Why put turrets next to gens?
Any idea?

to get notified when the xeno is coming out of his tunnels

Tunnels are usually next to gens and I don't wanna be surprised

A bad idea. Pick a Turret, carry him some meters away from the gen to cover the distance between gen and the next safe loop

I find that putting them near loops or connections between loops is very effective.

Turrets doesnt activate when alien is on the tunnel close to you.

They beep more the closer Xeno is and then shut off for a few seconds when they emerge from the tunnels. It's like an artificial terror radius.

How about to put em close to loops instead to actually have a chance to make him m1

thats the way good survivors use them.

As in 'solving the mystery of why your teammates are doing this'? A few reasons come to mind.
- Most control stations happen to be close to gens. It's faster and more convenient to deploy the turret somewhere close to the control station so you don't have to waste a bunch of time slowly walking with it. And because control stations happen to be close to gens, that's often where they end up.
- This also makes it easier to replace if/when the killer destroys them. You're committing less time to setting them up, but you still gain the same amount of distance if the killer decides to break them before chasing you.
- Most gens tend to be in or around a loop, making it easier to run to if the killer approaches.
- The turret will beep if the killer approaches, even in the tunnels. It can give you a headstart if the killer's about to come out of the control station next to you.
- People are still learning and don't know what's the best place and not-so-great places to put them yet.
But all that aside, I don't think there's really a single 'best use' rule. Putting them in loops can also backfire if they don't have clear LOS. Since the flames don't go through walls, it makes it much easier for the killer to get close and destroy them before it knocks them out of their power. The best move is usually to do whatever makes sense in the situation.

The beeping makes me happy

The real hilarious thing is some of those 'interconnected tunnels' are not actually connected at all. Some of the two story buildings in Haddonfield and other places have a tunnel on the 2nd floor where CLEARLY there could never realistically be a tunnel... Like...what? It just looks stupid. BHVR art design and visuals have always been decent at improving immersion, but the game play side of things just destroys immersion completely on so many levels its laughable..
The Alien doesn't tunnel to these 2nd floor spots... He teleports... Don't remember them being able to do that in the movies.. Why not make all the tunnels only at ground level similar to hatch? Who knows..

How would that be fair for maps like Midwich and Gideon? Just lock half the, map off from Xeno's power? Make the upper level completely safe?
8 -
Out of all the things in the game, this is what breaks the immersion for you?? LMAO
4 -
Most certainly. You wouldn't hand in half of an essay to your English teacher would you? Something like that to me just looks unfinished or rushed. Simple.
Just because BHVR didn't come up with something else to make it fit better doesn't mean there is no other way.. xD

My head cannon is that the tunnel entrances are portals that mimic the xeno hive tunnels created by the entity and when xeno decides to pop out the entity teleports them to the unrealistic entrance that way you can have tunnels on the 2nd floor of houses

I'll be honest..you have swayed me. As long as I go to sleep every night thinking that I should be all good.

It's annoying vs swf while you're chasing someone the teammates can build other turrets in your way.

I mean to be fair the tunnels can be in the central walls/floor boards of Midwich and Gideon. The houses on Haddonfield and Springwood don't quite have the width.
But at the same time we are in the Entity's realm, so it doesn't exactly need to follow the laws of Physics. I understand having the tunnels there purely for gameplay mechanic reasons/Entity 'lore' reasons.
