Alien nerf is a message, play Nurse/Blight/Wesker instead
Simple lesson that no other killers can be viable in dbd. Everyone else is meant to be a plaything for survivor mains

Pretty much. Super cool how they'll leave Survivor perks brokenly OP for months or years, yet they'll nerf a B tier killer down to C+ within two weeks of its release.
38 -
It's been a while since I saw Alien, but Weskers and Nurses on the other hand...
14 -
Oh no, how dare they slightly nerf a Killer. How will anyone go on?
59 -
I wouldn't call movement speed balance changes slight at all. And it's no problem really, people will just go play more other better killers like they allready do. The same meta never changes.
30 -
Why is it always the case that people have to be overdramatic to Killer Nerfs? Xenomorph was fine on the PTB in that aspect, nobody really asked for more movement speed when missing a tail attack. It was a Buff nobody asked for and which was not really needed either.
If they would just not have buffed it from the PTB nobody would care until this day.
36 -
You think Alien shouldn't lose distance from a missed attack?
You think that the punishment was fine?
33 -
I played PTB.
I wanted to ask for things for the killer, but its pointless.
They will do whatever they like, they seem uninterested in feedback unless its from a prominent media figure OR a social network barrage.
Screw that, I'm not wasting time typing up feedback from testing for that treatment.
12 -
No, of course it was OP because it was bugged. He didn't lose any distance on his tail attacks. However, he was supposed to be moving at 2m/s which obviously wasn't the case until the last patch. He was bugged (or incorrectly numbered) the whole time for 2 weeks.
But why nerfing him tho when he wasn't working as should in the first place. Its just bad.
29 -
So, do you think he's bad now? Unplayable in his newly non-OP state?
Or is he actually perfectly fine and on the stronger end of the Killer cast?
26 -
If you miss tail attacks its a skill issue on your side you can work on.
21 -
Turrets are now a lose lose situation
Break the turret?
Lose massive distance.
Don't break it?
Become m1 killer
20 -
Not bad, just avarage. Now being avarage isn't bad on it's own, but he could be A tier if he wasn't nerfed. Alien could have potential to shake up your avarage dbd matches into less of the same meta, but now it's not anymore. The same kings of meta killers will remain.
14 -
Thats the point play Wesker, Blight, Nurse only.
Or others who have inbuilt I win button for survivors.
So glad that I didn't buy alien, I knew that survivor mains will get him deleted in few weeks
15 -
Hmmmm, no.
You understand that the very thing you're complaining about is the SAME THING SURVIVORS SAID ABOUT ALIEN?
Like, holy ######### my guy. That was almost verbatim
13 -
To be honest, I think the Xeno is still a solid a tier killer. He just has to be played well and is still at the same strength level I feel.
I think we are on the same boat there.
However, you have to agree that the opinions origin of this post is also understandable.
I very much dislike the "us VS them" - mentality but it is true that some perks like made for this and dead hard get and got complained about for a lot longer and had either no change at all or it took a very long time.
Was dh the most game breaking thing ever? No? I still won a lot of my games.
Is made for this the most game breaking thing ever? No. I still win a lot of my games.
Was the Xenomorph the most game breaking thing because of its lack of cooldown? Also no. Survivors still seem to escape a good amount of time against it.
But all these have one thing in common. They are not really fun to play against.
That is a reason to complain.
10 -
Glad that we are in agreement that now survivors hold the power over Alien.
Turret is a free pallet stun that the killer has to break. (Infinite also)
17 -
Play whoever you want. I happen to like playing against Nurse so wouldn't be opposed to seeing more of them. I had 5 Xenos in a row earlier.
2 -
I mean, I get it. Alien was pretty oppressive with no speed penalty to missed tail attacks, so it's good they fixed it. But reverting the buff from the PTB is so unnecessary. Is it not enough, that a survivor makes 4 metres of distance when the killer misses? Did it have to be 5.6 metres?
Think about it. 5.6 metres of distance means about 9.3 seconds of Shift + W. To a power, that can be completely denied. This is pretty damn punishing. I guess Alien will be a STBFL killer after all. Because using the M2 is so risky, that you'll only use it when survivors are locked in animation.
14 -
Blight.
2 -
If you can't land tail attacks, that's not the game or the Survivors fault.
13 -
Were you asking for this buff from the PTB? I didn't hear anyone asking for buffs for it.
If the buff had never happened, nobody would care. People just hear nerf and revert back to a tribal mentality thinking that the Devs must be against them.
16 -
I said back then, that the tail felt awful to use (unresponsive) and very punishing. So I guess you could say that.
I'm not asking for the bug to return, I'm asking for reasonable punishment. Let's be honest, the tail attack is strong but also incredibly easy to miss and when it's that little of a threat, that you might end up only having to dodge every 9 seconds (assuming you don't make it to a window to get more distance), I see hardly any reason why you would bother using the turrets.
It's not tribal mentality. It's just facts. Math doesn't lie. I don't think the devs are against anyone with this. I just think it is an overreaction. We haven't even seen it work properly and they clearly thought it was safe to buff Alien from the PTB.
13 -
The tail attack is fairly easy to hit, imo. Especially with how you can drag it.
The cooldown speed could be put somewhere in the middle.
7 -
The Tails hit box is extremely small. It was entirely possible to miss hits before the nerf. Now it seems to be even harder to hit.
I get that a lot of people are mad at Alien, because of the bug. But that was a bug and shouldn´t be a reason to want the killer stomped.
22 -
Blight will be nerfed too, just confirmed by devs.
