Really annoying there is so many hooks in this game. Reduce hooks or add pallets to make it fair.

Yes it‘s so annoying. Everytime I sabo perfectly and wait until the last moment, but the killer still gets too anther hook.

There are already many areas where you can only access one hook and if that one is gone you basically have to bleed out people because you cannot reach a hook if they struggle... It is map dependant, but overall I don't think we need less hooks... Also I don't really see how there is supposed to be a connection between hooks and pallets that would require to add more pallets??

A year ago someone compiled hook and pallet densities.
If we assume the average map is 10k sqm in size and the average hook rate is 10. You get a hook rate close to 1 hook per 1k sqm.
Now if we take into consideration that edge map hooks see considerably less usage when compared to more centered hooks due to the nature of the game progressing, which results in even though you have "10 hooks to use" only 4-6 are actually valuable and usable hooks.
Id honestly argue there isn't *enough* hooks in the maps since for example, a hook on side A of suffo pit will never see use when all the action happens on side B.

A bit off topic but jesus the pallet numbers on borgo, eyrie and so on are kind of insane...

Keep in mind this was from a year ago, pre a lot of map reworks.

Reduce hooks
Because bleeding out on the ground for four minutes is so much more fun than getting a chance at hook saves.

The number of hooks is fine. Some maps need more. None need less. You are not meant to ever wiggle out on your own unless the killer decides to take you somewhere super far. The primary reason wiggle exists is so a killer can’t always take every single survivor to the basement from anywhere on the map. One single hook sabotage or hit taken is not supposed to get you a wiggle out. The killer earned a down, it is difficult to undo that on purpose.
You need a specific item or readied perk while also being in the right place and angle at the right time, an unblocked undropped pallet to be there and the downed survivor to be there and the killer to pick up on it while you’re close enough to drop it in time, or a combination of hits taken/hooks sabotaged/hooks destroyed/badly and problematically designed map RNG missing hooks in needed areas.
If it’s easy to prevent hooks, killers would just slug instead. And if it’s easy to prevent hooks, that punishes the killer for succeeding.

And if it was easy to prevent hooks, survivors would be running Unbreakable and No Mither, so even slugging wouldn't work anymore. Then the game would be completely unplayable. I've already dealt with that example too, against bully squads on maps with poor hook spawns. It's a pretty awful experience.

I appreciate all the feedback. I'm new to the game and it just seems like there are so many hooks. I've been in parties where they sabo a hook and the killer will just walk 10 feet in another direction and boom there's another hook. Slugging is another topic (it would be cool if they added a bar so kills cant camp slugged survivors or they can get up and run.) Thanks again for everyone input.

Less hooks means more slugging. Take your pick. I hear more people complaining about slugging than getting hooked.

Killers are meant to be able to hook survivors after downing them. Hooking a survivor isn't meant to be as challenging as downing them in the first place. Less hooks means a single, sloppily done Sabo would result in the killer not being able to hook the downed survivor. That won't be healthy for the game, and survivors will be on here complaining about getting slugged to death every match.

So basically you don't want the killer to be able to do their objective
