Upcoming Chapter, will there be a nerf for MFT ?

I'm tired of the argument of WoO being a fantastic perk for beginners. Beginners don't use WoO, it is a Kate's perk not a Jake or Claudette perk for example. Unless the player unlock Kate as first survivor with their first 9k iris they're no longer beginners when they unlock and prestige Kate. Also if you see the people using WoO they are usually using it with Resilience and/or MfT and if you check their profiles they are most likely to have 300 hours or more.

Cough "dh" cough...

As already mentioned by someone else and responded by me: I do not remember them saying they will change it โsoonโ and then did not deliver.
I am not saying this hasnโt happened, but if so it slipped my mind.
can you provide the source though?

My hypothesis of why people hate ultimate weapon right now is : blindness blocks WoO.
Stealth has long lost its welcome in dbd.
Ultimate weapon negates the most used survivor perk right now. For people that use this perk to automatize the chase, Ultimate Weapon destroys their preferred style of gameplay.
A friend of mine is currently using third seal to test this theory.

I noticed when i played killer and used UW that people that had WoO were weaker in chase while being blinded since they could not find straight ways to pallets. There were people that had a lot of hours in the game like me and were good in chase without woO and with it since they already knew the maps, but some even with 4000 hours got completely lost while blinded. This is why i think WoO is unhealthy since it lets people play on automode and they wont learn or memorize anything.

It's more of a general sentiment.
Made for this is very similar to old dh in that it has super unfun counterplay (up to no counterplay at all)and is super easy to use (shift w).
Due to dh being in an unhealthy position for that long, only to be buffed (hit validation, which was a downright insult to the killer role animation wise in my opinion) and the changed after almost 6 years to be almost as strong to finally get nerfed to a more healthy state, many players (me included) have a grim outlook on this perks future.

Agree.

Calm spirit bombs Ultimate weapon, and I've been loving it. But it still blinds me. Such a wonderful package of a perk to be filled to the brim with usefulness!
I dont have a perk that denies being blind. Closest thing I can think of is Vigil to reduce its duration.
That said, I'd be curious to your friend's experiment results. I like using third seal on Trapper and it wrecks. Especially Solo'Q. Which.. I dont feel good about. But I'm Trapper. IDGAF

Calm spirit only counters the tracking part. Yes. I'm fine with a perk having obscure counterplay. Look at corrupt intervention: no mither + plot twist.
So far, he claimed that most survivors have huge problems playing tiles and planning pathing when under the influence of third seal. Not good for the WoO - defenders.

Yeah. But isnโt that completely irrelevant to the topic I was talking about (a change -not buff or nerf- is supposed to come soon while I said itโs unreasonable to assume this change will come in 2+ years)
I know that needed changes in general come way too slowly and that there are plenty of balance decisions that are very questionable. I did not try to defend this behavior, I even said itโs appropriate to criticize them for thatโฆ.

Well, the post itself is a question : will there be a nerf to mft next patch.
Due to how long it took to dethrone dh, just for its ugly sibling to emerge, my answer is: I'm not too optimistic about the near future of this perk.
I'm sorry if that was somehow off topic.

I am fine with Adrenaline and Windows.
I'd be satisfied if they tweak Made For This, BU combined with FTP and remove repair bonus from Resi.

I didn't lose a lot of games before MfT released, I still don't lose a lot of games. It still doesn't stop me from seeing how strong and unbalanced that perk is, by itself, not because it stacks with other haste effects

If they make it so killers don't lose bloodlust when breaking pallets MFT wont be a problem anymore or maybe lose just one level of it instead of the entire stack.

