New Community Coordinator!
Heyo everyone!
My name is Richard also known as The JollyStrangler, and I am the newest member of the Community Coordination team!
A little bit about myself: I am a Canadian born dork who has been playing videogames since my hands could fit around a controller. I play a large variety of games! If the game has pixel art graphics, I'm usually all over it. At the time of writing this, I am about halfway through the incredible Chronotrigger-inspired, Sea of Stars.
I consider myself a Killer main. Right now my top three killers are The Cenobite, Bing Bong, and The Clown. I play as a survivor as much as I can to learn how to be a better killer and when the bloodpoint bonus is in their favour.😋
My main role on the forum will be to help make the forum easier to navigate, prettier and more user friendly. As well as try to increase engagement on the forum. These engagement efforts will not distract from the subject of DbD. I do not have any major changes or engagement efforts to announces today, but please keep posted as I will always post about major changes as they happen on the forum.
The first thing I have added to the forum is the missing survivor and killer avatars into the avatar pool! There are some licensed characters that we will not be adding to the list, otherwise the majority of the characters are there!
I have also added a frequently requested avatar!

I have been waiting so long for a neutral side avatar that wasn't just the DBD logo, it being the adorable pride bird made it instant switch. If you had also added Maurice I would've taken a moment to do eeny meeny to decide who I changed to first. 😂

"As well as try to increase engagement on the forum" - Is this to try to get more people to use this official channel rather than others (like reddit, content creator Discords, etc.). Or maybe raw quantity of posts or curated/better posts? Or is it improving QoL across the board for the forum experience? I guess I don't quite know what the goal is.

All of the above actually! I won't go into any major details just yet.
But just to expand a little bit on my plans:
Using the features provided by the forum software, I plan on working on making the forum itself easier and more intuitive to navigate for new and pre-existing users.
I also plan on creating posts, polls, potential contests, etc. to help promote conversation. They will mostly always be related to DbD or the forums.
I appreciate the inquiry! As changes are made, I will post about them and your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
My intentions will become more clear as time goes on!

We won't be swapping out the older portraits/adding the newer portraits any time soon. If I do one, I would like to do them all. There is no timeline for this yet. I would like to focus on bigger changes on the forum first.
