Hex: Face the Darkness
Hello, Hex: Face the darkness was never very good but now with "Ultimate Weapon" from Xenomorph existing, where it the point?
Its better in everything:
- Its not a hexperk
- Its easier to activate
- It shows your survivor who are close to you
- It gives Blindness
So i suggest the Devs. to rework the Hex: Face the darkness
edit:
At least buff it that survivor screams at 0sec and than every 25sec. ATM you need to wait 25sec (without downing the suvivor you are hunting) to get any value out of it.

FtD works as global, though somewhat tricky Totem-defense. As long as it's active and Thrill is in play, totems can't be cleansed as screams interrupt it. It's fun!

Hmm i mean that you have with alot of work a medacre result. I dont think thats so good
But i give you that, i dindt thought about that combo
edit: I tried it it doesnt work, even with nightmare where they barly are in your terrorradius its not working. Since the condition is too hard to hold it for the game. You need to injure 1 survivor, and are now allowed to down him OR let him heal. Thats basicly impossible while playing the game.

Ultimate Weapon mostly power-crept FTD because UW is overpowered.

Face the Darkness is passive (thus interrupting actions more), tied to a hex (which can be a positive, since it drags survivors to find and cleanse it), and it shows auras (making it better tracking).
I've not played with the new perks on other killers yet because I don't have the Xenomorph, but I would be pretty surprised if Ultimate Weapon is actually stronger than FtD, at least on the killers that make use of FtD well.

Face The Darkness has always been useless, because it’s a “cleanse one and done” perk. The perk goes away for the entire rest of the game if it’s cleansed once. That’s garbage.
The perk has been < 2% pick rate for an extremely long time. There’s never been a good reason to run this perk.

Disagree, a Hex is never a positive thing. To have the effect the whole time would allways be best. Imagine RUIN without beeing an hex or blood favour.

FTD has different design motive behind it as opposed to UW. design motive behind why FTD is a hex is because hex is suppose to be wall-hack type hex where you can see aura in loops. the restriction of needing to be outside of terror radius and 25 second interval makes not a good perk. scream makes creates a problem where hex is not possible cleanse if the hex was improved to a lower interval.

I think the problem is Ultimate Weapon not Face The Darkness

So you mean "Face the darkness" was played alot or valid until ultimate weapon was released? I disagree

FtD in theory is better on hit and run killers that utilize undetectable or oblivious. Since Ultimate Weapon requires a TR.

FtD is barly viable in any scenario, the fact that you need to be undetectable or oblivious to make it even work against survivors close to you doesnt make it mutch better.
"To have a terrorradius" is mutch easier as "To have not a terrorradius"

Nope, UW is actually even better info perk then nowhere to hide (provided you are not playing one of small TR killers - like Xenomorph in power, or nurse/huntress where you want to actually see the aura to land a hit). UW is easy to activate, has low cooldown, drags with you for freaking 30s and basically is uncounterable (only calm spirit works, but that perk is butchered beyond belief). You should try it or watch how people use it in actual gameplay.
The cherry on top is the blindness, but that is absolutely redundant effect.
True, but there are better perks for FtD users as this perk is quite underwhelming. FtD in current form is IMO bad perk (but you have to think about buffing it correctly to not create "uncleansable" situation with keeping doctor in mind).

I did specify "on the killers that make good use of FtD". I do buy that Ultimate Weapon is better on the other killers, and since there's more of those that probably could reasonably translate to it being better overall, but if you are going to be comparing the two directly then you should use both perk's realistic use case.
For FtD, that means looking at it on stealth killers or in stealth builds, where I am of the opinion that FtD probably is still stronger. I am going to test it, though- I just don't have those perks yet. Generally, I just think FtD is wildly underestimated, because it's legitimately a pretty solid perk as long as it's used correctly.

fair points. Without TR, UW is useless of course.
(I would just argue there are still other perks that make more sense for tracking then FtD - and the only niche for FtD is interupt cleansing build - which thankfully is bad - making the perk overall bad at least in my eyes).
