fov slider
what happened to the fov slider? this was talked about a while ago however it still hasn't been implemented or even talked about. it's just a fov slider so I imagine its not hard to add. Could it be showing up this mid chapter?
(if the reason its taking so long is because of the shadow born rework then I understand that but it would still be nice to add it while the rework is being worked on)

The FOV Slider is still coming! We did say in our Reddit AMA that it can be expected either very late in 2023 or early in 2024 (please remember our timelines can change, and early 2024 can be in the first quarter of the year for example).

They did not really give an ETA for it, so nobody will know when it will come to the game. But since we got some things which were mentioned before with the most recent Chapter, I think we are not that far off to getting an FoV-Slider in the near future.

Is it planned to change Shadowborn as well or can it function as extra FoV if people prefer to use Shadowborn on top of the FoV-Slider?

We'll have more information when it's nearer to release.

I mean remember original shadowborn? Quite big.

I never used it back then, in fact, I did not even play. And I only use it on Nurse and Blight currently, so it might be possible that I will just be lazy, not use the FoV-Slider at all and keep using Shadowborn on those two Killers.

I wonder how much impact it will have on juking. Hopefully it doesn't make all up close shenanigans obsolete. It will just make looping more boring.

Well it should help give killers a better perspective so survivors theoretically should not get away with juking or 360s or any other up close feints

It’s going to be fantastic having 4 perks on blight finally. :D

no offense but that’s just not how it works in this game. It’s not like it’s one dev that can just decide to add something and then do it with a few clicks. There is a whole team/company behind it, who already have tasks assigned to them and there might always come tasks like game breaking bugs in between and it has to go through multiple stages including design, implementation, quality assurance etc. They have stated before it will come early next year iirc and it’s very unlikely to get more info on stuff like this that much in advance since it’s all subject to change.

They'll probably add it in 6 years. Like they were going to do something about IDK face-camping? EGC Mori? 3-gens?

That's sounds terrible. That's just another reason for survivors to hide and do gens. It's fun to go for a crapshoot when you're about to die. I get why BHVR is doing it, but it will remove one of the more fun tools that survivors have in their arsenal. I'm fine with busted stuff going, but when they remove the fun, interactive stuff it just makes playing survivor less fun.

It would be nice if all the BS in the game got fixed, so we could all just run whatever perks sound fun, instead of running builds to deal with the BS.

You clearly have no interest in using facts.

The difference is, that we are talking about an accessibility option here. it's a lot like the visual TR, which was locked behind Spine Chill before.
If you stretch it out too far, then you would need to get rid of perks all together because there is always going to be a meta. You can of course pick different perks but it's not surprising that they might not work that well.

eh 360s dont work against experienced killers to begin with.

And you have all of them? Lmao

I totally agree with them adding the FOV slider. It's just a shame that a genuinely fun mechanic will die in the process.

True. But I think if it was consistent it wouldn't be as fun to go for.

I play with Shadowborn in almost all of my killer games and some FOV techs are still possible. Harder but possible. And the ones that don't work anymore are the same that don't work on experienced killers anyway. So I think the difference will be almost unnoticeable.

Maybe there is hope after all 🙏

In this thread, yes.
FoV-Slider comes at the end of the year of Q1 2024, IF BHVR manages it.
EGC-Mori was just TESTING, it was never intended to directly install it after the PTB. In an AMA 3 months ago, the devs confirmed that Basekit Unbreakable and EGC-Mori wont come.
3-Genning is in the works, as they already did with massive nerfs to Call of Brine (125% instead of 200%), Eruption (no more Incapacitated-Effect) and some maps are adjusted.

Such 'juking' is disproportionately used against either newer and/or console killers, as it's incredibly disorienting, and experienced/PC killers can deal with it easily enough. There's also really no reason why the survivor should be able to disappear on the killers toes, they're right in front of them.
Both 360's and 'crouch tech' should never have been in the game to begin with. I'm sure the old instant flashlight blinds were "fun" too but they were removed for a good reason as well.

Soon, I will finally be able to play with four perks on my killers! :D

FOV slider.
You can now adjust the FOV between 87 and 10 degrees.

Look at you being able to read Mandy's one comment. Good job Glen Coco. BHVR has said that things are "in the works" for years. You haven't played this long enough to know. SO stop wasting my time.

Yea Mandy totally said everything I just mentioned in this one post... NOT

Common sense would dictate yes and so will Monitor and Abuse. No need for them to answer that when it should be obvious to everyone.

Ah, I see you're a fellow shadowborner.

Ah yes, the "playing through a toilet roll" experience and the "playing through a 3 mile long PVC pipe" experience.
