quite the same but killers do have OP meta unstoppable perk Unrelenting
1 -
Removing the boon sound would make it straight up unfindable on certain maps. Looking at you, Swamp.
0 -
They could remove the swamp via a patch. There are options available.
0 -
Before the last nerf, CoH wasn't as good as people made it out to be. It's actually a pretty solid example of what I mean.
A heal that would normally take 32 seconds of survivor time would instead take, at absolute minimum, 35 seconds. But because killers saw only the shortened heal and not the survivor spending half a minute not doing anything useful, it had to be gutted.
Botany does the same thing, without counterplay, without set-up time, and without wasting time running to and from the boon.
