What would be some amazing chapters that afterall we still most likely (for whatever reason) wont ever get? We are excluding the obvious Chucky and F13.

Twin Peaks chapter:

Survivor: Agent Dale Cooper

Killer: BOB

Map: The red Room or The great Northern

Life is Stranger Chapter:

Survivor: Chloe Price

Map: Acradia Bay

Kind regards

    Bioshock.

Killer: Big daddy (bouncer) + little sister

    Map: destroyed rapture

    Survivor jack

    Worm.

Killer: Khepri, The Parahuman. Power focused around swarms of insects that act as tracking tools and chase survivors to inflict damage if they aren't repelled, or something. I just want Taylor in the game...

Map: Could be a few things. The bank + outdoor street from Skitter's first big score, one of the schools, the PRT headquarters... maybe even something on one of the alternate Earths from the climax.

No good idea for survivor, though. Pretty much everyone relevant would be too OP to justify it, but you could maayyybbeee get away with Tattletale.

    Alternately... Homestuck.

Killer: Bec Noir. No clue what the power would be.

Survivor: Could go a number of directions but I'm biased, I want Vriska.

Map: Go nuts! Derse? The battlefield Skaia? The meteor? Somewhere on Alternia? Tons of super visually evocative places to go there.

I know Homestuck isn't really horror content, but still, I'd like it.

    Clocktower

Jennifer as survivor, Scissorman as killer

    map: the Barrows estate

    sadly it'll probably never happen

It won't happen for obvious reasons but I'd still love to see it along with a water themed map. They go the Diglett route for the shark and it'd be great!

A Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem Chapter.

    Killer: Pious Augustus

    Survivor: Alexandra Roivas

    Map: Roivas Mansion

But will most likely never happen, not even as a small Survivor only Mid-Chapter, because the Game/Franchise is owned by Nintendo.

For Killer, The Tall Man from Phantasm. Maybe Reggie Bannister as the survivor, though I'd be fine with just The Tall Man, but he'd probably be unvoiced and that would be a shame, as saying "You play a good game, but the game is finished! NOW YOU DIE!" for his Mori would be off the hook (pun intended.)

For survivor? Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

    I've been a fan since 1981, when I was 4 years old.

    Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly

Survivors: Mio & Mayu Amakura - They could have perks that reflect their roles in the story. Mio could have perks that further objectives, whilst Mayu could have perks that make her vulnerable to the killer, whilst giving her awareness that can help her survive? I'm not sure on that one.

Killer: Sae Kurosawa - Sae could have some sort of power that she charges up and allows her to possess a survivor, making them regress the survivor team's progress and when it ends the survivor is left in the dying state... or something.

Hotline Miami would be a great paragraph chapter for a killer, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Devolver does a ton of crossovers with games, but I don't think it's likely.

At least my second most wanted (bioshock) has more of a chance to get in.

I would agrue that the Nun is defnitily not unlikely. I bet that BHVR has this license on the radar, if not already worked out something.

Still my most requested license, with Candyman, Pumpkinhead, Ju-On & Wishmaster (in said order) being right under it.

As far as stand alone Survivor goes, Herbert West from Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator would be my go to.

Kinda makes me want a Dino Crisis chapter more, ngl.

I doubt The Tall Man would be unvoiced, if anything i believe they can find someone who can do a decent impression of Angus Scrimm's voice similar to how they did with Wesker.

They would be too OP they would hunt and find way to kill the entity. They beat chuck so there is no-one they can't beat.

Lmao I always thought of it like that

these guys would unironically kill the entity 😭

just image if their teachables were accurate to the show

To play devil's advocate (admittedly based on my somewhat out of date knowledge of the show, I never finished it), I don't think that's strictly accurate. The Winchesters aren't typically portrayed as having inherent powers or strengths that would help them in the Fog, outside of season-specific gimmicks like Sam's demon blood... whatever it was, or Dean's Mark of Cain.

They're typically portrayed as being legendary hunters due to their planning, tools, and support network, only one of which they'd have access to in the Entity's trials. They don't have their car-trunk of weapons, they don't have their big fancy bunker, they can't call for support, they don't have their power-creep swords-that-kill-anything... they're alone, stranded, and unequipped.

