DONT KILLSWITCH FLASHLIGHTS
Killswitchint flashes was the wrong thing to do, maybe shut down the servers for a bit and FIX YOUR BROKEN GAME, flashlights were practically the number 1 survivor tools, wanna flash save? Not anymore! Wanna run a stealth build and gotta blind killer? Not anymore! Wanna get killers attention to save teammate? Not anymore! Killswitching flashlights was the completely wrong move

So instead of fixing the game while people can play without flashlights you want them to shut down the game while they fix it? You re not making sense... The kills witch is literally there to remove broken stuff while they work on a fix... What else is it for? xD
54 -
But to killswitch such a used surv tool?? And isnβt it faster to fix smthng when they shut the servs anyways?
0 -
No. Broken items, characters and maps are supposed to be killswitched. Popular or not.
Wesker was also killswitched despite his popularity.
Besides, you can still use flasgbangs and blast mine to blind the killer or save a teammate.
25 -
Use this
23 -
Thats funny. Yesterday there was not a single lobby without a flashlight. Game was unplayable, because people exploited and now you complain that they kill switched the exploit?!
Like really?
22 -
It's not like you can't play without a flashlight. Most survivors run medkits or toolboxes anyway.
And why would they be faster to fix this, when they servers are shut down? I'm pretty sure not everyone on BHVR is working on this fix at once, so they wouldn't have more ressources anyway.

You don't understand how programming works, do you? There is no magic wand to fix a bug. They need to look at the code. They need to read the code. They need to determine where the code is wrong. They need to write new code. They need to then TEST THE NEW CODE on a developer build of the game, then put it in only when they are reasonably sure its fixed. There is no magic wand to fix a bug. One of the reasons they sometimes fail to fix a bug or introduce another bug that they then need to revert until they can do a better job of testing, like the recent thing where they fixed fast vaults but somehow accidentally made male survivors vault twice as far... is they more than likely rushed out the fix as you would have them do here (to be clear, I understand why a fix is sometimes rushed, one needs to fix bugs ASAP and sometimes something slips through the cracks in testing. My reason for saying this is not at all to fault the programming team, I understand how programming works.) They can't shut down the servers until they fix a bug, which is why they only use the killswitch for game-breaking bugs, like this killswitch issue. Would it be wonderful if they could magically fix a bug and not sometimes make it worse? Yes, it would. But programming doesn't work that way.
In fact, I use Residual Manifest. This means one of my main 4 perks is killswitched too. But unlike you, I understand how programming works. So I mention that Residual Manifest is killswitched as well not to complain, but to make the point that I am not complaining, because I understand why.
So sure, shut down the entire game while they work on this bug. See you all next week.

You have the only people to blame for this - the ones exploiting the bug.
10 -
Those are DLC perks not everyone has..

I DON'T HAVE IT SISGAUHSIWB
0 -
Yeah..

Nah, best survivor tool is the key, use it for saving teammate, it can blind the killer, I assure you
1 -
Oh mb π
1 -
I was so wrong the entire time π
0 -
Dlc perks?
0 -
I don't know what lobbies you're getting but flashlights being 'practically the number 1 Survivor tool' is a pretty wild thing to say. I guess since maps and keys are virtually useless flashlights are at least in the top 3...
7 -
Why would it be faster? Wesker was the most played killer for quite some time and he still got kill switched, so what? Flashlights are the worst survivor item anyways... Keys are awesome in chase and the other 3 are just really practical, self heal, faster gens, orientation.
1 -
Flashbang is from Leon..a paid DLC character..?
0 -
Literally every lobby I have survivor or killer at least 2 or 3 ppl have flashlights??
0 -
Keys give you aura reading, people just don't use them properly, luckily for most people because keys are really strong.
0 -
You totally make no sense. I do myself play 90% of the time with a flashlight, but i don't care for that killswitch, especially if flashies made my life miserable playing as a killer for 2 days straight.
I am also playing flashbangs now, with a toolbox or medkit and this combo is far stronger than flashlight.
Oh, you don't have flashbang? so sad, buy leon or wait for shrine if you don't want to buy.
Or maybe take a break from game! You seem flustrated, fix that then come back.
2 -
but what is the difference? IF they killswitch servers, you wont be able to play. But you have the choice of not playing now as long as flashlights are killswitched. So there is no difference for you, but others might still choose to play, because they dont use flashlights that much.
2 -
Yeah Iβm quite flustrated, regardless, itβs just that flashies were my main surv tool and Iβd say I was pretty decent with them and they got me a lot of escapes and saves, now that theyβre disabled I havenβt really gotten the same fun as I had before, but I havenβt played killer since the killswitch so I might try that instead
0 -
I originally thought that the bug would be fixed quicker because if they werenβt focusing on servers theyβd have more resources on the locker bug, but I had it explained to me that it doesnβt work that way so I might just play killer till the killswitch is over

