I'm studying my survivor games to see how my matches go |day 2|
before the mmr update i use to go on very long loss streaks and idk if its bc im bad or if mmr was just really odd.
so im writing down how all my matches go and my wins losses and more, im trying to see if theres a pattern and just thought you guys would be intrested. (im also doing it to make DbD more intresting)
ill be writing down wins, losses, how i escape, how many gens are left when i die/escape, how many chases i get in and map, i will also be updating it daily

i do apologize for the layout being a bit bad and potentially hard to understand. any questions just lmk

I track mine as well though have been slack over the past few weeks. With the MMR changes confirmed (even though I doubt I'm high enough to be impacted) I'll start tracking again too. Curious to see if much has changed. I need to recalculate my results but last time i did my overall escape rate since the start of the year was around 27%. My lowest week was 10%.

Thats really interesting tbh. Mmr is a weird thing. Like I'm a killer main who is not at all good at survivor and before the mmr stuff I'd be going against killers who knew how to do some really complex stuff that even I'd struggle with as killer and i couldn't do any counterplay. But now with the mmr update thing (idk what to call it) i feel like I'm being matched with killers who are just as good as i am. So i am interested to see if that's just me or not

My solo queue escape rate was near 40% before the MMR changes. That was with 4k hours and relatively sweaty builds. I played normally and didn't make any special effort to play for the hatch. I will keep track and see if this improves with the MMR changes. The games definitely feel closer so hopefully this translates into more wins. Before the change I was getting matched with P100 nurses and other killers who were way above the collective skill level of my teammates. I played against at least eight different P100 Oni mains that I can remember in the last 3 months. I don't feel like that has happened as much since the change.

I'm tracking it too, but one thing that is very noticeable with the change is I've not had a single trial since the MMR change where a fellow survivor killed themselves on the hook, which is quite the refreshing change! Trials seem similar otherwise to how they were before from the Survivor side. The Killer trials have become a bit hatder though, in terms of gens being doing a bit quicker. I'm still randomizing all builds, but there has been a spike in difficulty as Killer and a more reliable team synergy as Survivor.

I don't have hard numbers, but overall it feels better in solo queue. Never going to be perfect. It still expands matchmaking into "7-10 minute pre-determined cutscene" territory when queues go beyond a minute or so. I'd personally like the teammate max range to tighten up by 50-100 MMR points, because the matches become pointless when the skill gap between teammates is too wide. The killer is just going to find the weakest player and exploit that mismatch. BUT, those games are happening less, which is good. This is a definite improvement. I don't feel like I'm lighting 2 hours on fire when I play solo queue.

Killer or survivor?
Because looks like MMR is giving better teammates to solo survivors which is good. Like i don't have to worry about teammates who never touches to gens or can't take chases longer than 10 seconds.

I went through my results and got an updated solo survivor escape rate of 35%. Which kind of surprised me tbh. Maths isn't my strong point so had my hubby go over it 🤣 he got 35% too. That doesn't include hatch escape (since that doesn't count as an escape for the game) and I didn't count games where the killer let me leave through the exit gates either. I'll see if that changes much over the next few months.

personally i count hatch escapes as a proper escape, i dont count it as a survivor win just a personal win, without including hatches i have a 50% win rate id say

i mean thats to be expected tbf, better survivers means harder killer matches, for me they havent been that much harder i just have to change my build from full aura huntress to half slowdown half aura huntress, its not too bad tho.
and i definitely see what you mean with the survivors not giving up, it seems like survivors have gotten a morale boost or something as alot of the ones ive ecountered seem to actually wanna play the game, even against nurses and blights and tombstone myers'.

