Pig and Trickster. I feel kinda insulted.

We have all read about the changes coming in the Ptb.
We (all) rejoiced about mft nerfs and maps shrinking.
The changes to trickster seem to be rather controversial from what I've seen so far.
Most of this is about his movement speed and the changes to main event.
However, one "small" line made me honestly kinda frustrated.
Due to trickster being a 4.6 movement speed killer, his terror radius will be increased to 32 meters to keep it in line with the other killers.
This has happened before.
Let's take you back to a time where one of dbd's biggest memes was born. Early 2019.
Patch 2.5.0 to be precise.
This patch marked the beginning of a line of nerfs for the Pig throughout the whole year.
From the beartraps to her ambush.
The nerf that I dislike the most is the one that got introduced first. The pigs terror radius got increased from 28 meters to 32 meters due to her movement speed being 4.6.
Why do I dislike it? Because of Wesker and Sadako. Both are 4.6 and have either bigger or smaller terror radii.
Now that Trickster gets the same treatment, this old inconsistency came back to my mind.
Why do these two killers get the special treatment but Pig and Trickster have to be "put in line" with the other killers?
In my opinion, the Pig needs her terror radius reduced to 28 meters. Just like it used to be.
BHVR basing their balancing decisions on this rule seems weird, due to inconsistencies with the more recently introduced killers.

I agree, pig really deserves some buff. Especially the crouch. I once thought about her being able to break pallet, like blight.

There are so many different buffs I'd like for Amanda... I'd be happy to take any of them...
- Terrror Radius 28m
- Crouch speed basekit increase
- Ambush charge rate increase
- Ambush vaults pallets
- Ambush break pallets (how I dunno, but I'd like it)
I'd even be happy to give up to losing jigsaw box progress when survivors are interrupted for 2 of these... π

I mean for Wesker it makes kind of sense and for sadako it does not really matter, since she is not walking around manifested anyway unless maybe in chase? I mean I agree that the argument cannot be made for consistancy anymore but I don't really see much of an issue there... Sadakos terror radius could be global and it would not matter in my opinion.
As for Pig changes yes, there is so much to do there, make her ambush stronger and more usable, that is the main point why I would go back to playing her, because I for sure don't play her for m1 gameplay + beartraps.

What I mean is, that one stealth killer gets the special terror radius treatment but the other isn't. Pig is designed to be a stealth killer. Why is it so important for her to follow that "rule" but not for Sadako?

Because basically Pig does not traverse the map in her stealth mode, since it is way too time consuming and slow, whereas for sadako it does not make a difference and she is not completely silent no matter which mode she is in, whereas pig is while crouching.

If you think Pig needs a buff in comparison to Trickster, then check her recent killrates and playrates

Wow because those killrates say so much...Basically everyone runs the addons to make the beartraps more deadly, it is really not that hard to get a head pop under that circumstances. Besides that I didn't necessarily want a buff, I would be fine if the bear traps become worse if that means the dash will be more usefull, I don't care if the killer is weak or strong, but I want to be able to use the power, and for Pig that's just not really possible, because as soon as you crouch they just run...

pig has undetectable during crouch. the problem is movement speed in crouch. it is too slow and BVHR has no willingness buff pig because they want keep strength of reverse bear traps as primary source of effective for Pig. pig does not need lower TR. she needs faster movement in crouch. her effective tr is 0 permanently but drawback is too severe to use the advantage.

I don't play without both addons for like over a year at this point.
I still have 3000 of them each...

Because she's a second objective killer. They always do better in the kill rates because SoloQ struggles hard against them.

wesker being 40 tr is really weird inconsistency. he has no reason to be 40 tr and deathslinger being 32 tr is another weird inconsistency. he doesn't need that either.
Sadako has 24 TR but i think it is because she is like meant to be like myer's-spirit type character where she has inherent stealth advantage. from playing sadako a lot, I feel like sadako should be like 110% m/s character but gain like haste effects in her ghost-form where whenever you become invisible, you gain 15% haste. it would give her the illusion of teleporting ghost killer. She's 4.6 with lower tr because her chase-power is non-existent and it is non-existent because mori-based killer.

We hear you. We've implemented some feedback we hope Pig players will enjoy:
The Pig's crouching speed has been changed to 10s. We hope this will make her look more dramatic as she crouches up and down.
The Pig's ambush charging speed has been increased to 5s. We wanted to make her roar sound intimidating. We also halved the duration of ambush because only a really good player can get value from it.
The Pig now has only one RBT and there are 10 boxes available on the map which are not visible to her. We hope this is more lore accurate to her character.
Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick now only spawns one Scourge Hook.
Also we buffed her least used addon by making it 5% more potent. We hope this provides more options for Pig players.

You know who else is inconsistent with 4.6 m/s = 32m TR? Deathslinger. The only 4.4 with a 32m TR. They didn't need to do him dirty like that.

i think the line is that 4.6 killer have 32 meters TR and 4.4 killer are suppose have 24 meter TR. Amanda is 4.6 killer so her default TR should be 32. the only two outliers in my opinion is deathslinger and wesker.
The other killer that outliers are due to powers. Sadako has 24 tr because of phasing sounds. Myer's has 16 meter because of EV2. Xeno has 32 meter TR but crawler mode reduces it to 24 TR. 4.6 killer with lower TR is power-related.

Trickster is a ranged Killer. 32 meters is fine,especially at 4,6m/s and the extremely OP buffs he's getting.

Best would be "Amandas Letter" basekit. For real, just imagine how she would play if she could aura read on demand, while still having all her restrictions.

That Iri though does completely change her play style, as an iri should... what would you do for her new iri?
That add-on is cool, but I don't think that's what her core design should be personally π€

I actually do think a 4m TR reduction would help Pig immensely. However I also think she needs it.
One of the best ways to make Pig's stealth actually useable is to run Whispers and M&A. So you know 32m out from a gen that there's someone there and 8m wiggle room for your TR to fade before they could hear you.
Being able to do that with only Whispers and freeing up 25% of her perk slots would be pretty amazing.

Don't forget to muffle or nullify the sounds of her ambush too...
If you are decent survivors with excellent hearing and pay close attention to the pig when she starts to crouch from a distance, because of the Terror radius; you can hear the slink sound of her hidden blade being put away; which can be a dead giveaway that she is trying to ambush you from a distance and you can make distance or reach a strong pallet loop to deny her a precious ambush hit.
There is a reason Ambush isn't so significant and why alot of tryhard pigs mains don't necessarily used it; besides just stealth. In fact it is more convenient to crouch, sneak up, and uncrouch from around a corner to get a possible free grab on a unawares survivor on a generator; then to do a pig roar and alert them seconds aways.
I like the idea that Ambush and crouch speed should be silience, faster, and maybe offer the additional benefit to break a pallet instantly or get a instant down when successful hit.
