Anti Face camping has made things worse
Attaching a clip from a game today. This happens constantly.
The anti face camping system is a massive, and horrendous failure. It has done nothing but make people more toxic. In multiple games, I have watched players hook someone, and then move just outside the range, and wait.
The system as it is might as well be a joke. The fact that you not only set a range, but also told everyone what that range was has made any hope for this system being useful go out the window. The restrictions on carried, and slugged survivors pausing the unhook timer has made this even worse. Killers will now kill someone trying to unhook, and then slug them there.... then if they crawl away, carry them back and drop them by the hook while they continue slugging.
In my opinion, you either need to implement an adaptive system that increases the range of killer detection based on their behavior, or you need to implement a different system entirely and strip out what you are doing right now. If you truly want to stop camping and tunneling, they shouldn't be encouraged by making them the win condition.
Please see the clip attached. This is NOT an isolated incident, and is just 1 example of daily matches that happen like this.
Clip was too big, link:
Edit:
My biggest suggestion: The higher the bar goes, the higher the chance you can unhook yourself in first stage.
Ie: 30% bar full, 10% chance to unhook.... 50% bar full, 25% chance, 75% bar full, 50% chance, etc.
The range should also vary based on if it is in a basement, or if the killer is a ranged killer or not. Huntress, for example can hit someone with a hatchet immediately off hook.
Barring any of these changes, slugged and/or carried survivors should not stop the bar from climbing. This is open to rampant abuse, as seen here.

If they’re not facecamping, it’s not a problem.

My point is that the anti facecamping mechanic has done nothing except make the issue they were trying to solve worse.
If you can watch that clip, and tell me that is not a problem, I don't know what you are talking about.

So, I watched the clip, and I hope you don't mind but I do have to ask about a vital piece of context that's missing: Why were you near that hook?
Not an accusation, I just need the answer to that question before I can fairly weigh in.

I was trying to unhook. He decloaked from right outside the range of the anti facecamp, and came in and hit me. My shadowplay didn't record far enough back, but I was trying to avoid trading because this wraith had already been playing super scummy (the dudes name is literally "scum").
Sorry for the lack of context. By the time I had thought to hit the ctrl - f10 and save, it was past the beginning of the chase.

Well, to be fair, the system is designed to make sure you can guarantee a trade, that's meant to be the bare minimum value you can get if you don't actively work against it.
It kinda looks like the killer was proxy camping nearby, saw you, and then capitalised on your reluctance to go for a trade. While that's still annoying behaviour from the killer player, I don't think it's fair to consider it a failure of the AFC system considering the context.
Dick move on his part but not a failure of the system, which would've worked if he'd actually been facecamping. Forcing trades is meant to be how you counter stuff like this.

My most pointed issue with the system is the fact that he is incentivized to go, pick me up off the ground, and drop me by the hook so he can facecamp.
Imo, at the very least a carried / slugged person should not stop the progression of the bar. My issue is not with trading, my issue is that this new system has made the way people play way worse, and has led to more behavior like this where someone blatantly takes advantage of the mechanic (which was designed to prevent swarming) in order to enable them to camp the person on the hook.

How did the anti face camp system make things worse? Also you being slugged in a corner next to a guy on hook at 4 gens guarantees a win for the killer anyway if he wants it.

My point, though, is that you wouldn't have had to deal with that situation at all if you'd gone for a trade. This system doesn't encourage playing this way, it's just a gap that it doesn't punish it either.
A carried survivor should 100% stop the bar, because that's going to happen far more frequently when a killer isn't trying to camp or abuse the system. I could see slugged survivors not slowing it down, but even so, I don't think that would've really fixed this scenario either.
We can't see the hooked survivor's bar, and they actively pushed themselves to second stage, so it's entirely possible that even without the slowdown from you being slugged nearby, they wouldn't have unhooked before stage two anyway. As you describe it, the Wraith was proxy camping, which isn't what this system is designed to combat at all.

In a LARGE chunk of my games, everyone survivors and killers are playing like more of a, for lack of a better term, piece of #########.
Survivors are gen rushing, Killers are camping and tunneling. Everyone is min maxing everything.
IMO this became way worse when this system got implemented. It almost seemed to, idk, just make people angrier about the game. I can't meme around, I have to bring try hard perks, and prioritize gens. Solo Q is even worse then it was.
That is fair enough, I am mostly just frustrated that this system seems to have promised something, and all we are seeing is people work around it and both sides play like asshats. I used to be able to at least have a good time in solo q (in the case of this clip, a 2 man), but now if you don't see 3 teammates on a gen at the start, you are going to lose. The killer seems compelled to camp and tunnel at 5 gens for the same reason.
Imo the system is a failure because it has taken these tendencies, and made them worse.
I also firmly disagree with slugged / carried survivors counting towards the bar. At the very least, can we compromise that there should be a similar "grace period" like there is for the killer after the initial hook? Maybe a 10 second period before the survivor who is slugged on the ground stops preventing the bar from climbing.
This clip is not an isolated incident. And to be clear, I don't think that camping is a problem in a lot of cases, but the overall mechanic in my opinion has further polarized and made worse a community that was already in pretty rough shape. I can't even explain why, but everyone is just... meaner.

slugged survivors should not stop the bar nor should carried survivors. But camping wasn't the real problem that should've been addressed anyway. Tunneling is first and foremost dbds biggest problem next to mft and killers should not be rewarded for tunneling they should be punished. mft should be deleted.
I say this as someone who really only likes to player killer. I don't play like that and one of the reasons why I choose not to play survivor is because my killer brethren are weak and tunnel at 5 gens. I understand if you're at 1 gen left. But at 5 gens? Nah that is uncalled for and with wait times the way they are for survivor it is just wrong to play like that.

That's not even camping to be honest
You tried to crawl in an area with no hooks, he has one hook, one down, two injuried , he tried to move you near the hook to have a better view of his defence area
What do you expect him to do ?To turn off his brain ?
