why do i have to wait about a month to link my accounts to behaviour

back when twitch drops came out, I made a bhvr account to claim them, but it wasn't working. I decided to make a new one so I unlinked my Xbox and twitch. Now that cross progression is out, I want to link my 1000+ hour Xbox account to my 19 hour steam account but because I unlinked my Xbox account now I can't re link them until next month. if there is a way to undo this, I would truly appreciate it if someone would let me know how

    Cross Progression is not out for Steam and Xbox accounts. You can link the accounts to your BHVR accounts but that doesn’t include cross progression (and frankly idk what it even does)

    and after unlinking an account there just is a period where you can’t relink a new account. It’s to avoid abuse of this feature