Its actually pretty easy: WoO shows a MFT user where to run in order to waste the most time and be the most efficient. And THATS the reason a lot of killer players are so fed up with it: they are forced to chase after survivors that are on auto pilot with often no means of catching them, because MFT throws the carefully crafted balance of the last years, that apparently took the killer and survivor movement speed difference into account, out of the window.
Its not that MFT is the first good survivor perk in years and now is in danger of getting nerfed because of this fact alone, its in danger of getting nerfed, because it touched of the corner stones of the game, the inherent speed difference and how survivors and killers play around these (vaulting windows also plays into this) and breaks it in two. Some things shouldn't be touched and survivor speed is one of this.
It feels very strange that BHVR was so very careful with Dark Theory's 2% Haste and then suddenly ran with it and slapped 3% with no timer, no cooldown, no limited condition on it. Part of me understands and feels the pain of "we get one good perk and then it gets complained non stop and nerfed into oblivion", but you must take the context of this "goodness" into account. Just as food for thought: if the one good survivor perk was a single use resurrection of a dead survivor, this would be obviously too powerful and this couldn't possible stay in the game, nonwithstanding that it was "the first good survivor perk in years".
MFT is so extremely frustrating to play against, because the whole games design wasn't Made For This and way too many survivors get away with things that they shouldn't, just thanks to this 3%. Its no "ohhhh, they took THIS perk that only works in this and that situation and then worked for that situation to happen, thus outplaying me" or even a "ohhhh, they took this niche perk thats basically useless in 3 out of 4 games and now it worked like a charm", but its a perk thats so good, that 1/3 of the whole survivor population runs it non-stop and in the higher-tier games its not uncommon to see it 3 or even 4 times in the same game.
Just for fun, here are my own stats around MFT from my personal Nightlife account:

Perhaps I'm missing something in what you're trying to convey to me, but it looks a lot like your entire response to me is about MFT and not about Windows in any way at all beyond the first sentence.
2 -
Yes, because Windows is specifically used to be run together with MFT. A nerf to MFT will most likely also lead to a big drop in the use of WoO, because MFT users love to run on autopilot, apparently.
0 -
Oh, gotcha. Not to be rude or anything, but that was kind of my point? Windows isn't a problematic perk, and doesn't need to be nerfed, the perks it's often run alongside aren't an indicator that it's a problem in any way.
4 -
Oh sorry ^^ I just saw you a couple of times commenting on WoO and asking questions and I just added my own limited insight.
Yeah, even though 43% of all the survivors I verse use WoO, the perk in itself isn't much of a problem, though you kinda feel it when a survivor auto-pilots and just takes you from pallet to pallet. But thats okay, I was never in camp "nerf WoO" ... though I am one of the leaders in camp "nuke MFT and I am willing to sacrifice anything they demand of my side for it".

I play both sides. I try to clarify that because you get labeled a survivor main or killer main on a dime. but...
Adrenaline "needs" a nerf? You get value out of it once per game and that's IF all 5 gens get done and IF you're already injured. You get the speed boost even if already healed but you may not even need it for that 5 seconds if the killer isn't chasing you. It's one of the good perks you actually get with the game. Not everyone can buy DLC after DLC for perks. And I barely use Adrenaline BTW.
I get MFT needing something. Either take away its endurance, or don't make it stack with things like Hope. Done. But doing anything with its 3% will only make the perk unusable (which is what killer mains want, but I don't really mind running against it).
BU and FTP... sure, I can see something needs to be done. End of the day it's something best used by coordinated SWFs. You are NOT losing games to this by solo queue survivors. And it's wasting someone's time having to follow their teammate getting chased. So only 2 survivors are free instead of three. But there isn't really a counter to it either like if said teammate was following to get a flashlight save. Both survivors are given a free hit so the killer is screwed either way. So sure. I agree with something needing to be done.
WoO isn't really OP either IMO (another perk I barely use BTW). Again, what can really be done to it without just killing the perk? Make the aura reading on a cool down? That's fine I guess. Not needed, but sure. But if you're getting roasted by survivors because they have WoO you just have to put in more hours. They were going to likely outloop you anyway. Nerfing every survivor perk under the sun that gives some value isn't a substitute for experience. And for killer, if you play a wide variety, just has a higher skill ceiling. It's ok to lose and not get 4Ks. It's ok to not escape every game. Tweeks are needed sometimes, but sometimes people just want the game on easy mode.
So I agree that half of these perks need some kind of change. And MFT is already confirmed to get something done. It will either kill the perk, or they will do something reasonable but killer mains won't be happy. Not every survivor perk is going to get the DH treatment, sorry to say. And if it does, it will take a long time.

