Do Survivors want Killers or Party Clowns?
Are you looking for an actual threat or someone to style-on and laugh at with your friends?
Just feel like we are going in the Party Clown direction. Killers are an annoyance at best and to most Survivors, a joke.

I've wondered that myself, or survivors just want to play gen repair Sim 2023.
Like, it is wild that tool boxes can still repair gens (gen repair speed should be a perk only thing. Period.) And map offerings are still in the game (which survivors use a lot, to make their already easy role that much easier) and still a majority of them will complain when the killer actually catches them or act like gods because they can hold W and run a correct path while their team holds M1 on gens.
21 -
Do you mean Party Clowns are killers power designing, or the players' skill?
0 -
Sometimes the people in this game make me want to uninstall system 32
11 -
probably want: do gens a bit, do their own thing while chilling undisturbed (aka archives), interact with the killer and win on the chase and escape at the end of all that..
27 -
This guy knows
6 -
Ah, so someone who is there for their amusement when they feel like it. Sounds like a Party Clown.
7 -
Thought you were talking about skins for a moment there. That being said, yeah, killers are a joke these days. Heck, I've been playing solo queue and have never gotten as many escapes before. Ironically enough, I've had worse luck with swfs, lol. There are so many anti killer perks now that it feels like survivors are the power role now. Granted, I mostly play killer. Was playing yesterday and saw a survivor just sprinting around the map at 200% speed and realized....this game has jumped the shark. Feels like a plucky comedy game at this point. Heck, survivors can sprint across half of the entire map in 5 seconds for flashlight and pallet saves, now. Survivors get better superpowers than some killers, now.

This largely depends on who you ask. I personally am not a big fan of Wraith and I wouldn't like playing against him any more, if they nerfed him. I just don't like to play against Mr. Bingbong.
On the other hand I love playing against Oni, Huntress and Wesker. All of whom are way stronger than Wraith. It just depends on their power, really.
There will be people, who genuinely think that most killers in this game are overpowered and therefore hate to play against them but I think most people just want fun matches. Exceptions being the occasional depip squad.
7 -
I fear the games is going down the party clown route. I don't think people that play dbd are actual horror fans, so they don't understand what a killer is suppose to be like. I would say the clue is in the name. But I think that would go over peoples heads.
9 -
If human-controlled survivors are a bother to you, why not play against bots? You’ll get your murder simulator then.
19 -
He wasn't saying anything like that.
12 -
Yeah those are the EXACT people this thread is about.
people are going to be upset because we called them out. just ignore it
16 -
Not sure what people want out of survivors.
Holding M1 on gens too much is genrushing.
Any other sort of reaction that isn't on gens like sabo'ing, flashlights, Head On, FTP/Buckle, etc., then it's "bullying" the killer.
It's almost like killers just want effortless games void of any resistance or interaction from survivors.
26 -
Damn, you got us!
For long I keep telling that I appreciate anything a survivor does besides a gen. But many of my fellow killers look at me in a funny way when I say that.
Otherwise I try to fulfill both requirements in op's question by playing Clown. :P
4 -
they should make killer give hugs and throw kittens at them.
5 -
Are you going to keep making these self-victimising threads all the time? It's getting boring.

One indicator might be, that BHVR hadn't had in in themselves to release a good killer with a strong power for over a year. Wesker was the last really well rounded killer, and a lot of players are bemoaning that he is overplayed and they want to see other killers then Blight, Nurse, Wesker and maybe Spirit.
Singularity seemed to me like the first light at the end of the tunnel: a cool, real sci-fi killer with a strong and oppressive power, who wouldn't be another B or C tier killer, but one that could be a genuine threat. The PTB made him look like really scary and powerful and like he was an unstoppable Juggernaut... and then he released and you could barely use his power at all. Things mellowed out just a little bit, but he still languishes in the lower reaches of the tier list and never got the opportunity to shine. Yeah, you can always sink in countless hours to master him, and I already started doing so, because I love his design and concept, but eh, he feels like wasted potential and I know that he will never achieve the greatness that he was destined for.
And then the Xenomorph dropped and it was awesome! A perfect killing machine and a licensed killer with a genuine good and strong power? Awesomesauce! We all know the story: the tail attack was bugged with no cool down, but when they rectified that, they went the extra mile and dropped a nerf on top and bugged the tail beyond repair in the process and now the Alien fell from grace and from one of the strongest killers to another failed and wasted potential.
Also both, the Singularity and the Alien, started the trend of full on counterplay powers, ie powers that could completely be canceled and TAKEN AWAY from the killer, sometimes basically for the entire game. This would be sorta okay if their powers were really, really OP and way stronger then the normal power curve, but their powers felt more or less maybe slightly stronger then other killers ones (when they work as intended), but also clunky to use and prone to failure, all this all didn't feel like a worthy tradeoff for the prospect of playing without a power for half the time.
A lot of ranting, but here is the TL,dr: recent killers were all rather weak; there was a lot of potential and the promise from new contenders for really powerful killers, but it was all taken away and sacrificed on the alter of Handholding. No more strong killers, the killer Tierlist must be set in stone and not touched ever, just like the survivor meta perks.

