"sab a hook in front of the killer", I'm looking at you. Can't be done without other survivors flashlighting killer.

I did it pretty easily in soloQ. Use empathy maybe even put saboteur on so you'll see which hooks are nearby the downed survivor.

Breaking a hook within 10 meters of the killer? You need a coordinated team just to do that?

You don't have to recue the survivor, all you have to do is break a hook.

I managed it as a solo player without difficulty. Just sit on a gen near where the killer is in chase with someone else and jump in once they go down. Made easier by Scourge Hooks as killers usually would go for them.

Just keep throwing games until you get it. Just like with many other survivor challenges

I have done all tome challenges in game so far and have done them all as a solo player.

I did this one in solo Q first try... It's really not that hard.

It's a luck based challenge. At 1st sight it seems easy, but no. You have to throw games just to do this one. 10m is very small and they only way a killer would go for saboed hook, it's when they don't see what is going on. which is very rare.

idk what kinda killers a good chunk of people around here play against or what they're doing all match. - But if you don't closely follow a chase you just won't get close enough to sabo the hook in time - not even with Background Player. The first challenge, where it had to be 3 total, took me a good dozen matches. Second one took about three or so. If a killer isn't blind they'll reroute the second they see someone run toward a hook with a toolbox (they're not stupid; they know this challenge exists) and due to hook placements they more often than not will make one or two other hooks without issue.

That being said, you don't need a swf, but you will most likely throw the game if you want to play a match for the challenge. As mentioned, Backgroundplayer can help, so can Breakout, Saboteur and Alex' TB with sabo speed add-ons (even if you get smacked sabo-ing the hook you'll get the sabo and if the killer smacks you again to down you the other person will be out, so it's effectively a trade without hookstage.

Can't say they cannot be done in SoloQ, but in general, that is a fair point that 80% of survivor challenges are "throw the game for others". Instead of helping your team where every second count, you running like useless idiot with toolbox/medkit/flashlight to get "3 blinds in one match", "finish healing 2 teammates", "hide near killer" etc.

Playing survivor is frustrating trash, but doing challenges is complete hell. When killer can do almost any challenge in one go, survivor has to do 10 attemts, and throw game in all of them.

Sorry, but I would have no problem doing the challenge if killer was supposed to be 2m away from me (and soloQ vs SWF make exactly and precisely 0 difference to me).

Best sabo rescue as a general rule of thumb is, when survivor gets downed away from hooks, you sneak in to the hook (ideally from opposite side from killer - if there's no object in way, you can sabo hook from any direction) and you time it so, that killer swings at you (ideally whiffing, but taking hit is also good). If you don't force him to use M1, chances are he will make it to hook anyway.

Also if you want to force the challenge, my sabo altruistic build is saboteur (see hooks), breakout, background player (si you don't need to trail killer whole game and being useless but making it to action anyway) and healing perk (for saboes being healthy greatly raises chance of success, because you often need to take 1 hit) + alexis toolbox and double sabo speed addons (if killer does not have save the best stacks, you can bodyblock hook, get hit, immediately sabo that hook AND barely get away).

Oh and also - you have to pray you will not spawn at saloon or Rancid maps - otherwise killer will probably make it to hook anyway.

Last note - expect to be tunneled when you do this successfully. Killers hate saboteurs. Also this build gives you 0 protection or help in chase so expect to die a lot and quickly

Bring Flashbang and Saboteur, and Empathy. Beat the killer to the hook they're going for, drop the Flashbang, and when the killer looks away sabo the hook.

Those are some pretty wack examples of challenges you supposedly have to throw the game to achieve, imo.

Two of them - blinds in one match and hide near killer - are absurdly easy to do without throwing. For the first, bring a flashlight and blind at every pallet stun/break. For the second, literally just play normally? For most of those challenges all you need to do is be inside the terror radius. Just don't run away from it as soon as you hear it, and instead do gens while the killer chases nearby or send yourself to a two-story map if you must.

The third, healing teammates, is literally the opposite of throwing. If you aren't healing your teammates, you're throwing the match, unless they clearly have a way of doing it themselves. Heal your teammates, bro.

People really overestimate how many challenges are "throw the game" to achieve. There are a handful, but most of them just ask you to play different and bring different builds at most. Some of them ask you to play suboptimally, like searching chests, but that's not the same as throwing.

Saboteur, break out and a tricked out Sabo toolbox got me the 3 sabo challenge in 2 solo games (with several wiggle offs). Severely underrated build

I did do it! Thanks! ❤️

I really like the conversation that's sprung up in this thread about how a lot of survivor tome challenges make you throw the game. Since I pretty much only play survivor to do tome challenges, this explains why I often feel like I'm throwing the game, and why my survivor MMR is absolute garbage because I almost never escape because I've thrown the game doing challenges.

The amount of killers I had tunnel me out because of this challenge was both laughable and pathetic.

You have to do it to the hook the killer is heading to. It's a challenge, it's not meant to be easy.

edit: Also you sabo a hook at the right time, smart play. If you and your buddy team up to blind me and sabo, I'm probably going to prioritize killing you both real quick. It's just a challenge, but from my end it seems like you're working together to be obnoxious, that can make a difference in how a match goes.
