What will the FOV slider do and will it take away the ability to 360 around killers?
I would like to learn to 360, but I don‘t understand when/how to do it and with the FOV slider I think it will take away that ability if it gives you a brighter sight. Then it wouldn’t be worth learning it if that gets changed.

The whole aspect that spinning in circles somehow makes them miss you was always silly. Seriously try that in a fight.

It‘s maybe silly, but part of the game. When Pc players do that I only hate it, because it‘s far harder to hit them as console players.

Which is precisely why it should go. PC players have far too many advantages against consoles.

It will not be completely gone but it will be harder. Then again, what killers do you actually succeed with a 360 against? Mostly inecperienced killers, who already struggle. And they will not suddenly get much better in playing around these. The FOV slider does not change the killer's weapon hitbox after all.
Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "brighter sight". The game doesn't become less dark because of it.

Honestly since the animations have been reworked it's difficult to get a 360 if the killer isn't inexperienced or messing up anyway (which is why it's a last resort thing), but I've gotten 3 of them against Chucky yesterday so I don't think the FoV slider will change much tbh.

I don‘t know if you know what I mean when you have words in other languages, that sound the same and mean the same in your language, but in an other language they mean something completely different or you wouldn’t say it like that.
Al lot of pc players 360 me, because they move so weird. Sometimes I also 360 someone, but I rarely try, because I‘m afraid of getting hit.
I mean that you have bigger view, like with shadow born.

PC killers also have a lot advantages when we compare them with console killers. PC will always have advantages until they add support M&K for console players too.

360ing will still only work against bad killers. Just like right now.

Note that hitting the m1 or estimating correct lunge distance feels considerably different on Chucky than on any other killer due to the perspective. Don't be surprised when you see whiffing Good Guys.

Absolutely ! It's obvious the killer I 360ed was still adjusting to the pov, and in general 360s only work out if the killer is already struggling or panicking, it's not like its a reliable "strategy" so it possibly being nerfed by the FOV slider isn't a problem tbh.

Ahh ok. I did not mean to shame you, it's just an example of language barrier.
I assume you place on console then. I have little experience playing with a controller, so I am not sure, if playing with Shadowborn is going to help in that case. The best 360s I've seen so far started out as a FOV tech, which is a lot harder when the killer has shadowborn. The question here is, can you hit the spinning target? If you can, then the FOV slider might help you, if not, then the FOV slider will not help either.

Yes I‘m playing on ps5. Shadowborn helps me a lot with high mobility killers, without it I loose track where people are, while running with blight for example. After people doing 360s too many times, I concentrate on hitting them and it‘s not that big of a problem just annoying (especially PC). I think the slider will help, but I‘m worried that another aspect of the game is lost like, hook grapps, camping etc.
I think perks should handle problems like camping and tunneling. So AFC I think should be Status effect for many perks, like for example the one from rebeca: reassurance and others

So they nerfed everything about survivors and it's time to nerf the movement of survivors too? 360 is always a thing, what do guys wants us to do, just stand still and give a free hit?

It was part of the game...accidentally. Let's not act like the devs invented the 360 tech because they didn't. It was something that fans came up with after simply playing the game, and just like Blight's hug tech BS, I think it needs to go. New people have enough trouble playing Killer. We never needed something as silly as the 360 tech to make the game more enjoyable. Completely destroys the immersion as Killer. That's for sure.
Someone getting closer to you makes them harder to hit? Never made sense. The new FOV slider will get rid of that for most people. Glad it'll be gone.

It’s just something you have to learn, it‘s not heavy just annoying. And if they remove that the game loses another aspect, which made it more lively.
Making it more difficult so would be fine, but getting rid of it isn‘t a good thing.

I beg to differ. No other game has the stupid FOV DBD has for it's Killer players. It should've never been in is the problem. Sorry you like it, but I'm willing to bet that the majority won't miss it.

You'll probably still be able to 360 bad killers, calm down. The movement isn't getting nerfed, they're literally just adding an FOV slider - a thing that's pretty damn common in first person games.

The forced short M1 attack bug, that can steal hits from the killer, would still be in the game. So 360s could still help trigger that.
Everyone should be aware that 360s actually help trigger a bug that can literally steal hits from the killer. And most players aren’t even aware this bug is in the game.

Isn‘t that the lunge only stops an attack if you stop holding the attack button

Wrong.
When a killer tries to lunge, the game checks if the killer is "too close" to a survivor. And if the game decides the killer is too close, it FORBIDS the killer from lunging, and FORCES them to do a short M1 attack instead. The problem is the game will then make a 2nd check, to see if the attack hits.... and if the killer is too far away to hit, specifically because the game forbid the killer from lunging, then the game has stolen a hit from the killer.
The game shouldn't make 2 separate checks to see if a hit connects. It also shouldn't forbid a killer from lunging, unless it has already validated the hit, and guaranteed the hit will happen.

An FOV slider increases your field of view, AKA how much you can see from any point. The Killer having a higher FOV does not make it impossible to 360. It might make it slightly easier to keep track of a Survivor, but the main reason why it works and allows you to dodge hits is because they aren't reacting fast enough when you change directions. Having a higher FOV won't change that.
For reference, Shadowborn increases your FOV, but it doesn't make it impossible to get spun.

I know you weren't asking me, but as a former console player, it's definitely the disparity between keyboard and controller. At least in my experience, the game is way easier to play on keyboard and mouse. A joystick just doesn't have the same accuracy that a mouse does.
It's not super noticable on non-ranged killers, but I find it far easier to actually look around with a mouse.

It's also the FPS.
It is FAR easier to react with 60, much less 120, frames than with 30 or less.

Also very true. I don't know if it's better on PS5/Series X, since I only played on PS4, but the performance on the PS4 was pretty terrible.

I think the fov-slider might kill the last bit of stealth survivors have left in the game. Not that there is much left since ulitmate weapon anyway.
Well, i liked the game (as a hide and seek), but if it doesnt work out, i am ready to move on. We will see if survivors that dont just want to chase have anything left.

That is true for killers (1st person)
In comp, the majority agrees that playing survivor on controler is significantly better then M&K. Many top 1v1 players switched to Controler.

Good then we make sure we get rid of hug techs (which are also bugs and are not intended) on blight wesker and chucky so they get nerfed to the ground also.....L take this game needs to be fun it needs to keep fun aspects of the game. Just because some people are sweat lords who want this game to be boring dosent mean it needs to be for the other 98% of the community.

This is true. I play almost exclusively on PS5, but when I do play on PC, I used M&K for killer, but still a controller for survivor. The two roles demand different things mechanically, and controller just works better for surv, imo.
Console killers do play a a distinct disadvantage though. And even when using controller, you have more optimization options on PC.

The words "Hug Tech" do not fit in Chucky's case. He doesn't need to press himself into an object ("hug" it) and it's not a bug / unintended consequense of the coding. He simply doesn't have an attack hitbox before the actual attack starts, which makes it impossible for him to bump into any objects, so it's not a "tech" either.

Well you can hug tech with him the exact same way you can with blight though sooooooo.... yea it is. The devs have clearly stated its a bug.

I know that it's a bug / unintended mechanic on Blight but I'm not aware of them saying anything like that about Chucky. He literally works exactly as he is supposed to (apart from some unrelated visual bugs). They didn't program him to bump into things while running and as a result he doesn't. Not sure how that would be a bug.

Not how what works the hug tech? im not talking about his 180 flicks or his scamper im talking about his legit hug techs the same that wesker and blight use. Also the 180 cant be done on controller so pretty unbalanced.