Dang that's smart...

Yep. Killers want Survivors as point-providers. Some meatbags. And if they dont get a 4K, they throw a tantrum.
(You see this with every new addition which is first complained about and then it is good. E.g. Bots which replace DCed Survivors. Killers complained about it, but once they realized that the Bot is not helpful for the Survivors but more points for the Killer, they like it. Same with the Anti-Camp - it is almost useless, so they like it. )

Everyone likes a party clown... There's a clown AND a party!!

Sure, I like to be challenged. That's basically my entire reason that I stopped playing DBD though.
Killer was way too easy 99% of the time and there wasn't any consistent challenge. That's why I explored comp.
Survivor was the opposite, but the same result. Solo Q was horrendous with little challenge. It was either stomp or be stomped and that's not entertaining gameplay to me.
14 -
Its like having no interest in superheroes and playing Spiderman. Makes no sense to me
2 -
This man is a genius

Literally everything is in the survivors favor. I play both sides and survivor is by far the easier of the two. That needs to change
9 -
Survivor will always be the easier role. This is a 4v1, obviously the side with only 1 person will have it harder. And this is why this side is also a bit stronger (even if Forum Killers claim otherwise), more interesting (more variety since every Killer has a different ability) and grants more rewards.
10 -
He was tho. Hence my response. What else ya got?
1 -
Killers aren't a "bit" stronger. They're not strong at all really. If Survivors are efficient at holding m1, it doesn't matter how strong or how good the killer is. That is a problem
9 -
To be candid, I’m not quite sure what case you are referring to.
2 -
That's because you played with survivors who don't know what they're doing.
It's a coin flip in this game. You either get baby survivors who are easy prey, or you get bully squads who can loop you for hours and then teabag you at the exit gate while running around in your face knowing that they will still get away.
4 -
I play mostly killer I still get 3-4 kills most games and I still die majority of my solo q games.. I'm sure people crying here are winning more than 50% of their matches too
killer main streamers are the same they win 9/10 times but still cry about op survivors the whole time it's just too funny, I don't get it, YOU're the problem if you want to win 100% of the time with zero challenge
5 -
I mean, I know that I will have a two-digit number of notifications tomorrow because many of you want to claim that Killer is not strong because you lose a game sometimes, but the Killrates are above 50%. This means that, despite all the mental gymnastics Killers on this forum go through, Killer is doing fine.
If you think that Killer is "not strong at all really", then you might consider that you are "not strong at all really" at playing this game as Killer?
I rarely see Killer Mains in this forum to actually admit that they do mistakes. Recent example was one who got mindgamed and said that the Survivors exploit the new, barely useful, Anti-Camping Mechanic.
7 -
Mostly the one that implies that you don't want human brains controlling the survivors. We're aware it's probably untrue but your not helping by poking with your choice of words.
2 -
No, it's not a coin flip. Most Survivors are bad and are easily beaten by anyone with a modicum of experience and a basic understanding of the game.
Unfortunately, I didn't get teams that were close to good often enough to keep my interest. Hence why I went and played a bit of comp to see if that was a viable alternative.
6 -
Survivors want killers they can beat 100% of the time. Guaranteed counterplay to every power, guaranteed escapes from every chase.
5 -
I never suggested that and am honestly baffled where this is coming from.
2 -
We're aware.
Started from Ayodam pulling it out from air.
1 -
Kill rates are like that because of bad survivors, if every survivor was good they would not be like that lol. I don't think you play Killer a lot or are playing against bad survivors if you think Killer is fine
And I consider my viewpoint from Killer and survivor as I have said before, I play both sides (as everyone should, we would have a more balanced game)
And Killers do make mistakes, the difference is that Killer mistakes are detrimental and game costing while survivors can make a lot of mistakes and still escape just fine
4 -
if I get angry at the game and I feel the role of killer is no longer fun I have a really quick fix: play survivor or play a different game. You guys are making yourselves so angry over a video game it’s getting sad. Killer can be frustrating but dbd is so inconsequential it shouldn't make you extremely upset.
4 -
