So... Are we gonna see a slew of Tricksters after this chapter or nah?
I've legit never played Trickster, but this update might just change that for me. What are your thoughts on the update? Personally, having 4.6 m/s speed making him not as reliant on his blades, while also being able to use main event EVERY CHASE if I want sounds pretty sweet.

Probably, no recoil and being 4.6m/s is a game changer.

I bought him and a slew of other killers with the 50% off deal. Was planning on lvling him EVENTUALLY for perks sake, but this... might make me lvl him sooner.

i really hope so i love this killer a lot and it disappoints me that he's so rare.
and Many console players wanted to try him but couldn't so hopefully now they can.

To be honest, no recoil and a faster movement speed is exactly how I would have buffed him. I am a little worried it will make him a bit too strong, though. Going against a good Trickster is already a pretty oppressive experience.
No recoil should make him an easier Killer to play with a controller for sure, and a very welcome change. I do enjoy playing as Trickster from time to time because I love the character, but I can't say I've had much success with him (then again, I would be bad at ranged Killers even if I didn't play with a controller). I look forward to seeing if I can do a little better with him.
I'll be playing him more often, so I guess that's a yes from me.

I think making him 4.6 m/s is a mistake but we'll see. I hate playing against Trickster and I'm going to hate seeing more of him and buffed too.

Depends on what the new killer coming out this chapter is. But considering nothing else, Trickster should see more play because the changes actually give a reason to play him.

Do you play AS him or are you simply hoping he gets no love since you hate playing AGAINST him?

I'm definitely the second one

Kinda concerned with how little it'll take to get Main Event, especially if you use the 2 add-ons. I feel like he's going to be very oppressive combined with that extra speed. Everything else seems nice though and I'm looking forward to watching some gameplay.
Camping with him got buffed so I'm sure there will be many complaints on PTB release and he'll likely be nerfed after all is said and done. Overall it's nice to see some buffs for him though.
I think other killers needed buffs before him but again, still nice.
2 -
Feel like that's not a good way to balance things. "Let's make it SO unfun to play as that nobody ever picks him".

As someone who adores Trickster but couldn't play him because of how twrrible he felt on console, Im excited. Removing recoil is really gonna fix a lot of his issues in my opinion. Prepare to see my swim trunks Trickster with his prestiege bat and golden face mask
1 -
The thing is the changes being done are largely just some number adjustments with a few addons being tweaked. So while other killers could use the help more, Trickster's stuff was likely quicker to finish.
Though Trickster really did need the help, because live Trickster sits in a weird place.

I just tried my first match as him. Didn't really know how bad that recoil would feel. Was playing on controller and yeah... I went for alot of basic attacks.
1 -
I think it's a trap. He's been buffed, he'll be played a lot, and then he'll be nerfed to Atlantis. I can't trust this. I'm very suspicious of this.

With the reworked addons they showed you can run a combination that makes so that he only has to hit THREE blades to have main event. Obviously we won't know till the PTB, but man that sounds crazy
1 -
Someone else brought it up but I wonder if that 6 blades for main event is a typo and is instead supposed to be 16* blades. Basically halving the amount we currently have seems more likely of a change then a simple six blades, it just seems like a crazy buff otherwise.
You'd literally get Main Event in every single chase, especially with the 2 add-ons.
1 -
Some of his addons do sound rather concerning. I also have a bad feeling that Trickster will be the new Skull Merchant. Survivors will hate this killer so much they immediately give up before anything even happens. Obviously, I hope that won't happen but seeing as Trickster is already quite nasty to play against and he might become as strong a camper as Bubba with this change, I am worried.

No Way Out is a great perk!

