Ultimate Weapon needs a rework/nerf
Yeah theres no defending this perk, its practically unavoidable without Calm Spirit, and its available constantly, doesnt help that it also applies Blindness to survivors affected.
Even all the other Aura perks cant compete with it, they are more niche, and can even fail to read someone, or only applying to one survivor, UW tops them all by revealing everyone in range, impossible to dodge without a perk, and readily available after every chase.

I mean sure, but then again you only get a bubble up and you might be like 30 m away, so you can just go hide? I don't like the blindness effect though and would not mind it getting removed, but other than that I think that tracking perks need to be somewhat strong, otherwise everyone will just run regression.

Thing is, they kinda overdid it with UW, it should at least have a longer CD or something, cause having this perk on something like Blight or Oni... yeah good luck hiding on time

What do you prefer?
Strong tracking perks that can make slower Killers able to keep finding Survivors and initiating chases without needing to rely on slowdown?
Or
Having every Killer bring 3-4 gen regression perks and winning games through attrition after 35+ minutes because they can't find anyone?

The CD is already effectively 60 seconds. It doesn't need a longer CD. The only thing that should be done if anything needs to be done is to shorten the active duration.

Imo, the active duration needs to be reduced no matter what. Then as far as the cooldown goes, I feel like there's 2 routes they can take, one being to increase the cooldown, or give the perk an additional requirement beyond just opening a locker. Something that makes it not be available as often as it is right now.
I don't mind the Blindness though, I think that component of it is fine.

It seems like before Ultimate Weapon, killers who played DBD in 2016–2022 didn't know how to find survivors.

It has a 30 sec cooldown and floods of rage is far more dangerous and the bubble up... Especially when you are at the edge of the heartbeat and start being carefull with scratchmarks from that point onwards.

I don't think thats necessary since it can only trigger on each survivor once so I don't think that's needed. Like I said I would rather get rid of the status effect.

I would say floods of rage is stronger to be honest, aura reading is just superior to just a bubble up. What this perk basically gives you is a direction to look for survivors at which is quite nice, less wandering around aimlessly.

If you reduce the active duration too much especially on bigger maps then it might be problematic again since you cannot track who you want to chase.

If you ever played against really stealthy survivors you know it is the most annoying thing ever, because you know they are there but you will waste way too much time... Like those bushes on Saloon, or basically everything on toba landing, or indoor maps in general. The average survivor will be found fairly easily, but then again there are some nasty ones... But then again it is only for finding survivors, it doesn't make the chase itself easier, it does not slow down the game... Would you prefer the killer to run more slowdown instead?

Thing is, Ultimate Weapon is not just an info perk but also an anti-info perk. The biggest issue of UW is it absolutely crushes soloQ.
The lingering aura effect kills stealth, which if you have a lack of information from SWF, falling back on stealth is good enough for the most part... Being found so quickly and consistently removes that option and makes soloQ more disorganised and chaotic in general because of terror radius paranoia and the effect of knowing you've been seen... but detection perks are meant to have that effect, and so is not inherently a problem...
What is a problem however is UW creates this disorganisation AND also blinds for a pretty hefty click. SoloQ lives and dies on Auras.
Bond, Empathy, Alert, Kindred, Deja Vu, even things like the gen trap perks showing where your gen is to the team, and the basekit ability to see downed and hooked survivors... all of it gets removed and soloQ players become... Well... Blind.
Its just too much for 1 perk slot. You could nerf 1 part of UW and it'd be fine, but the fact its get everything... long up time, short cooldown, easy activation, versatile detection, anti-info for the opposing team; any 1 part of it taken out and the perk is fine... but as is, it's a SoloQ stomper.
I think what UW needs is to either lose its lingering effect, or lose its blind, cause the power to keep the entire survivor team blind for half the game is way too strong vs. SoloQ.

God how can you be so dense? Who the hell runs only tracking UW? Blight who already needs no slowdonw? No,what every killer does is run UW and 3 slowdowns. What the hell are you talking about

Gonna defend it, its an info perk, blindness does nearly nothing and even then for such a "strong" perk I just don't see it most matches that I play, I think ive seen it used once in the past 20 matches and don't even use it myself even on the killers it would be strongest on because its annoying to use for the short duration of information

With ultimate weapon
what’s the point in bringing other info perks? This is personally what I like about the perk when playing killer
you can bring 3 gen slow down perks and have ultimate weapon giving you info about the survivors whereabouts every 30 seconds just under the conditions of opening a locker

On this Forum "MFT is a frustrating perk because it's very strong with no good counterplay and punishes M1 killers" is an okay opinion to have but "UW is a frustrating perk with no good counterplay and it only overpowers already S-tier killers" will get you crucified and called a bad player.😍

The difference is UW gets completely negated by calm spirit, a perk that can be brought on every character and works all the time. MFT however gives you a bonus that can basically only be ignored by insta down killers/powers/perks, and then leave you injuured with perk value, or you need to have a killer that has an exhaustion addon or one of the very few (good) perks that make the survivor exhausted, and none of those work all the time... So your comparison lacks severely.

