How are you countering Xeno?
Specifically in chase.
Just asking advice from others of how they're handling chase vs her.
The problem I have is when she's in runner mode, if there's no turrets set up, the chase feels very much like a lose-lose gamble. I'm never sure if she's going to use her tail to attack or not, so I end up self-zoning a lot in the anticipation that she will and just get hit with M1 eventually. Not sure if there's a cue I'm missing that helps with baiting hits or just reacting to try and dodge the tail (for both huntress and slinger, there are sound and animation cues, for example so you know if they're going to set up for an M2--they can still back out of it, of course, but you at least know the risk you're taking at different positions in the loop based on if those cues).
Curious about what others have found successful to counter her in chase.

By utilizing the turrets.
It's a 41m detector of the killer in the tunnels and it becomes very easy to know when to leave the area around the control room when it starts going off.
Then as long as they aren't placed in areas the killer can easily spot, they often do a good job buying you distance or even ending the chase.
Then you treat Xeno as psuedo range killer and try your best to path so he has no good line to hit you with the tail. Remember it's 4.8m range which is shorter than if Xeno just lunges on you.

You don't. You pray that you're facing a new player who still misses tail strikes and that your team is quick on the gens.

uh, hope your teammates placed the turrets in decent spots and hope Xeno isn't running turret add-ons. If there are turret add-ons used (one or both) your turrets are 90% useless in most cases.

Turrets aren't worth the time it takes to set them up even if you and your teammates do it properly and efficiently.
In my opinion the best strat against Xeno is to hold w as soon as it's coming your way and pre-drop safe pallets if you have enough distance to not risk getting hit by the tail.
If the killer knows how to play and aim properly you can't really do anything, but if they're not there yet you can try to bait the tail.

Yeah, I found trying to play around turrets to be useless. Even as Xeno and without anti-turret add-ons, I just don't care about them? They're ineffective when I'm playing killer. Or if I'm survivor, my teammates usually set them up near gens they're working on which is the last place I want to take chase.
But without turrets I'm back to the guessing game chase where every tile feels lose-lose 🙃

Turrets set up to disable that tail attack.
Paying attention to the warning beeps the turrets give off to gauge how far it is. It is like auto-whispers for survivor.
Keep out of sight or run to where there are high walls. Sometimes this isn't possible, so I treat it like dodging a Deathslinger. Granted, around short walls I'm relying more on the hitbox on the walls, me ducking and them messing up.
The Xenomorph may need a bit of tweaking with the tail whip and I've lost more than I've won against the Xenomorph, but just keep practicing. It's the best that can be done and in a few weeks maybe it will become a bit like Onryō again, where it first seemed insurmountable but now people are more aware of what to do.
