When are we gonna see kill and escape rates
Its been like a year since we got these stats

I'm very curious about these in the current meta.

Peanits confirmed, that they might share some updated kill rates with us the last time BHVR posted their stats. However, he also said that they wouldn't update them as frequently as perk and killer pick rates. I take it, this is because they want to track kill rates over a longer period of time to confirm their validity.
Still, I would appreciate an update on that front too.

Please do this before MFT is nerfed. I want to see if the MFT meta makes the game as impossible as some killer mains swear it is. You'd swear the kill rate was 25% depending on who you're listening to. I'm expecting roughly 55% and i'd love to see if official numbers line up with that. What I really want them to do is show the escape rate for three and four man SWF vs everyone else. That would actually be interesting.

They probably stopped doing kill rate stats because it's a lose-lose stat. Let's take the current meta:
If the kill rates are 'within BHVR's acceptable tolerance' right now, people who scream for MFT nerfs will just ignore it because *x reason*. Likely because they want the kill rate to be higher.
If the kill rates are 'low', BHVR will just get completely ######### on my those same people because 'OMG how had this not been fixed immediately?!?!?'
The community almost never uses kill rate data responsibily. Remember the 'nurse has a very low kill rate and shouldn't be nerfed' arguments? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Personally, I've always wanted to see how high kill rates got during the gen kick meta. I suspect 65-70% or even higher, but I have no actual data to back that up except the sudden 'break glass' nerf to eruption they accelerated into a mid chapter patch, which is pretty rare for them.

Kill rates are only a part of the picture when it comes to balance, and it seems most people don't really understand what they represent.

It won't happen anymore

The way the reddit killers talk, the kill rate is like 5 percent and every killer is unplayable lol

Kill rates per se are pointless. A Basement Bubba who got 4 kills with 4 hooks would be considered stronger than a Huntress that got 9 hooks but only 1 kill. Even though the later was obviously more skilled.

You can use a website called nightlight. It's user reported stats so obv you should take it with a grain of salt but they're often pretty close to the stats bhvr releases.

It's not gonna change/prove anything. Tunneling when the time is right is still the best adaptation move killer can do nowdays.. unless dbd gets a huge shake on their baseline gamecore which after 7+ years I highly doubt they will make very drastic changes to the base of the game in hopes to change the entire meta game..

I dont trust those stats but thats just me

This is a great example of how lining up survivors on average and taking them onhook in order is a bad idea.
But the Survivor would rather the Killer be an Acrobat than a cruel monster that takes away lives.

Well said, it is pretty much this.
The DBD-Community is not ready for stats. I remember back then when Stats were released, the major complaint was that it was not shown how it was in Red Ranks, because the usual Killer Mains here claimed that the stats did not add up. Next time it was with Red Ranks and overall, and then suddenly the main argument against it was that you cannot see platforms.
And some others said that the Devs were simply lying because Pig had a high Killrate and Nurse had a low Killrate... If the stats dont match with the personal experiece, they are wrong.
If anything, the Killrate-Stats show that Killer is not as bad as some people claim it to be. But who would have thought that players who say they are high MMR, but apparently lose every game because they go against the best players in the world every game might be wrong...

I wanna see how much old Eruption being nerfed shifted the numbers
0 -
I mean yeah but then you got to take into account people giving up on first hook also effecting BHVRs numbers.
2 -
If killers truly believe this is impacting global statistics, then you should be giving hatch every single match.
You could single handedly reduce kill rates by up to 25% and it's entirely in your control to do so.
The fact that slugging for the 4k is basically meta tells me that no one actually believes either one has any real impact on the long run.
2 -
I mean when I see people give up on hook somewhat commonly. That causes the rest of the people to give up to a game that could have been escapes or not. It DOES effect global statistics and is unrealistic to think it doesn't.

I'm one of those "nurse shouldn't be nerfed because she has a low kill rate"
But not in the way you think.
The problem is, you either believe
- They should balance the game around top tier high mmr players
- They should balance the game around average players.
If you believe the latter, then by DEFINITION you MUST also think nurse is fine because her kill rate is "low" in the hands of average players, and if anything that she needs buffs. Problem is, most people on these forums believe in the latter, but still cry for nerfs for blight and nurse because of the crazy 1k+ win streaks they go on.
Personally, i believe the game should be balanced around the high level players. Which means, nerf nurse, nerf blight, nerf spirit. But then you have to face the reality of, literally every single other killer (outside of like 3 or so which are fine) pretty much needs buffs.

I would guess they remove those outliers along with DCs, at least, i would hope they would. If they don't, then it at least explains why they desire a 60% kill rate to consider something "balanced" instead of 50%.

The problem is you cannot have real world balance with a 60% kill rate. It sounds like it makes sense on the surface, but it doesn't work, at least not in any manner I've been able to figure out. 60% kill rate, means a 40% individual survivor escape or win rate. If this is balanced, then you need a 40% killer win rate (3k or better and the kill rate is not the same thing as win rate). To achieve those numbers, as far as I have been able to work out, you end up with an outcome distribution curve that looks nothing like reality, and an abysmal 20% survivor team win rate (3E or better).

Showing the rates will only cause a s**t storm.
butttt i would love to see the average solo q excape rate. Not a 3 man, 4 man, or even a duo...just a complete solo q lobby.

I'm sure they are being honest though. They just forget to mention they play Trapper/Pig/Myers etc. add-on less, they avoid left side of the map cause it's bad luck, when someone is rescued in front of their face they have to debate if it's the right thing to hit the rescuer but by the time they decide what to do rescuer is already gone and more stuff like that.

Don't complain to me, that is what the devs shoot for, complain to them. I was simply stating a theory based on this info.

I just assume that a lot of players who talk like this are playing with their feet and didn't turn their monitor on.
That or they still have every key on their keyboard bound to 'damage generator' and are just screaming for gen kick meta to come back.

I wanna see that solo que escape rate too

I mean the name and icons of the perks changed, but most of them still play with regression builds. It's why we got perks like Ultimate Weapon, that's like a 3 in 1 perk, so killers can finally equip something else lol.
