Survivors are still gen-tapping regressing gens mid-chase
The killer either foregos the regression, or they spend a lot of time* kicking the gen while the survivor gets away.
Either make gen-kicking mid-chase instant for the killer, or make the gen-kick penalty stronger.
(* A lot of time, relative to the instant-speed at which survivors can stop the regression.)

We don't need to buff gen kick again, it's just fine atm.
22 -
Amm... Don't kick the gen then?
14 -
As annoying as it is and much as I don't like it either I always thought it should be fine to have survivors sit on the gen for at least 1 seconds or even just .5 to get the gen to stop regressing at least so that can't just tap it during chase.
19 -
This is why I don’t kick gens. :)
Don’t kick gens —> don’t have to worry about this.
2 -
Make your choice. Either way, the gen tap doesn't add progress and, if a Survivor repeatedly gen taps, the Killer regression kick will knock it down far quicker than Survivors could hope to bring it back up.
It's a judgement call. You can't have both.

Run Dragon's Grip...
Also no, Im not joking, DBD's design philosophy is focused around using perks to counter playstyles you dont like, might as well do what you can.
3 -
The simplest solution would be to force a skillcheck the moment you interact with a regressing gen similar to overcharge, but instead of a "difficult" its just a normal skillcheck.
Its ridiculous for a killer to need to put 2 seconds into a kick to start regression, just for that regression to be stopped with a 0.1s m1 tap mid chase.
14 -
I think it would be better to make it so unless the survivor has repaired the gen for at least 1.5 seconds to 2 seconds the gen won't stop regressing.
6 -
No it's not killer wastes 3 seconds to regress a gen and survivors tap it in less than a second to stop the regression.
8 -
How about you don't drop the pallet then?
6 -
Then they can nerf gen tapping. Gen kicking does not need another buff. It's fine atm.

You're watching too much LilithOmen my guy.

Who is lilly boman?

This is why I never saw cob and oc as an issue. They could be countered in an instant, and oc was only actually beneficial to the killer if it regressed for at least 14 seconds since it starts with a regression penalty that's worse than standard regression.
The problem was some killers (SM) could keep people off gens too easily. That was a situation where those killers needed a change, not the perks.

I cant believe this damn survivor tapping my gens! Is this post for real?
6 -
The problem is Dragon's Grip is garbage. Its cooldown is way too long...
5 -
Are we seriously back to complaining about gen tapping? The answer is no.
1 -
Gen tapping can be really annoying on killers with no range power, I always felt like it's too fast and there is nothing you can do about it as a melee killer. I hope some day devs will change gens to require 2 sec to stop regressing, same as killer.
currently it's unfair since there are already 4 survivors and one killer has to spend twenty times longer to accomplish the same thing.
the only thing that makes it okay rn is Jolt, so you don't need to go back and waste like 15 seconds
5 -
2.5% losing progression doesnt change Gen tapping problem. Bring it back to 0% and add 2sec startup animation so survivors have to sit 2sec to stop the regression.
Or the Devs want survivors/killers to make strategy decision, risking to tap as survivors, and either taking advantage of it/or losing distance as killers.

Didn't even get to kick a gen during eruption meta because I've been kick free for nearly 2 years now.

This is definitely a bit of a pet peeve of mine (though I do it all the time in my Survivor games too).
I think the same way. Would make it a bit of a risk to tap the gen at least. Maybe even introduce a fun bit of extra tension to the game play.
1 -
That really is a non-issue.
If you know a survivor will attempt that you can use it to your advantage; at this point you know where they'll try to go. At best it's a free hit, at worst they don't get to tap the gen.
If a survivor has so much distance that you can't do that the surv loses distance - that's still a win for you as far as the chase is concerned. Especially because it makes the surv reaching the next tile without getting hit more difficult. - The gen stops regressing but the gen can't be progressed either, that's neutral.
2 -
Well kicking gen has an instant regressed amount (i don't remember how much) so it's not like how it used to be where you would kick and the gen would start regressing and a survivor could just instantly tap it and basically no regression has happened. So its up to you to decide if you wanna regress the gen, or stay on that survivors heels, which I think is fine now.
If you really have an issue with it/face that often, there is a perk that once you kick a gen the next survivor to repair it within however long will become exposed (i forget the perk name).

The filthy blight mains again....
Grrrrrrrr

There is nothing more fun or chad than a basekit blight.

You shouldn't really be kicking gens unless you have a gen kicking perk anyway and if you had a gen kicking perk you wouldn't be worried too much about them tapping it.
2 -
Hex: Ruin is gonna be meta.

Why can't the opposite be true?
"Just don't tap the gen while being chased then?"
That crap needs to be punished harder.
7 -
Don't down survivors —> don't have to worry about flashlights, bodyblocks, hook sabotage, or boil over.

Dragon's Grip
Fearmonger
Ruin
Pop Goes The Weasel
Overcharge
2 -
As long as there is a regression-meta, this should never change as it has too much of an impact on gameplay.
1 -
Or how about the SURVIVOR wastes perk slots?
Make gens take 1.5 to 2 seconds to stop the regression. Then add a survivor perk that lets them gen tap like they can currently.
5 -
it gives me back my nwth. but they can actually change it to like having to do a gen for 2 seconds in order to stop it regressing if survivor is in a chase.
0 -
Nah, thats silly. You have perks for a reason. Pop is a waste? Can't take this too seriously.
2 -
Nah
3 -
It's obvious by now that the devs cater survivors. It's always going to be survivor sided they have to keep the majority happy.
3 -
Don’t have to kick gens if you slug and tunnel everybody at 5 gens…. ;)
Finally…. You’re starting to see logic.

That gets me thinking.....
Your not ABUSING the iri tag, are you? You high mmr - monster?!?
0 -
No.
A curving Hillbilly WITHOUT ENGRAVINGS!
1 -
It would only be fair that killers had a basekit "mini-overcharge" where a skillcheck must be succeded to stop regression. (with no regression penalty if failed).
Survivors also got basekit BT and anti-face camp
5 -
I love the iri tag so much I threw an alch ring on it. ;D

Some good suggestions on here

We should introduce a new, never-before-seen mechanic, where whenever a killer kicks a gen, the gen loses the equivalent of, IDK, 10 seconds of regular regression time. That way, if a survivor taps the gen, you can get more value out of re-kicking it than you would if they'd never tapped the gen to begin with.
BHVR, please add this new feature to DBD!

Spicy.

You can't slug if you don't down.
0 -
Of all the things to complain about this is up there as the most petty.
2 -
Don’t have to deal with survivors if you don’t load in.
0 -
Engravings or none, billy is always chad. A basekit blight with only bbq is almost as chad though (;
0 -
So a Trapper with padded jaws is not?
I don't feel like blight is that much of a chad killer, because they have such a strong base power.
The true chads deal with what little they have because they can. Because they want to.
0 -
Its a power that takes skill to win with even if it is strong.
A trapper with padded jaws is just insane, not chad. I dont know why anyone would do that to themselves.