Ive always liked the idea of trickster, but I havent played him since release. Its all because of that damn recoil. Now that it will be gone I can actually enjoy playing the killer.
2 -
I've tried playing as Trickster, but I am on console, so it sucks. Yes I do hate playing against him because I'm not the most skilled survivor and I play exclusively SoloQ so a good Trickster can be incredibly oppressive when I play against him.
But on top of that, I also just hate Trickster as a character. I think he's lame, corny, and tacky.
1 -
they combined way too many changes - which is a pity.
As is Trickster won't go to live (New Main Event + no recoil = Main Event default and hardly need to reload. Add to that his (then even buffed) ability to hard camp from a distance on the vast majority of maps and you just turned survivors into punching bags that are allowed to hold M1 while they wait their turn.
Thing is, with that many variables its gonna be impossible to tell which numbers need to change. Only some of the changes going through will also invite criticism.
2 -
i don't think he'll get played at all because their changes are not making better ranged killer. they're making him a better m1 killer with side-grade range option. It is like. here's some ranged ability but it is not really good so here, you can be 4.6 m/s because your not really good type thing.
if you m1 with him now, you'll be m1 even more after update as 4.6 m/s.

Removing recoil? Good.
Needless to mention how frustrating it is to play as console and accurate aim didn't matter at all.
4.6m/s? I frankly thought this could be too much but increasing laceration meter 6 to 8 and reducing the time to decrease, I think it's acceptable. His 4.4m/s speed is pretty unplayable on certain loops to utilize his power even if he is ranged killer. About current version, he's probably the only 110% killer who desperately needs Bamboozle. Also don't forget his speed while holding knife is slow and cooldown takes time.
Main event? The only thing I am concerned. With new add-ons he can proc main event with 3 successful shots. I know duration reduced to half but I'd rather increase the requirement to 24 rather than 6 and give control of when you can use it. It just doesn't make sense he has reload mechanic and main event is very cheap.

I hope not. As easy as that killer is to kite, I absolutely hate it.

I just wanted to see what he was like, had no plans to become a Trickster master right b4 an update. Plus the 0 recoil after update will make it EASIER, not HARDER to throw knives.
0 -
I've always wanted to play Trickster but it was too hard for me. I don't really care about Main Event, but I've been wishing for faster movement speed and no recoil for a long time -- excited to try it.

I feel like comparing him to SM isn't quite right. Ppl DC against skull merchant to dodge a super long game. I feel like it would be more akin to when ppl would DC against a nurse after hearing that scream claiming she has no counterplay.
0 -
The reasons are different, the outcome the same. I compared him to SM in that regard because she was the first killer I could think of that survivors dc pretty regularly against.
1 -
I hope not, trickster is one of the most insufferable killers in the game, these changes amplify that even further, as if solo q wasn't insufferable enough
To play as he will be more fun, but even then it doesn't take away that his power takes barely any skill at all and is pretty bland overall still, which I dont enjoy all that much
1 -
Do you play as him?
1 -
Yes, and I already ready to pretend that my game is lagging and I cant even loop
and that my game is freezing and I cant hit the struggle skill checks
0 -
i don't see him being 4.6 making it through the ptb. I play trickster so I'm glad he finally getting some love! With that being said....he gonna be broken as hell 😂
0 -
He’s annoying. He’s going to be more annoying now. 🤗
0 -
Let's take a killer that in the right hands is massively oppressive and make him more widely oppressive. Peak BHVR logic.
0 -
Depends on how much of the changes make it to live. All I could think though when I read "dodging Blades could feel inconsequential since so few would injure you" in the patch notes was 'wait you guys are dodging the knives??'
0 -
I play any non-main killer during their release or when they receive changes or im forced to play them (archives, daily rituals etc.) also sometimes if I'm bored
Trickster is one of those that I really dont enjoy, all he does is just throw knives slowly and... yeah that's it really, there's barely any depth to him nor anything cool or interesting for me
0 -
It depends on how fast he move when he throwing the knife.
0 -
Would he be better on console after update? I want to finish some old Tome challanges and I think there are some Trickster challanges from before I have not done since I don't play Trickster only bought him for the perks.
0 -
The removal of recoil will make him easier to play on console. Aiming will still be difficult but not as much as before.
