Survivor ever gunna get base kit unbreakable?
Definitely a watered down version but slugging is at an all time high in my games as survivor. Personally I don't get to appeal killer side as it's not fun for me either nor is it rewarding at all yet whe. I hope on survive it's almost every other game.
Game should not end because the killer refuses to play, slugs and watches the team bleed out before first hook or forces one or 2 to bleed out while the other to sit on gens bored to death.

No.

They don't need to completely kill slugging. They just need to do something about it at the end of the game after the killer has already won. There needs to be some sort of accelerate bleedout option when there are only two survivors left so people don't have to endure a four minute bleedout while the other survivor hides for the hatch. It would also prevent killers from bleeding the last survivor out for the sake of being toxic. I do occasionally run into killers who will attempt to slug the entire team from the beginning but I don't feel like this is very common.

They already announced that the infinite unbreakable they tested on a PTB a year or so ago has been scrapped completely.
It won't happen, and that's straight from the devs themselves.

Has literally happened to me 4/6 games today. 2 Myers 1 irri pinhead and oni. It happens to me a lot.
For end game it should be insta death if you are on the ground for 30 seconds with no healthy survivors in game.

They weren't not smart about how it should work. It should be if 2 or more survivors are in the dying state for 30 seconds it triggers unbreakable. That way it doesn't work solo down and it has a time requirement to activate so killer gets a chance to get one more down before picking

Hopefully never.

They just need to address the 2v1 situation. They could even incentivize 3k as a win for the killer by changing adept requirements to 3k instead of 4k so that isn’t an issue. Beyond that just provide an option to bleed out much more quickly or something once there’s only 2 left so the game can come to a close.
The only other form of slugging I would say is an issue is slugging with Knock Out which is just miserable for solo queue in general, but that’s a problem with Knock Out, not slugging itself.

4 survivors getting slugged is a result of bad altruism as well as several failures on an individual level. Maybe the devs should have added the instant mori for downing the full team, at least then the complaint of 4k bleedout would be mute.
If some survivors require safety nets/bailouts for every action killers can use against the more skilled playerbase; then they might as well request an auto play button so failures can be entirely blamed on bots with no personal accountability.

It was going to be infinite? I just assumed they planned to give each survivor the ability to pick themselves up once per game. Just like UB does now.
2 -
It took 45 seconds instead of 32 to fully recover, but there was no limit on how many times it could be used. If at any point everyone was downed or hooked then the survivors lost instantly and the game ended.

I'm not surprised they didn't go through with infinite UB. That would have been absolutely nuts. If they decide to revisit the issue, maybe they could consider basekit UB, as in just one use per match.

I'd never play killer again if that was ever added.

Killer is not allowed to:
Tunnel
Camp
Slug
How can we apply pressure then? "Pressure gens" is not an answer. There are situations, where all 3 options are the necessarily evil to bring back a game as killer.
Just chase isn't enough most of the time in the current meta I feel.

I don't think anyone wants those things removed from the game completely. I think people just want ways to counter the most agregious cases.
3 -
But that often comes combined with its own major issues.
2 -
No doubt. It's difficult to add a mechanic like AFC, that will be enough to help out casual/solo queue players and not get misused by experienced/coordinated teams. I get why the AFC mechanic is being introduced. The majority of survivors are casual/solo queue. They can't counter hook camping as they don't have the experience or coordination to do so. Low MMR killers almost always hook camp, which means the average match, for the average survivor is bad. It's unhealthy for such a large portion of the playerbase to be stuck in matches like that constantly.
The one thing BHVR could do to deal with the biggest issue with the AFC mechanic, is make it so the game can tell the difference between a basement hook and other hooks. If the killer hooks in basement and waits above, then it should work. But if it's a regular hook, have it deactivate when the killer is above. Although there might be hooks that are near holes, so it could be complicated to implement.

Agree.
But again, i have to emphasize that camping and also very close camping is sometimes the necessary evil to stop survivors from becoming too efficient. Some maps make it especially hard to defend gens. Looking at mothers dwelling.
I dont defend facecamping out of malicious intent. That should be punished as hard as possible. Sadly the game cant differentiate the one from the other.
3 -
That's why I'd prefer a system that limits camping and tunneling in the early game (based on a timer, hooks achieved or gen progression for example) specifically. So those tools function when they are needed later on but cannot be utilised as a default method of winning the match.

