There is a HUGE gap between FUN and this EVENT.

I see a lot of people saying: "This event is for fun only, stop caring about wins". I want to ask them couple questions:

In what world (game), participation in the event is making you lose a match? This is first for me.

I don't know a single online game, where there is a choice between "Participate in event and lose, or forget about event and win".

Are you fine with depiping match after match because you just want to use event tools and have some fun with? I'm not.

So if I like the event and I like to participate in this event - means that I just completely ignoring the victories and keep getting depips match after a match.

"I'm just gonna bring 2 ghosts from the void. Oh sh, I just lost 2 gens because of that, well no problem, I'm sure these ghosts will help me down them quicker... Ghosts sponds at the corners of the map for the entire match"

"Oh now they disrespect me by clicking and t-bagging, I guess I'm gonna ignore this event and sweat as much as I can"

I don't think this is what you call a: "Event for fun".

This event was not well thought through enough, let's get that right. The idea is great, but it was implemented without care.

This event is just non-existing for killers. If you try - it may cost you a match. Ask you again: Are you fine with depiping all the time, because of this event?

Why on Earth are survivors allowed to do gens, when the killer is in the other realm creating ghosts? The gens should be blocked by the Entity, while killers is in the void.

Killers are not doing their objective while they are in the void, Survivors are. They only need 1 survivor to create a ghosts, while others are doing objective.

Now we have this situation: A bunch of teleporting around survivors (they can teleport through portals around the map), with bnps sitting on gens much more than before (because they want energy) participating in the event (creating ghosts), and a poor killer player who just want to participate in this event, but they just simply have no time to do so, so they have to sweat even more.

This event is not fun, if it makes me lose a game.

The events should completely stop the main objective and make EVERYONE participate in it, without any negative outcomes.

First thing, and this has been said a lot, the big problem is that depipping should have been removed the moment it went from Ranks (which were used for matchmaking) to Grades (which are not used for matchmaking). Depipping is bad, it shouldn't still be in the game. It makes losing feel worse than it needs to and it sucks.

My problems with the event are that 1. survivors can steal event generators by sandbagging teammates, and because you only get the gen completion bonus if you're on the gen when it finishes, that's a big problem; and 2. the amount of effort required to release Haunts is pretty steep while the payoff of the Haunts is pretty minimal.

To simply answer your question. I have played killer two nights in a row now four hours each night. I have 3K hours but for the last month I have played 90% survivor. So I am a bit rusty at killer. I have played Skull Merchant, Myers and another M1 killer (1 match, don’t remember whom). I have played casually, meaning 2 hooks each before finishing people off. I went into the void most times. And guess what? I 4Kd every match! Well, 3Kd mostly because in the majority of the matches I let the final survivor get hatch or a gate because it is an event. Everyone walks away with a lot of points, everyone had fun and everyone pipped. I have only met 2-3 real sweat SWFs, eveybody else was solo or casually playing. You do not have to choose between one and the other. Stop playing as if your life depends on it and relax. Oh, and before you ask. These are my builds:

    • Skull Merchant: Corrupt, STBFL, Pain Res and Dead Lock
    • Myers: Bam, Dead Lock, Jolt and Corrupt

You can say the same with most tome challenges (survivor ones anyway) and losing progress. Especially the green glyph challenges.

But I have not been having fun with this event. I saw in the first few matches when I played as killer many survivors who would play selfishly and let their teammates die on hook as they tried to get the event objectives done and I did not like that at all. BHVR needs to think about the consequences of their event objectives before implenting things like this. Survivor queue times have been a lot longer too, yet getting the challenges done as killer for those that allow both, which is the majority of them, is so much easier.

What the game should at minimum do is pair survivors who have different challenges enabled together so you don't have multiple people doing the same thing and throw the match against sweaty try hard killers who could care less if there's an event where in the past players on both sides played more casually. This is especially a problem when a new tome or tome level opens and you have multiple survivors trying to get that same objective done which is beyond stupid. It's like it's purposely done to make it even easier for killers to face a survivor team where there is no team work because everyone is trying to beat each other out to unhooks, totem cleanses, gen repairs, etc and objectives that are not in the challenge criteria a team of survivors is working on are getting ignored. For example when everyone has an unhook challenge, the entire team slacks off gens and waits for the killer to hook teammates so they can get their unhooks & the match goes to hell. When everyone has a totem or gen repair challenge, survivors get left on hook to die or go to 2nd phase on 1st hook. And so on. I'm not a fan of that at all and it's incentivized by the game itself.

First, alot of people here have consistently asked for depipping to not be a thing anymore. So that's a whole other issue.

But re the event, look at it this way - if a killer has time to smash pumpkins, deposit energy, mess with the void/haunts, etc, as well as apply adequate gen pressure, and hook and kill survivors for a 4k, in the space of time it takes a coordinated team to genrush (minutes), then what hope would a non-coordinated, non-genrushing team have of getting *anything* done?

Games go alot smoother when both sides are messing with event objectives, but unfortunately you can't pick your opponents. So if one side doesn't want to mess with the event then the other side may need to make a choice. Either you focus on the event or you focus on a 4k/escape.

this event is again opposite of past event where killer received bloodlust instant down and remote pallet breaking as powers while survivor power were not too useful leading killer sided event.

this event is survivor sided because they did not account that killer having to do same interaction as survivor but there is only 1 killer as opposed 4 survivors. the killer ghosts should be instant.... like using hex:pentimento perk.

I think you can participate in the event as killer but you only get participate after you kill one survivor. so in many ways, this event encourages killer to tunnel 1 survivor until they die to create 3vs1 THEN participate in the event where killer can spend some time to play around with ghosts

you need to already be winning as killer to use event. if you try use event normally, you have to treat it like setting trapper's traps where you give up early game in order to potencial get haste+stealth. it is return on invest type mechanic. set up to gain reward.

A survivor can completely ignore the event and be out of the game in a matter of a couple minutes. Killers are tunneling so rampant now that it is disturbing and disgusting. There should be a punishment for killers who tunnel. Event or not - the behavior is unnecessary and unacceptable. I don’t care about strategy because survivors don’t have much choice when someone tunnels . Not every survivor is a looping god and blood lust always wins in the end. So anyone who defends these actions really deserves a good head shake.

    This event is not Survivorside.

Teammates will not repair the generator at all for the event.

My escape rate has dropped significantly.

    Not fun at all.

I hope this stupid event ends quickly.

It's a small thing, but the fact it's been a thing for so long just makes it all the more embarrassing. The mechanic has no reason to exist, none whatsoever. It adds nothing, it solves nothing, it's only there to make you feel extra bad when you have an especially bad match.

It's solo queue that is being shafted as usual. My killer games have mostly been ok, but there have been quite a few teams that went into the void for the god windows in just about every chase. And my solo queue games have been completely unplayable. I might not touch solo survivor for the rest of the event.

The event is absolutely survivor sided, but just dont interact with it until you are winning. Also blocking all gens when the killer is in there is a terrible idea, you could just sit there and hold the game hostage...
