Not gonna lie. I just DCd when it was clear that they had no idea what to do.

This can happen when matchmaking takes too long or someone dodged the lobby.
It's not great but fixing it wouldn't be all that easy.

So I should just slaughter them in order to move on to the next match? Twiddle my thumbs while they do gens? If they're new I don't want to push them away from the game but damn...

Hook everyone twice, have some chases where they stun you with pallets and let them go?

Just kidding. I gave it to them. Something weird happened though. I was trying to tell them to run from me for a chase. One player must've misunderstood when I chased her into the corner. I left when the gates were powered to see them off but the corner girl wasn't there. I went looking thinking that she was sacrificing herself. Then I started getting notifications and crows that she was still standing in the corner. I told her to leave and she did.
Did she think I told her to stand there and not move I wonder? And if she did think that, why would she obey in the first place?
Note: I use "she" in reference to the character, not the player.

I am convinced that this is something that should be done. Once in a Lobby, you can only leave it with a penalty which increases the more often you dodge. Basically DC-Penalty for the Lobby.
Today I had a game where the Killer dodged us and the Killer who got backfilled was nowhere near the Level of the Survivors. I dont know how many hours the Killer had, but it was a Console-Trapper, P0, no Add Ons, 2 Tier 2 Perks and 2 Tier 1 Perks. We, the Survivors, were 2 2 man-SWFs with 20k hours overall.
And only because the first Killer chickened out, a poor inexperienced Killer was put into our Lobby. None of us were toxic or anything, so it is not like the Killer got bullied. But I doubt it was a good game for them, especially since they were probably in some of their first games as Trapper.
So either they remove Lobbydodging, put a penalty in or make Backfilling prioritize Matchmaking over time. I think backfilled Lobbies are an unneccessary tool which can lead to frustration (and if we look at OP, even when the game turns out to be easy...)

This. It completely defeats the purpose of a matchmaking system when people can freely and infinitely dodge lobbies with backfills that have zero logic. Why go through all the trouble of implementing SBMM if you're going to allow infinite lobby dodging? Why not put some logic into backfills? This makes as much sense as spending 50k on a sports car and never changing the oil. It's stupid.