So be ready to for your next topic: Blight nerfed!!!! Now i can play only Wesker and Nurse!
6 -
Thank you.
That has been my experience while trying to use this killer.
Small hitbox combined with bizarre hitboxes on objects you'd want to drag your tail hit around make it hard to use away from a pallet or window.
7 -
If you are so good with it, that you can hit with the tail consistently, then props to you. But so far I've only seen people that missed it fairly often. Even those that were pretty good already. I myself struggle with it too for multiple reasons and I dodged way more often than I was hit with it too.
I hope they'll test it out and adjust it again. I'm all for making the power punishing, so that it actually requires you to get better with it but making it so punishing, that people end up scared to use it and rather play M1 killer doesn't sit right with me, when the idea is that survivors should use turrets to give them an edge in chase.
16 -
Well... the gab between Xeno and killers like Clown, Freddy, Trapper or Myers f.e. is still massive, the gab between Xeno and the good killer has increased.
In a Barbie-World, ALL Killers would come closer together. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
2 -
As far as I understand:
Fix =/= fix+nerf
And that's the problem.
18 -
bhvr listens to survivors more than killers. if its fun for survivors its not a problem for them (weak killers) if its unfun for survivors (strong killers) its the top of their list. survivors have been complaining about Wesker alot so my advice is dont get attached to him. in dbd youll learn survivors run the game, if they complain dont get attached to the thing theyre complaining about.
22 -
I mean... you could... just play who you want?
Your killer MMR is per killer... soooo... if you lose a lot you fall into the correct range for that killer yeah?
2 -
Wow, just reducing movement speed when missing an attack was the reason the killer was unplayable
So now I'm making up for the time I wasted as I move very slowly to place the flamethrower in a good spot (Finally a good deal!)
Previously, the Xenmorph destroys the Flamethrower in less than a second and then chases you so quickly that you do not have enough distance.
So it was a good change. I don't see anyone complaining about his speed when he misses an attack in PTB , And I don't think it's a sufficient argument that the killer is unplayable because it's natural that you get punished for missing your attack like any other killer.

Yes?
0 -
I don't think its specifically this...
The survivor mains are much much louder and more persistant than the killer mains. Killers rants about MFT have become much more rare, but as a past example, survivors were screaming about eruption every single day, and didn't stop until it was nerfed(7 months).
1 -
Pfffff, that's would require a working matchmaking 🤣
12 -
They are hinting at blight add-ons and the year long complaints about them that haven't been addressed as a counterargument against the yearlong wait on dh/key/MFT nerfs.
0 -
I knew that was coming xD
It seems better now though that people can't lobby shop anymore. I'm now pretty convinced a lot of the MMR issues were the result of backfilling. 🤔
0 -
I haven't played in 2 years but I rather think it's still the matchmaking parameter softening in Relation to queue times that the devs have implemented.
But I think we will never truly know, neither why matchmaking is so bad nor how bad it's going to be going into the next match.
Edit: Also, why can't people lobby shop anymore? Did they implement something else this/last week?
0 -
So did they fix that, when?
1 -
its just sad that bhvr listens to these people. this is why killers are camping, slugging and tunneling a lot more, its too stressful to deal with it all. killers can get something strong and fun and survivors will just complain. bhvr will listen and nerf it. now bhvr is trying to nerf camping, slugging, and tunneling. survivors and the devs bias towards them will be the death of this game.
10 -
Yeah you can't see people's prestige in lobbies anymore. You could maaaaybe go through player profiles, but that is platform dependant, and if everyone is in the lobby and someone readys you've only got 45 seconds before you're locked in.
So it's not impossible, but it takes much more effort. Its early days yet, but thus far, I've had fewer games where I've roflstomped or been absolutely juiced.
EDIT: Apologies I only half answered.
Patch 7.2.0
- Quality of Life: Survivor Prestiges are no longer displayed in the pre-game Lobby.
2 -
I know what they where referring to.
What I meant with my post is that it is frustrating for both sides when it happens. And that the opinion of OP has its reasons.
Blight is also not game breaking. But with his addons he is also mostly unfun to go against.
I would even say that more players enjoy going against a good blight than against old dead hard, made for this or a good Xenomorph with no cooldown.
0 -
The tail functions like a mix of Nemesis Tentacle and Deathslinger spear.
It's not that hard.
11 -
I think the hitbox on objects is probably bugged at the moment. No proof, but if feels that way to me.
4 -
If BHVR listened to the volume of complaints they'd have nerfed Blight years ago.
We are on, what, year 3 of Alc Ring C33?
How many years has Nurse been queen? How many years was Iri Head around?
BHVR is just glacially slow at changing things, even simple numbers.
13 -
We literally know that isn't the case.
11 -
Xenomorph is literally how they were in the PTB, which is fine. They are still a good killer, but now they actually have some sort of counterplay.
8 -
BHVR: Actually it turns out the base kit original version of the killer we designed was fine, we're returning her to how she was in the PTB.
Some of the killer mains on this site:
14 -
How so? I didn't feel any difference in that regard when I played it yesterday. Although, I'll admit I only played 1 game of Xenomorph since the nerf, so it is possible I just didn't notice.
0 -
Before the update they benefitted the killer more than the survivors due to how long it took to set them up and how useless they were against a killer with any amount of situational awareness. They're still pretty weak to be honest. Especially if someone brings the addons which make them even worse. It sounds like you just don't want the turrets to exist at all so you can have your power up 100% of the time with zero downside.
