When will you compensate us
I would like to know when will you compensate us for the spent money on Stranger Things when you said that those characters and skins we will not be able to get any more?

Don't buy stuff you don't want.
If the only reason you bought Stranger Things stuff is literally because of FOMO and exclusivity status with no other desire to use that content... Well start buying smarter.
If you bought ST and then used it because you liked it, you still got a return from it. (You probably could have sought a refund shortly after purchase if you didn't like it).
If you bought ST to try and flip it because of scarcity and exclusivity prestige and are only now looking to rectify that spent money when it's no longer exclusive, you are the problem and why companies do FOMO in the first place.

Compensate for what? For offering content at a discount?

I don't think BHVR did a FOMO with ST. I'm pretty sure this one was out of their control.

The ST content went on sale, because the ST license was expiring and not getting renewed at that time. There was no guarantee that ST would ever come back, but it wasn't like the devs said that ST could never return.
But also you brought it at a discount, so I'm not sure what the real issue here is.

Everyone needs a hill to die on. Some of us don't have the luxury of picking an interesting hill, we just have to go with whatever is nearby. Your post reeks of hill privilege.

I don't think losing a licensed DLC was something they could do a lot about or had that much control over. They didn't make you buy the DLC, that was very much your own decision.

I hope you are not being serious. If you are being for real with this... Please, read a book on how businesses work in this kind of scenarios.

Unless you were one of those people who bought the DLC from third-party people for $200+, I don't see what the problem is.
Even then, if you did buy one of those from someone else, that wasn't BHVR that you gave your money to, therefore not their responsibility to refund or compensate you.

I knew that someone would write a post like this. My speculation was that it would happen because of cosmetics which were bought.
You seem to "forget" two things:
- If you bought the characters and/or cosmetics shortly before it was removed, you had a big discount.
- If you bought the characters before it was re-introduced today, you had access to characters and cosmetics which other players did not have access to.
That Stranger Things is back is a very, very good thing and probably one of the best things that happened to DBD this year. Saying that you feel that you are at a disadvantage, because you bought the characters before (maybe even on a discount) is just nonsense.

Compensation for what exactly? You paid for the content, you still have the content, the only thing that changed is that now other people can once again do the same. If you got it because you thought it was the last chance to get it, you probably even got it on a discount thanks to the sale leading up to its departure from the store.
If you had no interest in buying it and explicitly got it because it was on the way out, try not to do that. I know that's way easier said than done for many, but while in this case it was a case of the often wacky world of licensed content in media it's an impulse that is absolutely weaponized by actual FOMO-baiting in the modern gaming industry that you want to be resistant to if at all possible. But that wasn't even what this was, BHVR quite simply no longer had the right to sell the content at all.

Even if your argument will be "but I thought this would be exclusive content" this still doesn't work and is stupid. You got to enjoy ST at a pretty big discount with the last sale for 2 years, when nobody new could, unless they paid 7 trillion freddy fazbux to scalpers.

Seriously? I also bought the ST stuff way back when, but how is it a bad thing that others can now get it? We got the stuff at a great discount and we've been able to enjoy what we paid for for a couple years now and, wow, we still can. The terms we agreed to when we bought the game says content etc is subject to change. Well, it changed.

OK, I know I tend to be the guy that calls BS at FOMO... but actually trying to gate content by demanding compensation for something being released again is even worse than complaining about FOMO.
I stand by the same principle, you should be mature enough to make decisions on whether you want to buy something or not, regardless of whether or not it is limited time only.
Similarly you shouldn't be upset if you gave in to FOMO at some point and it turned out not to be 100% exclusive. The point remains the same. You should be responsible enough with your own money to be able to decide whether YOU actually WANT the content or not, regardless of what everyone else is doing.
The fact the whole thing with Stranger Things was beyond BHVRs control in the first place, just makes this whole conversation even more ridiculous.

Someone didn't read the EULA

Opinions are usually not wrong. But yours certainly is.

Dude, the issue is you’re providing NO argument to your thread. You have zero ground to stand on. WHY should you be compensated or reimbursed?? Do you not have the characters you spent money on? What’s the issue?
Oh and also… this is the forums… where us “random nobodys” are free to converse and comment on whatever thread we want. If you don’t want that, then send a message directly to BHVR through a private ticket. Otherwise, get over it. You don’t get to post something like this and not receive community feedback….. on the community forums…. What did you expect?

BHVR marketing at the end of ST license that it will be not obtainable any more
At the time of BHVR saying that, it was true. Netflix is the one who refused to renew the license. Netflix probably gave BHVR every reason to believe Stranger Things would never return to DbD. Also, in no world could BHVR have said, "Hey, Stranger Things might return in the future, you never know." Companies can't do that when a license expires.
According to the Stranger Things writers on Twitter, it's because DbD fans endlessly bothered Netflix about Stranger Things that it's now able to return. So, really, it's Netflix or DbD players who are to blame for the return of the Stranger Things content.
If BHVR hadn't told people Stranger Things was leaving the game, players would have been rightfully pissed about missing out. And as I said, BHVR couldn't make some unfounded claim that Stranger Things might return in the future. There's nothing they could say that would convey the intricacies of licensing agreements without probably getting them in trouble with Netflix. Companies aren't usually allowed to discuss licensing contracts. They said Stranger Things was leaving the store, and it did leave the store for years.

I hope we get skins for the characters for owning the DLC, it was said in november of 21 that it would be the last occasion to purchase ST content.

that was 2 years ago. I really don't think that applies now.

Compensated for what? The blame doesn't fall on BHVR, you bought the cosmetics.

You mean all the stuff you purchased for %50 off?🤨

This is the most depressing thread I've ever read on these forums and I've seen Nurse mains whining how she's nerfed too much and survivors are just OP and bad at the same time.
Jesus christ you people just need to not be miserable and enjoy that more people can play the content you've gotten for half off and enjoyed for 2 years now.