There are a ton of anti-exhaustion perks and almost every killer has an anti-exhaustion add-on but nobody cared enough to use them to combat MFT because they prefer stacking gen regression perks instead and demand a MFT nerf which we're getting soon.
Now why would anyone want to bring Calm Spirit, waste a perk slot and be a detriment to their team in case they go against a potential UW Nurse/Blight/Oni? Asking people to use CS in 2023 is crazy.

Yeah but still compare that to a perk like LP or BBQ
lethal works once per trial and its secondary effect requires another aura perk
BBQ requires downing and hooking a survivor in order to work
meanwhile ultimate weapon is available all trial and has a pretty short cooldown
and even if it’s a bubble up you got some decent info on a survivors whereabouts

Its just a bubble coupled with the worse status effect in the game. It announces to the survivor when it procs. It's not hard at all to just move? It's not like it's an Aura.
It being "the best info perk", which is already debatable, doesn't mean its too strong. One perk is gonna be the strongest in every category. Should we also nerf COH again just because it's the best boon?
It's a problem on Nurse and Blight but most info perks are. That's a Nurse and Blight issue not a perk issue.
At the end of the day its just info, and it's not like its old OoO levels where its just perma wall hacks. If UW needs a hard nerf so does WoO.
The most I could say is make it not move with the killer and go on CD instantly.

I've never understood why people say Ultimate Weapon outclasses every other info perk when that's blatantly not true. It's more convenient than most info perks, but that convenience comes at the cost of the info being much worse than what you'd get with other tools.
That being said, I do think one part of UW is indefensible, and that's the Blindness. There's really no justification for that much Blindness being that easily applied, it isn't thematic with the rest of the perk, and to top it all off, it doesn't even directly benefit the killer so much as annoy and inconvenience the survivors. That part should go.
Other than that, I do think they could look at the 30/30 split on the active duration and cooldown, that is pretty strong, but still. It comes at the cost of it just being a scream. You don't need to counter that as survivor, you just... move. Or hide. Or be good in chase. It literally just tells the killer to start looking for you, that's it.

Nowhere to hide as well needs a nerf .Ultimate weapon should have 4 tokens and 90 seconds cooldown.

Most of those perks/addons are rather unreliable though, not up the entire time or not relevant if the person is already injured because of a short duration so you will still get some value out of the perk, which is not the case when the survivors run calm spirit... You have a perk that counters the most important thing about UW at all times, there is no equivalent exhaustion perk or addons that does the same for MFT on killer side...
Also I would bet you that not even... 40% of them have an exhaustion addons, so much for almost every one of them...

Fair but then again BBQ is one of the weakest aura reading perks in the game, I still run it on some killers, but the information is just so far away and with more an more people running distortion it just does not feel worth it. Lethal is great in combination with other perks especially but yeah only really worth it if you can get there in time..

Nobody would run it with that conditions... Also how do you regain tokens? I mean distortion gains them back as well so why not this?

How is it better than any other information perk?
I think blidness is overkill, that perk simply doesn't need it, but it's not that broken otherwise.
It makes it easy to find some survivor, so great between chases, but it won't really help you on longer distance (they can easily move / hide), also won't help you in chase.
Fact that survivor knows about it makes it you will never get fast down from that information unlike Nurse's calling, or Nowhere to hide.
Aura reading is simply better than scream.
Only killer where it gets problematic is Oni, but it's not impossible to win against. Chase is still same.

UW is strong, but calm spirit is a hard counter. Stop whining when there is counterplay available and its super easy to use.

Absolutely not. BBQ is still one of the best perks in the game, which is why it's still top 10 most picked perks. Lethal gives you a LOT more than just aura reading: it basically tells you which gens are being worked on as soon as the trial starts and you can plan what you can do from there. Not to mention it completely removes the hide and seek part of the game and gives you free info.