Now this makes sense because my survivor games are feeling better since i am getting better teammates. Which means no more easy solo-q matches for killers.
Maybe that's the reason.

i definetely think that is the reason. im a killer main and ik damn well solo-q teams are usually an easy stomp as theres no coordintion and always very obvioius weak links. but now that mmr was changed earlier yesterday before i started to study my survivor games i felt that teams played better, i thought it was just more swfs on that day than i heard about the mmr change and i realized that solo-q players are just better and more closley skilled now, theres no clear easy weak link, then that brought me to study my survivor games

Sadly, I'm still getting the high MMR monsters and my SoloQ teammates are even worse than usual.
Gotta love getting bled out by a P100 Blight without anyone ever getting hooked.

one thing i noticed is im alot better at looping and surviving until late game. before mmr changed id always die at around 4-5 gens, and while this still happens sometimes it doesnt happen as often, on match 7 against legion i looped them for 4 gens and then they got me and my teammates let me die on hook

One extremely annoying thing I've noticed about solo queue matchmaking: it still feels like my win rate is being manipulated a bit since the soft cap change. 5 consecutive escapes seems to be the cutoff. This has been fairly consistent over the last week. I'll have 5-ish consecutive games where my teammates are around my skill level, we get 3 or 4 out of the gates, and the killer has a hard time. Nurse, Blight, you name it. We 4 outed a P98 Blight today in solo queue. After the 5th game, I get placed in the same hopeless lobbies I'd get placed in before the soft cap changes. It has been consistent and uncanny. ~5 escapes in a row followed by a hopeless lobby. It puts me in those lobbies until I lose a couple. I need to stress, this is eerily consistent over the last week. 5 escapes in a row seems to be the "soft cap" for escapes in a row in solo queue unless you start running Sole Survivor+Wake Up.

isnt that just yk, your mmr changing? like it gonna go up if u win 5 in a row then youll be put w some god teir killers then once u lose those ur mmr would go down putting u back in those easy lobbies where u escape every game, no?
idk if i misunderstood what ur saying or whatever but like i hope i understood it correctly

That's not quite what seems to be happening. For around 5 games, I'll have teammates near my experience level (~4500 hours). Even if I can't check their hours, there are lots of P100s. The killers are sweaty but we can manage. After winning too many in a row, it puts me in lobbies with relatively inexperienced teammates. I check the hours and see as low as 300 hours in those games, P0 or P1s. The killers aren't very good, but the teammates really struggle and there's nothing I can really do. I lose a couple and then it puts me back with players near my skill level. Rinse repeat.
It doesn't seem like an MMR bracket thing. It wouldn't make sense that players with thousands of hours and solid game sense are hard stuck in an MMR bracket below players with a fraction of their experience level. Even if it were MMR-related, my win rate is still over 70% in the last week. I'd have climbed by now. It feels more like win rate manipulation on some level.

Maybe there's some overflow bug in the MMR rating and once players reach the maximum they just end up being at the bottom, rinse and repeat 😂

Thanks a lot for this! There was another forum member doing the same but as a Myers killer. We need more of such threads!
Quick question: What MMR update are you referring to and when did it occur?
0 -
These statistics are slightly misleading, its important to also note if the *team won*.
For example, i can have a 100% deathrate , yet the rest of my SWF always escapes , by game design 2 to 3 people are supposed to die per trial, and all this really tells us is if you lucked out on being the one that didn't get sacrificed.

Well... we do need more of these threads
But why stop tracking when you die?
I know that people want to look at individuals but I also think that they should do a team rating
What if your individual play lead to 2-3 Survivors escaping... I just spitballing here so you can ignore me
1 -
yes i fully agree with you. im currently redoing it and starting from scratch and gonna include the team stuff aswwell
0 -
yes i do agree as i said in another comment i posted a few minutes ago i plan on doing a version 2 of this once the rank reset happens on the 13th of december, i cant really restart noe since im now silver 2, and i think rank might have a small place in matchmaking or atleast id assume it does, and i stopped tracking when i died because i play solo-q i saw it more as an individual stats instead of team stats but then halfway through day 2 of doing it i noticed even when i usually die it helps the other 3 or 2 get out so i realized that its more of a team thing instead of a solo thing. so when it becomes december 13th im gonna redo it. should only take a week or two.

Alright... can't wait