Sounds nice.

We can hope for nice things 🙏

When they tested basekit Unbreakable it was an awful experience and somehow encouraged more slugging since it was introduced alongside the Finisher Mori system.
The only way I would be OK with this is if survivors were able to pick themselves up when there are only 2 survivors left and not all gens are complete. To combat the drawnout games where killer is so desperate for a 4k they would slug you on ground until you bleed out since they're terrified the other survivor might get hatch. Boring.
1 -
That's a good one.
1 -
So you nerf an entire playstyle around a few bad games? Or survivors playing poorly? That would be like adding a sixth gen because of a few matches where survivors blitz gens in under five minutes.
2 -
The PTB test was unlimited uses of unbreakable as based kit. Technically there's only so many times you can pick yourself up just because you'll eventually bleed out, but yeah.
It was only in consideration because that PTB was also testing the finisher Mori system. Imo the finisher Mori was a terrible idea to begin with, and base kit infinite unbreakable was a terrible response to the problem the finisher Mori caused. Because the finisher Mori they tested forced the game to end in a killer win the instant all of the remaining survivors were hooked or downed, regardless of perks.
So there were games on the PTB that ended in under 2 minutes because the killer snowballed and just slugged everyone right away. The match I remember seeing was an Oni on dead dawg, and it was over in like 90 seconds or something ridiculous like that.
1 -
It's not a few bad games. Killers do nothing but hook camp at low MMR. It's bad for the game, as new survivors get nothing but hostage negotiation matches constantly. It puts people off playing, as it's not fun to play against. So BHVR brought out the sledgehammer. I would have made different changes, but it's gonna have to do for now.
2 -
if killers can atleast get corrupt basekit for 20 seconds at the start of the match we can start talking , but untill them i hope never.
1 -
...no? Cause it'd be broken???
2 -
I'm all for corrupt base kit. I think gen speeds are kinda ridiculous and is possibly why slugging is used so much rn.
A big problem too is spawning on a gen. Survivors should all spawn at random points but a minimum distance away from gens so they can't insta 3 man a gen with brand new parts or took boxes.
1 -
Just to remind people that it will never come to the game.
4 -
No. not just because thats a god awful idea but because it doesnt solve the issues. Killers slug for the 4k because hatch is survivor sided, and slugging is objectively the best way to win. Unless you have NWO then hatch is completely luck based, and even if you find it first you are still at the mercy of gate spawns and whatever killer you are playing while a survivor would just insta escape. rework hatch.
1 -
Whether they are a minority or majority, there are those that want every one of those things removed from the game completely. We already are getting camping removed almost completely with how you can now unhook yourself if the killer is near you for too long, unless other survivors are in chase near you then it takes longer. Soon everyone will get free DS until another survivor is hooked (no they haven't said they are doing this, I am being sarcastic)
2 -
Yeah sure. Might as well give them base-kit DS or DH while we’re at it
1 -
Why do survivors have to work on generators, it’s so boring and unfair, when do they get basekit automatic gen repair?
2 -
Survivors: "Killers will just complain about the next perk, once X perk is nerfed!"
Also survivors: "I know we just got A. When do we get B thing base kit?"
You have Unbreakable. Use it. Or use Buckle Up. Stop it with the base kit perks already. This is getting tiring.
3 -
Myers and Oni's powers heavily encourage slugging, so seeing it from them is pretty expected.
1 -
Bro ur just a salty killer main we survivors need to have base-kit DS, DH, MFT, and Unbreakable or it’s just not fair!
0 -
But they got 10 extra seconds and that’s good enough, 50 extra seconds is OBVIOUSLY good enough to take you from 4 outs to 4 kills bro and if dosent then just get good

some people seem to forget that as soon as the unbreakable PTB came out EVERYONE started running exponential, unbreakable, and soul guard and the killer just couldn’t do anything until everybody bled out.
Everyone seems to ignore all the ways things like these have/are going to be abused to HELL by SWF