It'd be somewhat like Dean's stint in Purgatory. He didn't take over, become top dog, or kill a god during that time, he just survived. Lacking tools, lacking support, and constantly on the back foot, the Winchesters would be seasoned and veteran survivors to be sure, but they wouldn't power-creep other licensed characters.

    They still have plot shield

    show ran for 15 seasons

15 seasons of the 2 of them dying and then getting resurrected over and over again or pretty much the 2 of them just getting some luck where they don’t die

and on top of that I already know they’re just gonna be skins cause there’s no way they could be “lore accurate” in the game cause that would be unbalanced for the game I was just making a joke about how powerful the Winchesters could be if they were in dbd

the only thing I’m expecting from a supernatural chapter in dbd (if it ever happens) is probably 3-4 busted survivor perks if the devs wanna make something “lore accurate” of the Winchesters

  • jesterkind
    jesterkind Member Posts: 7,816

Eh, every licensed character we have has plot armour within their source material. None of them have that plot armour in the entity's realm.

Besides, dying and then getting resurrected over and over again is quite literally what would await them if they ever entered the Fog.

As for their perks, I don't think them being lore accurate would require them being broken. Sam would largely have info perks, and it's hard to make those truly disgustingly busted, so it'd be Dean's more head-on approach that would risk becoming broken.

I would love Chloe as a survivor...or at the very least, a legendary skin for Nea.

As for licenses that probably will never happen...

Christine is the main one. While a killer car would be fun....there is no way to make it actually work. At least none that I can see anyway.

Another that most likely would never happen would be The Undertaker from WWE. When he first debuted, he was honestly quite scary at the time. I still remember hearing stories of him scaring people outside of events as well.(Plus I just really want to chokeslam a survivor through a pallet, lol.) On the subject of WWE, I still think the character of The Fiend would fit perfectly as a killer in DBD. Heck, he carried around his previous persona's severed head as a lantern. It is sad that Bray Wyatt is no longer with us...but I, Personally, would love to see his creativity and the character he created live on.

Well, ideally they would do what they did with Pinhead and Don Coscarelli would negotiate with Angus Scrimm's Estate to use the movie voice lines.

    Smoe Member Posts: 2,913

Except they have never used existing voice clips from movies before and i doubt they would start now, even Pinhead was given entirely new voicelines by his original actor.

Which is why again, i believe the most likely thing they'll do is hire a sound alike voice actor who can do a decent impression of scrimm's voice.

Personally i think a Scorpios rex would fit better than an Indoraptor.

They never used the original actor's voice at all before Pinhead either, until Clive Barker made it happen for them (which as I understand it, wasn't even something they asked him to do, it was what he wanted, hence the "complications" with the voice lines after the test server.) Just because they haven't done it before does not mean they cannot, if that's what they negotiate with Don Coscarelli and Angus Scrimm's estate.

A "Silent Hill: The Room" chapter. This would be an absolutely amazing chapter and quite possibly bring a lot more horror in-game, but Walter Sullivan is not a well-known antagonist, or at least not against the likes of the first 3 games. It would be a missed opportunity though.

Other chapters in video games I doubt will appear, but would be good additions:

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem; Haunting Ground; Fallout; Dino Crisis; Metal Gear Solid; The Suffering; Tormented Souls; Signalis; Condemned: Criminal Origins

Also, a chapter that has so much potential it's achingly ridiculous is "The Magnus Archives". That podcast really does offer so much that it's unreal.

I just know that after hearing how bad and unnaturally sounding the voicelines for the Rambo & John McClane skins in COD: Warzone was (as they only used extracted voice clips from their respective movies for their skins), i'd just hate for the same to happen for dbd should the devs ever decide to take the same approach for The Tall Man or any other licensed character in dbd.

This is the level of unnatural sounding voicelines that The Tall Man would have should DBD choose to take the same route for him as Warzone did for their skins, which is why i firmly believe a good sound alike is the better option, i'd say the exact same thing for Pinhead too if Doug Bradley wasn't available.
