If we are gonna consider Nightlight a reliable source for everything, then
Should we start saying RPD and The Game are two of the most killer sided maps in the game?

Nightlight has its issues but there's not really anything better to give any sort of statistics. It's not perfectly reliable but it's the best we have.
As long as people acknowledge the potential issues (i.e. small sample size, only covering certain regions etc) then it's fine.

uh, no??
it can only be used to support my arguments that the game is {insert my side} sided. Any argument of {insert other side} sidedness can be easily explained by just total noobs playing like bots!

RPD and The Game are killer sided lol.
If I want an ez slaughter game or an adept, I bring RPD.
8 -
RPD is absolutely killer sided lol
Idk about the Game. Personally I think it's pretty even because of the number of god pallets but it's still an indoor map so can't be too bad for Killer
8 -
The Game is one of the more fairer maps that leans towards killer, but isnโt as bad as Dead Dawg Saloon or RPD. I donโt understand why BHVR nerfs survivor sided maps so hard that they now lean hard to killer. Why not stop in the middle? RPD & Eyrie of Crows are perfect examples.
3 -
Both maps have very easy to defend 3 gens once the pallets around them are gone, so yes.
0 -
The Game is quite killer dependent when it comes to performance. If you can ignore pallets or get rid of them super fast then it's a really good map for that killer. Otherwise it's quite awful.
13 -
And here I thought West Wing was the one that favors killers more.
The Game is very easy to 3gen if survivors aren't paying attention to how they are spread. Especially if they want to do all the gens on the top floor.

One of my biggest gripes with using info from Nightlight is the type of players entering in their stuff.
Casual players, who make up the bulk of the playerbase, aren't likely to go there in the first place. Especially console, who are by far the most players. So just veteran serious efficient ("sweats" too) are the ones using it the most. And it's hard not to assume players are just uploading picked trials instead of them all.
Then there's the differences in region. The best example is the usage of Self Care. Long considered a "bad" perk in NA and Europe etc. the players in the asian servers have for years consistently run it and base their playstyle around having it. When the devs do put out stats it always shows Self Care usage way up there, something that will never be reflected on Nightlight.
Now throw in it's in English on top of all that. I know there's nothing else really available to look at for DBD, but this cannot be THE source either. Just because it's all we got doesn't make it that reliable or useful worldwide.

Exactly

Absolutely perfect definition of Nightlight stats.

I would say The Game and RPD are pretty killer-sided since gens can be harder to find in maps like those and the looks are kind of weak outside the god pallets. That said that doesnt make them fun to play on as killer. Yeah, I win most of my matches on The Game and RPD but those matches are usually the most unfun matches. Take The Game for example, the maps just boil down to just breaking pallets most of the time and making dead zones, yeah I won my match but all I did during the match was break 10+ pallets and chase survivors in the dead zones I made. For RPD I find that map annoying to travel since it's two stories of nothing but hallways so walking about to check on gens is a pain.

Don't people usually want to argue that DBD is [other side]- favored
In order to then argue for buffs to their side

Simply Brilliant! ๐๐คฃ

Pretty much. The game is survivor sided unless the killer can bypass pallets or if it's a stealth killer.
The only real way survivors lose otherwise is to 3 gen themselves. That's why the stats show it being killer sided. Survivors historically 3 gen themselves often, especially on that map.

since behaviour wants a 61% kill rate... all the maps are survivor sided. XD

Gideon's and RPD are simple macro tests for Killer. Do you have any macro skill? If yes, Killer wins. If no, Survivors win.
With that being said, I legit can't enjoy Singularity on RPD. Gideons at least has larger spaces, just open enough for biopod tags, but RPD is 'unplayable' for Singularity. If you go into the match thinking 'I'm gunna play as M1 Killer with Scythe', then you can win as Singularity, but you normally go in thinking 'I want to have fun' and RPD is not fun for Sing.
I still don't fully trust Nightlight, but I think its fine if you view it with the lens of 'this is only sweatlords self-reporting, who won't report their losses' (especially since if you die first or second, you have to wait until the end of the lobby to report the Killer's info, and who is going to wait for that? maybe a facecamp victim or two).

The Game has sometimes been a happy hunting ground for my Legion and I've found it pretty decent for stealth killers like Pig and Myers. Smaller maps in general are pretty good for Legion. Of course, if you have no reliable way to shred through pallets, it can be a misery to play on and it's obviously pretty horrible for a Huntress.
I personally get very lost on RPD, but it typically spawns a very easy to defend chain of 3-4 gens. If the Survivors don't break it, you can often grind out a win there.
The maps that I think are a real struggle for most killers are the huge ones. Most killers just don't have the mobility (and it seems like BHVR is addressing that). I think it largely depends on the Killer and the map, though.
As far as my own Survivor MMR is concerned, all maps are killer sided maps.

As I said before, Nightlight's data is not sufficient to tell us exactly what is going on in the game as a whole. It does however point at certain things and confirms trends for a portion of players.
For example, Twins pick rate has been the lowest out of any killer for as long as I can remember. It indicates that their pick rate did not change much and judging by the fact that Twins are actually pretty rare, this data can be used as confirmation of a suspicion.
Up until a while Singularity's pick rate was quite alright (something of about 3%) with a pretty low kill rate (around 45% for at least 2 months). Now, the pick rate has dropped considerably and the kill rate is about 50%. This indicates, that as I and many others have suspected most people have no idea how this killer actually works and that Singularity is in fact not weak but incredibly hard to play effectively because now that the people who only tried out this killer have switched to something else and only the people that know how Singularity works remain, this killer doesn't actually perform so bad.
Also, we all agreed years ago that kill rates alone are insufficient to determine balance. Old Haddonfield for example was one of the most survivor sided maps this game has ever seen. However, it never had a particularly high escape rate. A more ongoing example would be Nurse. She is the strongest killer in the game but her kill rate has never been the highest (unless I am missing some very old piece of data).