Since they made the windows for a flashlight safe so huge it is really not hard to be somewhat decent at using them, you basically need no timing anymore...
2 -
Sorry, I thought you meant Wesker.
It's true that they are DLC perks, you are right about that.
You can, however, still use event firecrackers.
On the other hand, I have to ask: is the flashlight really that necessary for you to have fun in dbd?
I find Flashlights to he fun but only a small part of dbd.
Best chase scenario: they fix the bug in short amount of time.
Worst chase scenario: it takes a bit longer.
But I do think that a bug that gives survivors immunity is a problem of higher priority than a item that is not required to play the game.
0 -
Id still saying decent timing is relevant
0 -
I guess I do have to agree with this, might end up playing killer until killswitched is off though
0 -
Killer is fun. Try out the new Xenomorph if you can afford it. Really fun killer to play that can use a wide variety of perks.
1 -
Man you realize you also can't get a flashlight save if the servers are shut down right?
I like flashlights too but I'd rather play the game without them, than be forced to wait for them to get fixed
3 -
The real question is... how many people are still running Lightborn?
0 -
Whats up with people acting like their whole lives depends on flashlights??
6 -
Because we can't see without them, it's too dark outside
0 -
Well if some players hadn't have purposely exploited a game breaking bug then we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
Also shut the servers down because of an issue with an item? That's a very bad idea. That's like saying shut down the servers because a killer got killswitched. It's better to eliminate the problem until it's fixed than shut down the entire game because of 1 item.
5 -
It does π’... literally
0 -
Ig so
0 -
Naaah before the change you had to time it in the right moment, now the windows is really big.
1 -
Chad.

No, the servers being on or off doesn't affect how long it takes to fix something. It still takes the same amount of time to pinpoint the issue, fix it, test the fix, create a build of the game where the issue is fixed, send those builds to every platform, wait for each platform to test those builds, and then finally release it for everyone.
There's no practical reason to shut down the entire game when we could more easily kill switch the thing that's actually causing problems and allow people to continue playing in the meantime.
22 -
I saw a Freddy running Lightborn this morning. There was still Flashbang or Blast Mine, so it can still make sense to run the perk even when flashlights are killswitched.
1 -
I find that hilarious xD
0 -
Sorry Ig I misunderstood π
0 -
You want BHVR to stop the servers until its fixed and BHVR wants to killswitch an item.
Lets compromise.
Until it's fixed, flashlight can be disabled and you don't have to play dbd.
See, everyone wins.
5 -
What was the issue with the flashlights?
0 -
They took my Dramaturgy away...
0 -
Its something about Loyalty. There is a certain movement within the killer community, that venerate Lightborn. They say "after seeing the light for the umpteenth time, I equipped Lightborn and NEVER took it off, again." and they stand by that statement. I find that recommendable.

STOP I ALREADY HAD IT EXPLAINED TAKING THE SERVERS OFF DOESN'T FIX THE BUG QUICKER LIKE 2736 TIMES ππ
