They tend to do balance/perk changes in midchapter releases rather than chapter releases, so we really shouldn’t expect them to do it for the chapter release. Though it is possible especially considering there is no new survivor coming this time and they already confirmed there will be a change coming for MfT?

We won´t see a MfT change for at least another 2+ years.

Eh my only thing is it with hope since becoming 110% is a bit nuts for a survivor. And considering we have perks that have one condition that are already good. But then MFT has 2 insane conditions. The 3% and the endurance. So probably the endurance could leave to.

  • Aven_Fallen
    Aven_Fallen Member Posts: 16,344

Yeah, IMO removing the Endurance (even if it really rarely comes up and if you want Endurance while picking up a Survivor you can rather run Buckle Up and For the People, but those are at least 2 Perk Slots instead of one) and not making Haste-Perks stack with each other should be fine.

I think it would also be nice if they add a notification for the Killer that the Survivor has MfT. All other Exhaustion-Perks are pretty straight forward (except for DH for the first time, but this is ok, the Perk is nerfed enough) and noticeable.

But I fear that the Devs will touch the Movement Speed in any way and this would probably just kill the Perk. And I dont really think that Survivors can get one good Perk in years and then it gets nerfed into oblivion via mass-complaints. Would be a bad sign.

  • Aven_Fallen
    Aven_Fallen Member Posts: 16,344

Yeah, most likely. There is always a current "thing" which makes Killers lose games. Currently MfT and I guess, once this is nerfed, they go after WoO or other popular Perks.

I dont think it would achieve much. It is one of the Perks which bridges the gap between Solos and SWFs a bit, because then you can see as Solo-Survivor which Pallets have been used. Which is the main reason to run this Perk IMO (I dont run it btw.).

However, at one point the description was bugged and there have been instances where nerfs were forshadowed by this (where the new description was in the game and the Perk/Add On was changed to this later).

    jesterkind Member Posts: 7,962

To be fair, the description was bugged specifically to be an earlier iteration of the perk, so I don't know if you can fairly say it's a foreshadowing for a change the perk might receive.

Also, I was going to reply separately before I realised it's your post too- survivors have had more than one good perk in years. Even Gabriel came with Troubleshooter too, MFT is not the only good perk survivors have gotten in the past year or so of chapters. That doesn't mean I want it nerfed to the ground, but I also don't think that's a good defence.

I mean looking at original CoH where id literally hit a survivor and move away for 10 seconds and they were full health maybe even with sloppy active. There might be some ptsd with how long it took for it to finally reach a fine spot (a year) same of the fear of going back to a gen kick meta after Call of brine overcharge. Which took 8 months.

In before they nerf the Endurance effect on it to 6/7/8s. Or replace it with another haste.

they said themselves they had a change ready incase mft becomes a problem back when it first released. there is ZERO reason its suddenly taking this long to nerf. I genuinely believe they're trying to delay the nerf for as long as possible.

I think it will be soonest the first mid chapter in 2024. I Don't think they are in rush with it.

But what would be the reason then that those people who already lost a lot of games before MfT and think that MfT is now the reason they lose games... are still losing games?

    Oh, I know this one:

It's because of dead hard, no... Wait, DS... Now it's dead hard again. Hold up, it's prove thyself and brand new part. Oh wait, it's circle of healing...

Someone already said it, but it'll be sprint burst/lithe or whatever new perk comes along. At least that's the next thing as long as complaining on the forums incessantly is easier than examining your own gameplay.

They should remove the endurance part and keep perks to one thing unless there's a downside or something to offset the second effect, but that's it.

I mean... Twins? Have been on the list for how many decades?

EDIT: also just noticed, that the "soon" is 2 months old😅

WoO doesn't need a nerf so enough of that. I do agree about the rest and they should add ultimate weapon to the list since I'm tired of being forced to use calm spirit to counter a perk thats basically free hunting

  • Tsulan
    Tsulan Member Posts: 15,095

Cross progression? I don´t know, some things simply take ages around here. If thats good or bad is... well depends on the side someone is playing on. I mean sure, the game has gotten big. So some things probably can´t be changed as fast, as when the game was way smaller. It just feels inconsistent

  • CrackedShevaMain
    CrackedShevaMain Member Posts: 505

Seriously. People complain MFT is unfair because all it takes is “being hurt” while Ultimate Weapon takes nothing but opening a locker. Every one minute the killer can simply open and locker and know where you are and it works for 30 seconds with only a 30 second cooldown.

Reminder that WoO has gone up to 35% usage.

Also, these are the perks its combo most with.

Okay. I would put cross progression in another category though as it’s not really comparable (if we can believe that it’s truly out of their hands - I really don’t get what technical issue is in the way currently..)

I still don’t think it’s reasonable to believe a change for MfT is more than 2 years away. Idk. We will se.

