Do YOU think we are going to see THE RISE OF LORD SLUG?

I'm thinking that people that like to camp/proxy camp are just going to move on to bleeding out survivors every game unless they're going for a tome challenge/daily.

Some people will always take the path of least resistance, imo.

I could be wrong, but I have already seen some 'upset' people stating as much on the game's various socials.

That's a full four minutes. Even if every other survivor ran over, saw the slugged survivor being camped, and then ran back to their gens, they'd easily get gens finished in time.

You'd be facing a really easy 3e as killer, potentially even worse given the prevalence of buckle up allowing survivors to pick up the survivor at the end.

Personally I rather slug then waste time attempting hooks. I get more chases, survivors get more chances, and bleedouts only happens when team altruism is sorely lacking or overly abundant survivor mistakes.

I could see those who don't need BP finding a slugging-focused playstyle appealing.

Good BP and Grade progress is still largely tied to hooks.

I doubt it. Slugging is a bit more situational. You won't start slugging as a M1 killer with 4 survivors spread out across the map.

Tunneling seems like a more likely approach to me.

For the people and buckle up will just be used to counter this. Slugging is not good but better then camping because the killer still gets almost a guaranteed 3 man escape if no one helps the survivor. If survivors know what they're doing this can be countered much easier than camping in my opinion.

I doubt many players will just slug and stand over your body rather than facecamp.

Mostly due to it takes a whole 2 minutes longer to bleed out, making an even great losing time sink for the killer, and you can be picked up really quickly once your bar is maxed.

They did mention a killer named The Snail in that survey a month or so ago...

Slugging 4 people every game can backfire easily especially on slower Killers.

Situational slugging would be a better strategy.

Downed someone in an area of the map you don’t want to defend and the hook is far away? Slug

Downed someone and see another Survivor nearby to follow up on? Slug

Thats not the point. In what world did anyone sign up for 4 minutes on the ground? I came to play a game, not afk while someone stands over me.

I already faced LORD SLUG just a few minutes ago in Solo Queue.

It made me laugh hard. I thought we got what we deserved because we intentionally started chase with nurse instead of doing gens. (From my side, I wanted to do a "blind the killer 6 times" tome,). So i was kinda laughing about myself. And I love how we crouched all together and made this cuddly mountain. ❤️ These girls gave a meaning to the last minutes of my life as a Jeff.

The point is that its likely to be incredibly rare. With hook camping the killer can pretty easily bait in soloq players into at a minimum a trade, and on some killers like Bubba can camp the hook out and still have time to go after the rest of the survivors.

Neither of those hold true for slugs on the ground. On top of that, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, and Buckle Up all could undo the strategy.

If it becomes a problem, there are ways it could be addressed, but if we're going to make predictions we need to see if they make sense or not.

That's the way to take it too.

It can be "ugh bled out" but the reality is its a minor inconvenience at worst. Just snuggle up and laugh it off.

Or crawl for dear life to where you think hatch might spawn and hope for the best.

This mechanic will be just like when they added base kit BT. Tons of uproar and crying and then when it went live it was completely countered by killers who can count to 10.

Same concept here: lots of crying and when it goes live it'll be countered by killers who can correctly discern where 16m from a hook is.

Tree of Might. I love Turles.

Also the DBZA version is wonderful.

While the anti camping mechanic may help, the main issue in the game is tunneling not camping. The killer can just wait x distance away and wait for the survivor to either be rescued or left to die (if the teammates notice what is happening) and resume tunnel vision glory because the game allows it too easily. This can't be helped or fixed without completely reworking the most basic aspects of the game. So long as dbd exists so will these strategies

    This could be good.

I haven't even tested the hook changes. Don't care.

    Slug Lord sounds fun.

I don't know much about this Anti-Camp mechanic, but I'd say it is unlikely to cause that much impact. The killers who get truly affected by it will probably just resort to proxy.

    And proxy is nothing new.

To be fair, that's also the answer to camping. See somebody getting camped, just do gens. Yet BHVR saw fit to change that by adding this new feature.

I see slugging as taking an uptick, which is going to lead to more survivors taking issue, and the anti slugging 'feature' last year coming back in a new form and further limiting killer presence.

To be fair, that's also the answer to camping. See somebody getting camped, just do gens. Yet BHVR saw fit to change that by adding this new feature.

But there's a huge difference in the time required for a hook and a slug. In soloq, if a survivor is being camped and you run over, you have no way to communicate that with your team, thus potentially leading everyone to leave their gens to check on the issue (compared to a SWF that could just say they're being camped and to stay on gens). The four minutes means that even if you run over and see the camp, you have plenty of time to get back to your gens and finish them.

Not to mention, being you can't suicide on hook, the killer can't win the game by boring their opponent into leaving the match.

Also, there are more possible ways a survivor can get up from the slug then exist from the hook that don't require any prior action on the part of the survivor.

However, even if none of that turns out to be true, there are lots of ways they could address it without revisiting the unlimited unbreakable option.
