Rip Springtrap and Slenderman fans
To all those hyped for Indie License.
Though tbh I do hope it is least Art the Clown. Would be neat if his power was just being able to switch from different weapons from his bag.

I really want FNAF but i would be excited for chucky as well. I haven't watched those films but i know he is very popular in horror and i think he could be a very interesting killer.

Also if it is chucky that means fnaf and slenderman would actually fit more.
fnaf has the toy aspect aesthetic
And slenderman animations have potentially always been an obstacle. Pinhead proved a killer can work without touching survivors and chucky would hopefully be another showcase of adapting animations to another unique killer.
Also a lot of people that want fnaf would like a map so at least the potential for a fnaf map and even a survivor is still possible if this chapter is not fnaf

A map for FNAF wouldn't work. Thinking back to other licensed maps the design is already done for the most part. RPD was Basicly a carbon copy of the original game (likely had the original files for the level to tweak) and the other maps like lampkin and badham were very easy to create as they are generic houses. FNAF would ideally be the pizzaria however this map would be far to small for dbd gameplay and the only thing you have to go off is the security footage and the blueprint.
I would never rule out FNAF as being a possibility maybe not for this killer but it would be fairly silly of bhvr to not bring it eventually given there is a big following for that game.

They could easily do a half indoor half outside. Map for the pizzeria, tho the one from 2 would be bigger then the small one from 1. Also got the pizzaplex I suppose

True but makes more sense for a FNAF chapter to have it killer only. I mean from a purely $$$ standpoint it makes a lot of sense. You release Springtrap, majority of the community buys the chapter regardless if they like FNAF or not because they just want to have every chapter then release 4 legendary skins for the different animatronics Chica, Bonnie, Freddy and Foxy.
Not saying its gonna happen but makes a lot more sense as a killer only chapter.
Now you look at Chucky from a money standpoint. You have 1 legendary skin for Tiffany and that's about it however if chucky had the main survivor character from the first film it then opens up more legendary skins for the other main survivor characters of the other 6 films. (assuming there is a different one each films i've never seen the films only going based of google so correct me if im wrong)

It feels like DBD are targetting bigger licenses for bigger returns, which makes good business sense and also is a good way of bringing in/ bringing back players.
However, no doubt smaller horror franchises will enter the world of DBD. Those indie titles you mentioned have good candidates and there are mediums such as Podcasts, anime, books and such which all have great potential. I'd be absolutely thrilled if "The Magnus Archives" ever appeared, although I feel that would benefit the podcast more than DBD (although some of the power ideas could be very unique - including the perfect alternative shape-shifting idea!).
Some will hopefully come in future. There is no shortage of good antagonists out there. Not to mention the amount of unique ideas abound for original content!

Chucky comes with an entire legacy as do many other characters in horror. There are about 10 horror characters that are usually on everyone's list in terms of being iconic. I guarantee you Chucky is on most of them.
Being an Icon just hits differently.

You say this as if the Alien chapter didn't have the majority of it as an outside nondescript alien planet with only a little bit actually inside the iconic Nostromo.
Yeah, a pizzeria from the games would be too small and cramped for a typical DBD map, but there'd be nothing stopping them from having a large amount of the map take place outside in an expansive parking lot.
Think the parking area in the corner of Garden of Joy, but bigger and with the standard procedurally generated tiles littering about.

not gonna lie. already forgot about alien XD

They likely had access to the design documents, but everything needed to be made bespoke considering RE2 remake is made in capcom's proprietary RE engine. I would assume that assets used in that engine would be extremely difficult to downport to UE4 let alone the version that DBD is using.

I never seen the movies but people clearly have an appeal for chucky as character, There is a demand for it.

I think people are buying too much into it being a killer update and instead it will be a reveal for a michael rework THEN a killer reveal along with ptb.

This isn't the last licensed killer the game is getting

Anyone who thinks it's a Michael rework is lost.. Michael's rework is not even remotely close to happening at this time.

Ok yeah I see your point about the toy thing. I always heard issue that Fnaf was for kids since the whole mascot suit gimmick but having Chucky who is just a possessed doll as a killer would make a good counter point.
Also Chucky would be another great sample of introducing Slenderan of the no touch rule since Sadako and Pinhead destroys the issue which was Matthew Cote's main issue of not adding Slenderman because he wanted to respect the source material.
Now I feel lot better that its not them this chapter......and yeah I would like to have a map with it. Fazbear Frights that's burned down with possible jumpscares like Silent hill map or Slenderman's Oakside Park map would be epic.
