Fine for you that you never 3-genned. But 90% of the other SM players did so. And thats exactly the reason for the "hate band waggon", as you call it. Blame the other SM players that played 3-gen with her all the time, THEY are the reason for this rework!

it was definitely no where close to 90%. Ill thank the content creators who all blew up and popularized playing her that way (despite yk SEVERAL other killers having her same 3 gen potential because at the end of the day shes literally an M1 killer)

I'm not that strong and given how this community is Im sure we'll literally never see an area denial/control killer again let alone a girl one who has a good design :/

It wouldn't come anywhere close to '90% no fly zones' considering most drones I place dont even cover a gen but alright. a survivor only needs 2 meters of space to work on a gen so make it 2 then idc or just make the drones radius go AROUND generators so it doesn't cover them. Better solutions than gutting her in every aspect then rebranding it as a 'chase rework'

I do great on both lol esp with my anti heal build (Which is now impossible and was removed with her rework because skill expression and playing a killer in multiple different ways is bad to BHVR!)

I hope the beams are much less visible now. Drones should have been a very stealthy mechanic that require attention to notice. I want to get a stack from a drone and feel the same as when exposed by ghostface. You should be thinking, 'Oh crap. It sees me. Where is it? Where do I need to run now?'

Okay so we gave it a try and it's awful. She was completely ruined. Her addons are ruined, her power is literally useless she's just a worse Hag/Trapper, and her new Chase Music is super bad. Please try something else without completely changing her, it's actually just unplayably bad. You guys went to fix the 3 gen which you did, but you also butchered her chase potential and her addons. I play Chase Merchant, and this rework makes her unplayable. Now all you can do is spam drones until someone eventually gets claw trapped then chase them. She's almost just an M1 killer with no power.

Annectotal evidence, I know, but the last 5 SM I faced were all doing 3-gen from the start, with the usual stacked gen regression perks (and sloppy) and matching addons (no skill warning and oblivious mostly). One even send us to midwich to have an even easier game. So where-ever these mythical chase oriented SM were, I did not see one.
On the other side of the coin, when I played SM, I would usually play chase-oriented as well, but even then survivors Dc'ed imidiately when they knew they were against a SM, not even evaluating whether I'd go 3-gen or not. The survs were / are just fed-up with that 3-gen playstyle. And even if it isn't 90%, but something more like 50%, the 3-gen SM players are the ones repsonsible for this situation and should be blamed for this (failed) rework.

No, devs are to be blamed for first version of skull merchant and failed rework. Not players, they just used what was available to them.

I mean with the change you came up with.
If you have a 5m zone around gens where no drone can be... Yeah good luck in putting them up for chase on a 2 floor map where the Gen on the other level would block you using a drone.
I appreciate that you play SM chase oriented and I also know very well how it is like to have a favourite killer gutted, but the majority of the player base played her like a game of chess, so it had to go.
BTW said killer was Freddy for me. I am talking about the Forever Freddy time. I never played like this and they still nerfed him because 90% of the people did this. I had to deal with it too. And yes I'm happy they did it, even though I had to wait years to have another Main.

Forever Freddy was only addon issue. He was over-nerfed hard and that should never repeat again...

Not only. It was a combination of perks and addons together with high mobility and an unfun power.
Mainly the same problem with SM too.

Perks were not touched, add-ons removed, power basically same just gutted (doesn't really make it fun).
That rework was just trash, same as SM rework.
They stacked multiple nerfs in single patch and didn't go back for years... that's just bad approach

I encountered many more. Almost all of SM I faced since that stupid video got published used the same perks and addons with the same tactics.

Let's meet at the middle: BOTH devs and players abusing the 3-gen capabilities are to blame for the situation. Of course the devs cold have done better (somehow), but hardcore chess merchant players made the failed design a real problem.

Skull Merchant pre patch was a niche underpowered Killer. Because of this and the fact that she comes in an unattractive package to purchase she was rarely played. Skill Merchant post patch. You have to be kidding I wouldn't purchase or play that pile of steaming garbage. Like the previous post said you should just kill the character at this point.