  • Tsulan
    Tsulan Member Posts: 15,095

DS? CoH? Took quite some time to change them. Apart from some minor changes. Sure, a small change for MfT might be around the corner. But it could be something like reducing the endurance timer after healing someone or something like that. But we´ll see.

You know, pessimists are optimists with experience.

to be fair, I do not remember them stating to bring a change to these perks ‚soon‘ and then didn’t deliver in time. Might be just my bad memory i guess.

though i wouldn’t say i am inexperienced when it comes to DbD and their promises and releases..

I'm not sure I understand the implication of this post. Is this meant to illustrate that Windows is a problem, or something else?

Legitimate question, I can't tell what you mean.

adrenaline is fine and woo isn't a problem by itself, maps are. but i really hope ftp-bu and mft gets the attention they need from bhvr.

2 out of the last 3 killers have had perk changes come with them so I’d say it’s not out of the question. Any Means Necessary and Eruption got changes in the Skull Merchant release, and Singularity's release had buffs for Pop and Deja Vu.

Take a long look at the perks people run with WoO.

For being a ''''newbie'''' perk, it sure doesn't go along with other newbie perks like Self-care, Spine Chill, Kindred or Urban Evasion.

  • jesterkind
    jesterkind Member Posts: 7,962

I'm still not sure what the conclusion is supposed to be here?

WoO doesn't enable those perks or make them meta-tier, most of them either were before it joined them or would be without it, so that can't be the reason the perk is problematic.

WoO isn't even close to on par with those perks in terms of raw strength, so that can't be the thing we're discussing.

The synergy that it has with those perks is extant, sure, but it doesn't outstrip the fact that the perk doesn't really do much so it's not like it's a 'more than the sum of its parts' combo with any perk on that list...

It just seems like you're trying to claim Windows is a problematic perk, but I can't tell what your reasoning is meant to be. Everything relevant seems like it doesn't apply to this particular perk.

(Also, Kindred is not a newbie perk, it's a solo queue perk. No matter how skilled or knowledgeable you are, you will benefit a lot from Kindred in solo queue. Separate nitpick but I wanted to mention it.)

The idea of the perk is not a bad one but it needs a serious rework. It should really activate when the killer opens a locker within a certain range from the survivors.

Am i the only one who thinks WoO is unhealthy for the game. People are so crutched on it they can't play without it. Also people tend to run from pallet to pallet on automode and throw every wood down leaving nothing for others.

I just don't think its a healthy perk. Needs cooldown so people learn to think at least a little.

While I and others likely share your sentiment, we're not the gatekeepers of 'forcing' others to play with brains. They play to enjoy like we do. WoO is fine. In fact, let them lose a perk slot for that. I'm sure that has been said, but it's a good statement imo.

That said, it's also in the top player's builds. So, it clearly isnt that braindead. I'm trying to understand it still, but that 'exact' knowledge vs map knowledge seems to be worthwhile to them, so I wonder...

Don't think I'll try it really as I can't drop my DH/Adrenaline/Sole/calm setup lol

I mostly talk about the new players and less experienced survivors. I see it daily someone running pressing W dropping pallets leaving loop going for another dropping pallet.. you know how it goes. At 3 gens theres 2 pallets left in the map for others :D

Never used WoO myself, you learn the pallet placements as you play there isnt that much RNG with them.

I'm a valid enjoyer of MFT DH we'll make it and whatever the forth perk i keep changing that to what i feel like. Usually resilience sometimes off the record sometimes Adre. I do hope MFT gets nerfed or at least the haste stacking with MFT + hope gets fixed, or even better haste shoudn't stack at all.

    Spare_Them_Mori_Me Member Posts: 1,761

Agreed! Those types will always be around lol. Sadly, a good killer will see this and just sort of follow them so it keeps happening.

WoO just seems way too low power for an experienced player to need over other perks. Almost ANY other perk.

Maybe its a flex. Maybe? lol

WoO and Adrenaline are absolutely fine, though. You only get value from Adrenaline if you’re injured when the last gen pops (which isn’t always the case). Some killers with insta-down powers directly negate Adrenaline, anyway, and there are whole end-game builds/specific perks (NOED, Terminus, etc) which, again, counter Adrenaline.

WoO got a nerf not so long ago, right? Plus, it’s a fantastic perk for beginners who don’t understand map/loop layouts. As someone who plays 50/50 killer-survivor, no amount of WoO changes a player who can’t loop. Does it extend their chases a little bit and give them a clue where to run to next? Sure. But as I said, no amount of meta perks hide bad plays, imo.

BHVR have said MfT will get a nerf. I 100% agree it does need a nerf, too. Maybe it should be on a timer like Lucky Break, or it can only be activated once for 60 seconds per game? There are plenty of ways to balance the perk without completely ruining it and making it redundant.

Is WoO good for Solo'Q? Would make sense with seeing what is already dropped lol. Thanks for this short explanation :)
