Shattered Square is the worst map ever made
How this map still exist in the first place?
This map is ugly, extremely survivor sided, every place there is one pallet
In my opinion this map is worse than garden of joy...

True , l don't know how people can keep quiet about borgo, this map is as bad as garden of pain and even then i don't see many people complaining.

Survivor sided? With the amount of wide open space for killers to see you from miles away and half the map always being a dead zone for gens with sheer amounts of nothingness all round the edge? Come on now. Yes it's a terrible map, but it's not survivor sided in the slightest.

One of the biggest annoyances with the map are those giant stone walls. They usually don’t have any pallets or windows but they are so huge that survivors can easily chain those together with loops that are so close by. It’s another Haddonfield fence issue.

What does it matter if the killer can see you? That's an advantage for the survivors, since they also see the killer from a mile away and can pre run easily, most tiles are chained easily similar to how cowshed used to be the wall tiles got made higher so you cannot even hit over it anymore and it is just generally really safe with like 15+ pallets with almost all of them being really safe. It is really survivor sided and probably around the top 5 of most survivor sided maps In The game. Also collision on most tiles is terrible and makes you slide off of so much or you stuck on random stuff. Even from a technical standpoint it is a terrible map. The red effect it has negates seeing scratchmarks in the distance and will often trick you to think there were some when it is just that filter or burning pieces of wood that shimmered.... All around it is a God awful map.

I hate this map on both sides. The red hue of the map is head ache inducing, the large stone walls (which they made taller for some unknown reasons) create semi-infinites if connected to other loops, you can see other players from way across the map because of how unnecessarily open it is. It's just overall a bad map that needs reworked.

Can we also mention how if we have a close encounter w killer, but manage to get the gate open...you will get downed because the gate opens in a unique manner that prevents you from freely running through immediately...

I agree it’s definitely a pain to play on but for me personally I tied it up with Garden Of Joy cause that map is unbalanced as well.

An extremely small percent of the killer roster can benefit from the massive sightlines. All of them are the best killers in the game. Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc. Every other killer has the effectiveness of their power reduced significantly the moment they load in on the map.
What's Trapper going to do when he sees a survivor 50+ meters away? Yeet his traps? Will Pinhead seriously try to land his chains from that distance? What about Michael and Ghostface? How are they supposed to stalk survivors when they have almost nothing to hide their advance towards survivors? The list goes on.
You assume that killers being able to see survivors from miles away benefits the killer. The truth is, the opposite is true the vast majority of the time.
And that's not even mentioning the atrocious loop and pallet spawns:
- Safe window into safe pallet into jungle gym into main house
2. Several interlinked pallets all within 16 meters of each other.
3. Jungle gym leading directly in a safe pallet loop
All of these examples I took from the same match. They are not cherry picked. This map is so blatantly survivor-sided that you can reliably load into it and witness at least several broken set-ups.
Stop defending this terrible map.

Someone on this thread seriously said the killer can see survivors wherever they are and that's to the killers advantage? Uhhh what lmao. It's the opposite, the survivor always see the killer coming and can hold forward for ages.

That is still a massive improvement compared to release, every single possible pallet spawn had one. It was like the game but 3 times the size and 300 times the pallets.

Yeah, Borgo is the pinnacle of a crappy map design. It looks bad, it plays bad, and it interferes with game mechanics in a bad way. Idk how it exists.

Going from "completely broken" to "Almost completely broken" is hardly a good improvement.

As always, whether or not a map is 'survivor sided' largely comes down to the killer being played.
Borgo is definitely one of the worst maps in the game, but like all of the 'worst maps in the game', it's not a non-viable killer map.
I've had it twice as Xenomorph who I'm still learning, and scored 4Ks each time. Well one I gave hatch. And I'm most definitely not getting constant 4Ks as Xeno.
