Anyone else having less fun in dbd in the last few weeks?
I play this games for years now (Killer and Surv) and always had a blast playing it, but in the past few weeks my surv games just became unbearable. Like at least 50% of games are against The Mastermind, and the rest are nurses, blights or skullmerchant. And i dont know why but literally every killer in the past weeks tunnled or camped like crazy and its just not fun anymore. I jused to play this game hours on end and it never was this bad.
Im not here to cry about balance or stuff like that, i just wanna know if my friends and me are the only ones with a similar experience.😪

It's always been miserable. I don't understand why I'm so addicted to a game with such inconsistencies.

Well, that's what you get when they make decisions that leaves 90% of the killer roster unviable and the only way of pressuring survivors is using the unholy trinity of strategies they don't like.
So yeah, even for me that don't play survivor as much have had this experience when I did, and also the inverse. That's why I don't play as much at all recently.

Just because 90% of the Killers aren't viable in tournaments (with vastly different rules and playstyles), doesn't mean they aren't viable in normal matchmaking. That is a defeatist attitude to not even consider trying.

Feels you there, though when I started this game I had fun, unless it was the 98th Billy with an insta chain down lol I did get excited for things, but after Pinhead my excitement sort of deflated, until Alien. Is like BHVR knows what it's doing and they are clever for it, still I suffer in a miserable torment like I feel myself in the entities realm! Here I find myself no matter what coming on, buying stuff finding a lil more excitement in the game.

That statement is only (arguably) true for tournies. I give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they aren't lying.

That statement is true for high MMR matchmaking as well. But if it makes you happy, I can say "70% of the roster" instead, so it's not an exaggerated number.

It's not hard if you put your mind to it. Learn to lose, to learn to win. I started by intentionally going for a 9 hook first kill, and I was able to adapt and overcome by forcing myself to chase the best Survivor in every lobby as well as the worst. More loops means more strategies, means more won games.

99% of the player base is not competitive players. 90% of the killers in the game can beat 90% of the players in dbd.

Yeah, I also get 4Ks with Trapper from time to time. That doesn't means that the moment you get decent and efficient survivors with meta perks you should not be thankful of getting a 2K after sweating blood with him most of the time.

Thanks, Kamina (+rep to anyone that get the reference), but what I'm saying is that being able to get 4K some games with a killer doesn't makes him "viable", and that's the reason for that many people seeing the same killers over and over again and doing the no-no strats so often.
Simple as that.

10 games. I also had whole afternoons of pure winning and then 2 days of not being able to get a 1K. That's precisely what I'm saying. Let's do that challenge for a whole week on stream and let's see what happens.
Also, I think he said the words "decent survivor" a couple of times while also criticizing how other do things that they shouldn't (I saw it one of those times you posted it, but I don't have time now to rewatch it to confirm) and that's also what I'm saying, going against decent survivors that know what they are doing.
I don't know why you think that video is definitive proof of... well, anything, to use it as an argument so many times, but you do you.

Hens played 10 games in his MMR - I don't know about you, but I think he most definitely IS high MMR. Nightlight played 37 games out of which he won 34. You have also other streamers like this. Do you really think these people have low MMR?
IDK but knowing the mentality of players exactly like knightlight (not him specifically, but other comp players most definitely) - try to go to his stream and tell him you think him low MMR (or whatever else you suggest) - see how long it takes for him to ask you to go 1v1 against you and how long you last...

I'm not putting in doubt their MMR, I'm saying that even me, who can't be sure to be in high MMR or not, had "streaks" of wins on occasion and that proves nothing, even less when we can't even know the real skill of those we play against.
And on a related note, those doubts would instantly go away if them started to show you your MMR and those of your opponents, so we would be sure in what MMR bracket we experience some things. But that's another topic... in fact, all of this are, as this post was about the experiences with the game right now and I just gave my opinion on it including my take with the survivor side, but whatever.

They specifically started with this challenge at their current MMR without any preparation. It's not like they played 1000 games and picked 10-game window to say "this is the result of my streak".... If it's so consistent across multiple (admittedly VERY VERY VERY good players) - then that actually does prove, that even in high MMR you can win most of the games with even basic killer without using ability/camp/tunnel/slug/addons.
Does it mean it's realistic to expect from everyone and that the game should be balanced around it? Hell no. Those players are insanely good. You can't benchmark from best players on one side and consider it norm. But saying 90% of the killer roster unviable is just wrong (see you are even allowed to use ability/addons/all the tactics in the world) and this video is actually very good proof why.
Or to say it in another way - if you personally can't win with weaker killer in high mmr, that's skill issue (and that is OK - I can say the same thing about me - I would definitely struggle with pig or legion or trapper in high MMR - but that's skill issue on my part).

Dude, your logic isn't as good as you think and you are agreeing with me. One guy being able to win 9/10 with an unviable killer doesn't makes that killer viable. And right now, any killer without a chasing power is not viable. So, again, sorry if the arbitrary percentage I used wasn't factual and precise, but that doesn't change the fact that most of the roster can't compete and that's why you see always the same killers the moment you go up in the MMR.
But again, I have nothing more to say, so I would leave it with that.

But that's it. It's not just 1 guy... It's multiple guys and even when playing multiple games and not just 10. So if they can do it so restricted - how come it's unviable for killers that are not restricted?
But there's 1 thing I will give you - there definitely are easier and harder killers in game. Even if you are high-mmr good for blight, it absolute does not mean you are high-mmr good for trapper (let alone perkless trapper).

It's simple,
you can win most of your games with basically any killer.
But some simply has it easier. I highly doubt anyone can argue about it.
You have killers that struggle overall or against current meta. You need to compensate with perks/playstyle/skill for those.
Wesker is fun, good and not that difficult to play with high skill ceiling.
Nurse and Blight are simply best killers in the game.
Skully gives you an option to make survivors suffer. That's welcomed option for some players...
