Please get rid of the cheaters
There's too many. First game of the evening, populated by cheaters. A quarter of the games any given evening, at least one cheater. I'm sick of it. It's burning me out faster than anything else in the game.

If there was an "easy" way the devs would 100% do it. Cheat developers have gotten really good at there craft.
I know that it doesn't really provide any comfort, but with BHVR I think the devs are pretty good, and are actively working on better anti cheat.

If you're talking about the killers that spin fast as ######### and kill everyone within 5 seconds, those are bots, not actual people.
3 -
I disagree that the BHVR devs are working on anticheat at all. They made a separate queue for Fog Whisperers so they get cheater-free games, but it's normal players who pay the price now and are stuck with a problem BHVR would rather ignore than spend time and money on fixing. It's becoming increasingly apparent to me that BHVR flat-out does not care.

Having just finished a game against a survivor running faster than my 4.4ms Spirit, yeah, this is getting ridiculous. It's alarmingly frequent at this point. And perks like MFT+Hope just muddy the waters. You can't have haste perks and then also horrendous anti cheat.

Update the user agreement to mention any sort of file manipulation as so much as a perk icon change, mod, etc. to result in a ban along with losing all of your progress. After that you'll need to provide a legitimate phone number that also has to be certified. As lame as it is, it would protect legitimate play across the board. As well as allowing these devs to finally balance the game, to see what characters, perks, etc. are actually problems within dbd.

No. Using a legit phone number to play should never happen. Games are not that important. My son tried to switch consoles for overwatch and because he had the same number was unable too. Support closed his ticket without any help. His only option would've been changing his number and there is no way anyone should have to do that for a video game especially when that number is tied to 2fa from banking to pretty much everything these days.
Phone number requirement for gaming should never become a practice.

The best practice for dealing with cheaters tends to be silently patch the vulnerabilities and then ban wave so cheaters and cheat devs have a hard time figuring out what got them caught.
I get facing cheaters suck, but it's always going to be a reoccurring problem.

I seen like 3 or less cheaters in the last year, since the massive server validation they did, sucks for you that you see many but they are far less common than before.

Last few days for me have been subtle speed hacks. Full health survivors in lunge range magically going faster to escape every hit. And on top of it, got one player waiting at windows and could fast vault without sprint.

It sure seems like the cheating problem is getting worse. I've had a lot of matches recently where scratch marks randomly disappear even without the survivor running scratch mark-associated perks, subtle speed hacking, survivors teleporting halfway across the map after I hit them.

I guess they found another vulnerability recently and there are really a lot of cheaters. When playing on the Asia server, I always have to make sure that there are no anonymous players in the lobby for every game and that I can look at the player profiles to see if they have any ban history before I feel comfortable playing a match. Even then, a match can still be blindsided by Epic players who are unable to check their profiles.

I think it sounds like a good idea. Sounds like you don’t want phone numbers used because of the inconvenience it caused your son. I’d rather people be slightly inconvenienced if it got rid of cheaters ruining games constantly.
you say “games are not that important” but clearly they’re important enough to you that you don’t want anything that could cause the slightest inconvenience to your gaming experience.

Go look up how it worked out for overwatch 2 then get back to me. It only worked for people with plans and that meant a lot of people can't play the game at all because they dont have a plan.
it is a massive inconvenience especially when we're talking about a casual game.

Yes, it should absolutely, if you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about. Especially in a live service game, how many players have had their identities leaked to the cheaters that hack the servers? I would rather have the phone number given out for my security then have a hacker obtain my IP address thank you very much.

Glad to see the teleport hack is still alive and well in games. Literally had a Xeno using Instant Transmission like it was a ######### Z-Fighter.

Once again, first match of the night, another cheater going 110 without injury/gens done. Actions speak louder than words, and BHVR's silence is ######### deafening.

I have a friend who has been a "computer security specialist" for decades now. She's what the industry calls a white hat, so I asked her. Took her less than 5 min to learn everything she needed to know to hack this game, and would be the same for pretty much any other. Stopping cheaters is just impossible, just as stopping pirates is. I remember years ago the manager at GameStop told me that this game, forget which one, was going to feature a foolproof way to stop piracy, something about each disc having a code embedded that specifically required the CD-ROM to read. So it was literally unhackable. I told him it would be hacked in a day or two. I was wrong. It was hacked in five minutes. All you had to do was take a black laundry marker around the edge of the disc, when it couldn't' find the code it glitched out. Absolutely and hilarious, but that goes to show, the hackers WILL find a way, no matter how foolproof you think your game is.
As for their silence, my white hat friend would tell you that they cannot be transparent as we would like them to be, as anything they say to us, the hackers hear. They can't give them a heads up!

No. People who can't afford plans and have to use prepaid phones get locked out and are unable to play games simply because they can't afford a plan. Just like in overwatch 2.

Then you choose to not see them because cheating has become consistent over time.
Those of you that try to pretend its a non issue are either cheating or trolling

or I am simply truly lucky and don't see any??