If I remember correctly, you are a Nurse-Main. And since you have something way more busted than MfT it would be quite strange to lose games because of MfT.
Jokes aside - the sad reality is - at least in this forum - that Killers have a "current thing" which is the reason why they lose games. I am pretty sure if those Killers would provide gameplay, people here can give constructive feedback on why they lost. But the people complaining about MfT dont want that. They want to vent because they lost a game and the "current thing" is MfT.
Once this is nerfed (and it will be nerfed, given BHVRs track record it will probably end up as a pretty useless perk), there will be another "current thing". And while you are clearly not part of the majority and claim that you lose games due to MfT or another "current thing" (which I honestly appreciate, I like reading your posts), sadly the majority will just complain instead of trying to improve.

I main Trapper and I feel like I have to use Zhansin tactic because of many new/rework/adding maps.
- Reworked Shelter wood with a main building
- Updated Mother dwelling
- Updated Temple of Purgation
- Toba landing
- Reworked Cowshed
- Reworked Rancid Abattoir
- Reworked Torment creek
- Nostromo wreckage
- Reworked Shattered square
- Add in new Coal tower
- Add in new Groaning storehouse
- Add in new Ironworks
- Add in new Suffo pits
- Add in new Shelter woods
I dont know if they're going to add another variation of the Game. And Garden of Joy reworking with Swamp updating are on the list.
WoO is just really needed these days.

I am, but I play a ton of M1s, mostly xeno, wraith and demo (+Wesker).
I got the screenshot because the Feng called me a camper (I didn't) and a slugger (maybe?) In my steam profile, anyway this was in eyrie, a map pretty bad for wraith, yet I won against 4 MFT+woo.
I also play survivor most of my times because I'm always in vc with friends, and none of us runs meta perks yet we escape a good share of our games.
Ultimately, while I agree many people here found in MFT their new excuse to why they lost, we can also say that MFT is the new DH: mostly useless in the hands of the average/casual survivor but it does make a ton of difference in the hands of better ones. And if I gotta be honest, while I don't have any problems with WoO per se, i do find it unreal how it's literally a "turn your brain off" combo if paired with MFT, even for the worst players who can't even learn pallet spawns

I totally agree with Made For This and Buckle Up. Made For This is stronger than Boon: Dark Theory - you waste 12 Seconds to get 2% Haste, you do nothing but get 3% Haste + Endurance on top of it. That's not the balance I was looking for. The big issue imo is not the haste itself but the fact that there is currently no cap to it. The endurance has to go though because that perk is right now overloaded and I don't think is healthy. Buckle Up is unhealthy too but I am sure everyone understands why. I just hope they change it to something healthier but not dead again. Maybe give both a Haste Effect instead of Endurance (but only when we have a haste cap).
About your other points I totally disagree. For The People is fine as is, WoO is a simple information perk and you basically need it on some maps since the rules for pallet spawns are very weird depending on what map you are. There is nothing unhealthy about it. I know Adrenaline is not liked by the killer community but personally I dont see a big issue. It's a one time use perk that maybe works in a game and then for a health state.
And I just want to point out - I know it's still super cool to bash BHVR for there balance choices but I think they improved a lot over the time and they are reacting much faster than ever before. I totally understand when people don't trust them anymore, as someone who playes this game since release I know what... questionable choices they have made, but I don't think it's fair to constantly ######### talk them and never give positive feedback. But that's just me - just please be kind to each other.

so wheres my 100k bp
3 -
right here babes
1 -
okay but consider i couldve had 500k
2 -
you do realize that i'm complaining about perks that are added/reworked after the dh nerf right? so no i'm not coming for new perks to complain about but nice try.
0 -
I stand corrected.
Devs nerfed it hard and much sooner than excpected.
0 -
2 years went by sooner than expected I guess ๐

Now after rereading the whole nerf thing. Its still pretty strong and alings perfectly with DH. Since they removed the not being exhausted requirement, it could even be stronger than before.
So those 2 years might have been a bit to optimistic on my part. ๐
