Unreal Engine 5 Graphical Update
I think DBD would look really nice on unreal engine 5 and updated skin textures would make the game feel more immersive it currently does.
Is there any such plans for this?

I'm not sure what DBD is built on currently, however I don't think they would take the time and resources to port 7 year old game over to a new engine. Would be nice, maybe if they had DBD2.

I hope not , the game runs like garbage even on modern hardwares (just look at console players and the 60 fps promise) , this is just asking people to be agree about losing half of their frames by just making the game look more "realistic" which IMO is such a terrible line for the modern game industry is like bro I DONT CARE about the graphics , yeah they need to be decent but jeeez , just give me a well made game with good gameplay mechanics / good story and enjoyable thats all.
whats the point of 4k stuff and amazing graphics if the gameplay and perfomance issues are gonna be same things for everyone like dude , at that point just make another game but dont mess up the current like they already did with realm beyond.
and yes the reworked maps look pretty thats for sure but dear god they introduced many perfomance problems and balance issues because the devs went back to making survivor sided maps for the most or just badly gameplay wise maps like: garden of pain and Haddonfield
HOT TAKE: DBD graphics are good ATM and they dont need major improvements.(not taking swamp into consideration)
they need to focus on QoL updates and health updates for the most part (which they are doing thankfully slower but its BHVR so)

Maybe in a potential DBD2.
Could a Switch or my ol' venerable Xbox1 even handle such a thing? Most platforms already struggle to run the game well.

Jeez imagine being a negative nancy.
The graphics are decent for a 7 year old game. Unreal engine 5 would bring in new players. Obviously if it's getting a graphical upgrade then that would also mean better stability & performance patches. IDK if you're playing the same game as me but it's fine for me on console, minus a few slight frame rate drops here and there. 120FPS would also be nice.
It's 2023, if games are to compete then graphics are the new norm. I highly doubt DBD2 will release or even be in production when they release characters every few months and no one is asking for a sequel. That's the same thing fortnite does and it's the same thing Apex does and it clearly works fine.
I don't care what realm beyond is, never heard of it and I don't care to. Balance issues have nothing to do with this post, leave it out please.
Your last sentence is redundant.

It would just be for next gen. Not every update has to be for previous gen because that would be impossible.

I think that would be the most awesome change to DbD, but, unfortunately, very unlikely. I think BHVR will snap to port all assets and upgrade so many cosmetics.
But in ideal world, I'd give a lot to see this.

It's currently on Unreal Engine 4. We currently have Unreal Engine 5.3 Available.

DBD is a live service game. They have to support the prior gen machines until Sony and Nintendo and Microsoft each end their support for those consoles, or until the game cannot actually physically function on them any longer.
The vast majority of the playerbase is on console, and something like half of them or so are still on the old machines worldwide. Do you think we can afford to lose that many players?

Late reply I know. I just meant that the graphical upgrade wouldn't be supported on old gen consoles, similarly to how the graphical update is not supported for GTA on PS4 but it is for PS5.

Yes please. I'd love to see this, dbd deserves a big graphics update :)
