Prestige 100 is a massive turn away for me

I know people will say well your prestige level doesn't matter. To me if I see that 100 marker I'll leave the lobby because it intimates me to reach that level means a lot of matches I get that "well there's bloodrush, challenges and rank reset." No matter what I don't care it will always intimated me until I have a character at that level.

Yet no one does. I won't lie the new prestige level thing wasn't a full on good idea. Players get intimated by those big numbers I get it was a way of having players spend BP for a reason but I mean 100 tiers? Really? You only get rewards up until tier 9 so the last 91 levels aren't worth it other then saying look my emblem changed by a small amount.

I really don't get why people get so nervous around P100s. It doesn't necessarily mean they're the gods of DBD. True, chances are they are more likely to be good rather than bad, but still, I've faced P100s which I've downed easily while having a P1 looping me for the whole match.

I'd be more scared about a suspiciously SWF-looking lobby.

I don't know why they're refusing to hide prestige levels from the lobby

Well remember a lot of people get that nervous feeling in games with rank matches seeing a Dimond Platinum mega champion rank can still be a little off putting even if the person is terrible at the game. Then again this is coming from someone who doesn't play rank matches because people get way WAY to competitive.

This is why we need to get rid of visible prestige in the lobby. Those of us who frequently play with P100s know most are pretty average. You get that cracked one every now and then but most are not difficult to go against.

I fully changed platforms at the start of the year and had been distributing my bloodpoints pretty evenly among my survivors and killers to unlock perks, and the other day I added up that if I put all my bloodpoints to date into my main, Zarina, she would be at P100. And that's after playing on this platform for less than a year. 3 years total playing this game, but less than a year to hit P100. And I don't play anywhere near as much as most people do.

ngl it has been so long since the prestige update so p100ing doesn't mean a person is a giga-gamer or anything but seeing a lobby of 3 or 4 p100s still intimidates me, versed a p400 swf recently and got crushed too. i wish pre-game lobbies were gone as a whole so stuff like this never happens, so does lobby dodging.

There really is no reason to dodge the lobby because of prestige. The more you play against these people, the less intimidating they become. If they really were insanely good, then it would be more effective for them to hide behind a low prestige character.

But I don't see the need to let people see prestige before the game either. It has no positive effect whatsoever.

Getting rid of the lobbies altogether also gets rid of that last second swapping bs survs can do too.

I kinda feel the same way, I see 3x level 100 prestige survivors with flashlights in my lobby and I dodge, Having only somewhere 100 to 150 hours playing as a killer and seeing big numbers on the screen often scares me, I'm a casual player and the highest prestige I have is like 7... seeing a prestige 100 just makes me think how many hours of experience they are gonna have and I just dodge sometimes.

Ranks were hidden for this exact reason, then they came out with prestige and like… didn’t hide it, or even provide an option to hide it. I dunno what BHVR was thinking. They literally made the same mistake and are looking into correcting it the same way.

Whenever I SWF - usually once a week - I do it with 3 friends who are also P100. In a normal 5-6 hours of game play we see maybe 2-3 killers dodge total. This is on par with what I see when I solo as a P100. As a killer I could care less if someone is a P100 - I neither see it as a challenge or any type of intimidation. The only time I dodge as killer is when it is either someone I know (like a friend) or when it is someone I remember being extra stupid in end game chat or have come into my stream and been an idiot. Dodging due to Prestige level is not as rampant as some people make it out to be - I think more people are just dodging the person for whatever reason...rather than the prestige level.

This is exactly my experience as well. P400 squad, hardly any dodges.

It's probably tied to MMR in some capacity tbh, killers in high MMR see P100 much more often than newbies so they're less likely to dodge I think.

Also, more and more people have high prestige so it's not as scary anymore. I used to get dodged if someone had P20+ but now there's hardly any dodging unless there's people with P80+ in the lobby.

I would have said it's not that bad but the absolute lack of dodging when prestige was hidden made it more obvious now.

I wish I have any survivors with P100, because if someone dodge, seeing P100 marker, then:

    • that player is insecure (in video game!!!)
    • that player afraid of challenge or losing (which is even more red flag)
    • this player obvously is sweaty, looking for easy matches and/or to prey on Solos, with high probability will camp or tunnel.

    So, good riddance.

Besides that, I stomped huge amount of P100 with zero problem, and was steamrolled by a lot of P0 - P3 (because anyone could switch to another not prestige survivor because of daily or just for fun, not a rocket science)

That’s my guess too, is that MMR is the main variable.

What point is reaching P100 if you can't show it? Im only fine with hiding it if we get legacy skins for P100 rewards. Now the reward is just showing it.

If they hide prestiges then there is literally no point to prestige. With the new profile changes they are doing what is next? Start hiding profile customizations because someone might have gotten one from being really good in chase? So we start hiding those too?

Beyond prestige 9 you as a player get nothing. So what is the point in earning prestige 100 if you can't show it off.

I know there is no real basis for it but seeing a p100 in a team with 1-10 makes me think swf smurf. Plus we have new players continually confuse prestige for rank.

I think the MMR, time of day/weekend, and region all play a part.

Be very interested to see the results of their recent tests.

I agree. I was one of the people that got prestige hidden and I I thought I liked it at first but then I realized fast that I really like seeing the amount of time(not skill) people put into their characters. Which I mean I never dodge lobbies anyway so it didn't really effect me at all. I like going against the sweats and swf it's presents a real challenge, most have some form of coordination unlike solo q woes.

I still don't see the point in grinding to p100. If you happen to get there because you're using your favorite character, that's super duper terrific for all involved. It should be hidden because saying you play 8 hours per day isn't a flex to begin with.

Of course! Her kill count is off the charts!

So I have one p100 and it took about a year to get it I strictly played that killer aside from dailys, that was just playing causally. I've ran into some people here that have p100 in under 2 months. Point I think most people aren't playing 8 hours a day they're just playing when they can, it is in fact a huge deal for them to show off their p100 character. I mean just the sheer amount of time in the blood web alone is a feat on its own.

I have played plenty of games vs P100 survivors I will go into the game and think they're new based on how poorly they're playing only to find they're P100 and had P2's play better. It really doesn't mean anything except for that you really like that character. DBD seems to be a mental game more than anything, the smallest things will upset/scare people
