There is no excuse as to why we aren’t kept up to date on cross progression/cross save
Today is Tenno-con, a convention for Warframe fans to celebrate the game, and they just gave an update on cross progression and slated an estimate timeframe for it(by the end of 2023), furthermore, they even DELAYED the official release on mobile to next year to focus and dedicate more resources on cross save.
Warframe is now 10 years old. It came out in 2013. There is no reason why Warframe can do it but dbd can’t.

It's most likely because Warframe is a full IP unto itself, whereas DBD is a tangled mess of licenses on top of being spaghetti coded.

True. Surely though exclusive Xbox/playstation/nintendo cosmetics on Warframe would be a problem, no?

Generally those console-exclusive cosmetics are free, and depending on the game, either nobody at the companies care or they just make them unselectable on the appropriate platforms.

Yes there is. Im sure if they could add cross progression they would, how ever thats something that Valve, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony would all have to agree to. Good chunk of the time its no problem when its F2P games like Warframe, but games you gotta pay for? Thats a different story.
Also the fact that theres a bunch of different licenses probably has something to do with it as well.

There's nothing more to update us on.
They've said multiple times that they are willing to do it, but for undisclosed reasons the console companies aren't on the same page.
If I had to hazard a guess it's probably an issue of revenue generation. Cross progression suddenly means people are going to have more avenues to get content at pricing that is most likely going to be cheaper than in their own native marketplace apps. Think about how often dlc is on sale on steam and epic vs console shops, they probably want something to offset that potential dip in revenue.
Though we'll never really know cause that sort of stuff is back of house inside baseball junk you don't disclose unless you enjoy lawsuits.