I have probably more hours on Killer alone than many other players in total. And while I would not consider myself good (I think I verse better Killers than I am myself), I win more than I lose, which would mean that my MMR should be at least above average. So saying that I dont play Killer is quite wrong.
And when it comes to mistakes - you never see people writing here that they made mistakes. They lose the game because of Perks, Maps, whatever. But this goes for both sides, the DBD-Community as a whole is unable to think "Hm... Maybe I did not play THAT well".
6 -
Thats looking at "AVERAGE" games played. If you took the best killer player in the world for each killer, and played against the best survivor team in the world. Only nurse would win, and even that wouldn't be a guarantee.
I want it to be such that, if you played 10 matches with the best killer player in the world on each killer, and the best survivor team in the world, that each killer had between 4-6 out of 10 matches won. Obviously perfect balance is impossible, but 4/6 and 6/4 wouldn't be bad.
10 -
Yes, this is the average. However, this also means that the individual experience can be different. There will be Killers who win way more games than they lose and there will be Killers who lose way more games than they win.
And if someone is part of the latter group - well, sucks, but they have to improve. It is totally acceptable to not be good at a game. In the end, it simply cannot happen that Killers 4K every game and Survivors escape every game.
10 -
I don't think it has anything to do with what the survivors do, I think it's about how much power has been given to them by the devs thay essentially makes killer a non threat. People go out of their way to get the attention of the killer, run around fast through loops, flashlight bully, outrun the killer, with the new background player, can zip around at 200% speed to come in blazing fast out of nowhere from a distance to do flashlight saves and pallet stuns. At this point, survivors have more supernatural powers than most killers do. Killers aren't something to avoid or be afraid...people just group up and bully. I mean heck, look at this. Just zipping around comical speeds
And every single killer recently had given survivors the ability to DISABLE the killers power.
All of the teaser videos need to just change moving forward to just videos of survivor squads just fearlessly rushing the killer and bullying, then at the end, everyone poses back to back with a freeze frame all while the killer is off to the side with their head lowered.
The game has become an absolute joke, and it's not the survivor players' fault. BHVR is just turning the game into a killer bully simulator game. If a killer has something broken, it's fixed immediately. If survivors get it broken, they'll "keep an eye on it" for 6 months+. In just recent patches, they added an uncounterable risk free combo that guarantees getting someone off the ground with for the people and buckle up, they are having survivors run faster perfectly while injured to allow for more extended chases and loops, allow survivors to literally run as fast as some killers entirely in the endgame, allow survivors to fly around at 200% speed for guaranteed pallet stuns and guaranteed flashlight saves if not at a wall.
Survivors are the power role, not the killer.
7 -
Have you factored in your skill yet? Or are we gonna keep regurgitating that survivors are "too strong"?
3 -
Counterplay SHOULD be guaranteed. What type of comment even is this?
5 -
I have probably 3k hours between pc and ps4, yes I make mistakes, yes sometimes I play poorly, but the point no one has addressed yet is that Survivors can make a ton of mistakes and still be fine, Killer on the other hand can't make mistakes without basically losing the game
11 -
Then you are not playing against good survivors
Also completely ignored my point that survivors can make all the mistakes in the world and still get out while the killer misses one attack or hits the wrong survivor once and the essentially lose
7 -
Yeah, I ignored this point because it is a bad point. I have seen Killers still winning despite making a lot of mistakes (obviously the Survivors did not play well either...). Heck, I also have won games which I should not have won.
But I have also seen Survivor Teams fall apart because of a mistake.
The narrative that Survivors can make a lot of mistakes and still escape and Killers cannot make a single small mistake, otherwise they lose is honestly just told by Killer Mains with less than 500 hours...
12 -
Let's not forget they get rewarded for making mistakes such as permanent speed buffs until healed.
10 -
The second paragraph isn't really limited to DbD though. You're correct but it's more endemic to the PvP gaming community as a whole unfortunately.
5 -
As someone with 3k hours on both sides, it's a story that's told because it's true lol