Would be cool if you could have a Nightlight plugin that automatically uploads everything.

Not really, that thing right there even tells you, it is looking at 19,127 games total and only looking at 530 games on RPD and 858 games on the game.
Assuming that these are from a perfectly random sample of games (hint: they are not). Then you would assume that RPD has a margin of error of around 5.49% (at 99% confidence level. and The game has a margin of error around 4.32%.
This means that, again, assuming a PERFECTLY RANDOM sample (again, hint, it is not) that that number is actually:
RPD: 58.82% +/- 5.49%
The Game: 57.87% +/- 4.32%
1 -
That would make me accept stats deriving from there a little more, but I'm pretty sure the various console privacy & uea's would prohibit it.
1 -
Most people already agree RPD East Wing is killer sided.
The Game is very killer dependant, some will really struggle but some will also do really well. Itโs one of my favourite maps as Ghostface but as Oni or Freddy itโs painful. And killers such as Doctor or Nurse will send you there quite frequently and just destroy. So I would say for some killers itโs killer sided but for others it isnโt.

7% Killer-sided

Some people will probably disagree, mainly because it does not suit their narrative. But you cannot really have some stats on Nightlight and take them as gospel and then say that others are not valid.
And for me, I would not call RPD or The Game survivor-sided. They lean more towards killer-sided. It is very easy on RPD to 3-Gen, you almost always have two Gens in the Main Hall and at least one nearby. And even if there is only 1 Gen in the Main Hall you have two or more nearby.
And when it comes to The Game - people always complain about the safe Pallets, but once a Pallet on this Map is broken there is not really anything to work with in that area.

I dont trust bhvr stats because they post them so late and it's not following the reality of things just a small portion of the past.. and this nightlight thing is being put as the new bhvr stats for fuel certain arguments? nope.. if dev's are changing the game and nerfing things because stats that's another issue..
1 -
Rpd only sucks for a few killers eg billy while a majority of killers can easily work around it
And the game tends to be offered a lot by survivor players who either aren't that good or are looking to troll and not progress the trial and the game isn't as safe as people says it is
0 -
Once i said that when someone was trying to prove with Nightlightย stats how weak killers are.
These stats are nothing to me because you just can manipulate them. What is stopping me to add matches only i die and hide the matches i escape.
What is stopping me to add the matches i lose as killer.
I only trust official stats but so much people are trusting these stats , so here we are
2 -
All it is is stats.
Nobody said the game needs to be balanced around whatever the stats say, just that if you want stats, there you go.
Obviously its impossible to accurately say why the stats are what they are, but its much better then people just pulling a number out of nowhere.

Oop.

And if we take tournaments as reliable sources then Ghostface is actually an A tier killer since he can 4k on one (or maybe two) maps in the entire game if the survivors are under very heavy perk restrictions the likes of which you'll never see in a pub lobby apart from some meme soloq enjoyers accidentally ending up together.

Those maps are very surv sided so people are more likely to tunnel then when they play on something like macmillan, causing the killrates to be odd. If people played the same way on macmillan then macmillan would have a higher killrate, but they dont because its not a stupid dumb broken map that requires you to tunnel to win on anything short of the highest A tiers. Thus the killrates even out and make it appear like its a balanced map.
and also, 58% is killer sided? thats 2% below the desired average, and 3% below the average we saw last year. keep in mind that in those statistics, 5ish% was the difference between trapper and nurse. so explain again, how is this killer sided data?
2 -
Rpd is a good map for most killers id say, the game is a good map for killers like nurse and good for blight if he has c33 and decent for him otherwise, probaly decent for spirit id say, and good/relatively good for stealth killers id say. Also not bad for antiloop killers that dont care about pallets as much. Just some m1 killers like Legion or plague without power id say the game is bad.
I havent heard people say rpd is survivor sided but ive heard about it for the game for some killers.

Hate to say it but not much can be concluded from such a tiny amount of "data"

I even wrote a template for it so people could save time by copying and pasting.

Sorry your reply is very vague?
Please explain

Not really a plugin but with this Keybind you just have to press one button and it will upload your match

Whether either map is killer sided is highly dependant on the killer being played.
Generic M1 killers without a power to assist them in a chase get destroyed by these maps. Whereas killers with high mobility can do very well.
But regardless of whatever killer is being played the map is still garbage. And isn't designed to allow for interesting chases.

Well, statistics say that these maps have a high kill rate, but that does not mean that they are maps on the killer's side ,this is like saying that the Skull Merchant is a deadly killer, and in reality she is playing with a single brain cell using the (3 gens) strategy.
Statistics do not tell you about the skill of players on these maps
But if we want to know the usage rate for something, we can use statistics, and this site is somewhat accurate in terms of usage rate.
So yes, I find Nightlight accurate if I want to know the usage rate and I can trust it, unlike the kill or escape rate in these maps, it cannot be trusted sometimes.

Yes. I messed up. And nobody noticed but you had to call me out. Now I am sad. I blame BHVR and the lazy devs.

It's clearly the fault of the toxic [other side] mains for forcing you to type the wrong thing ๐

I love the game when i play killer. Lockers are usually in a good distributuion (dredge main), distances are also close (hag second main), and my terror radius is all over the map (doctor for a change). I really love it with all killers i play, and yes, for that killers, its killer sided.
But since i am colorblind, i like indoor maps best anyway, because i can actually see things there.

How would you determin if someone is killer or survivor sided, when not by the matches outcome, aka the kill rate?

How TF would the consoles make use of this?
