Yes, with 8 gens per map the distance between any two will decrease. While 3-genning won't be an issue, 4-genning will be easier.
Killers who do run a gen defence build won't be too badly affected, but those who don't will have a harder time pressuring gens.
So regularly killers heavily nerfed, Chess Merchant still fine.

There are very few maps that allow this. But sure enough - Azarov's is one of them. At that point I would call it map issue rather then 3gen issue.
One other note is - I consider the whole solution a bit unfair. I think it's only fair for survivors to have hard time if they don't care about which gen they are repairing. Whole thing about 3gens is to fix cases where killer can decide to not care about some gens and just patrol his 3 (or 4) gen from the start and this should be fixed. But on the other hand if survivors fix all the edge-map gens and leave gens that are close together - then it's perfectly fair for them to reap the problems they themselves created

If spaced well the 3 gen area would be replaced with 4 gens making a bigger area to control which would be more difficult.
Half my matches I watch my teammates hopelessly running around trying to find gens.
The game keeps being balanced towards survivors that know the maps like the back of their hand. I've watched the game go from beginner friendly to high level comp where nothing fun happens. Winning is the only fun left in dbd and its not healthy.
