Why people upset about the new dlc bundles?
If you look at instagram all the comments underneath the post everyone is upset that the dlcs will he bundled up together but did... nobody open the game?
It says starting January 8th all characters in the store (that are in the said bundles) will be half off... that's an amazing deal if you ask me

Because it's bad for old players.
Like why you are forcing to buy 4 chapters when you only want one of them? I am glad prices reduced for new players but they are removing option once again for old players.

The more important part is that their prices in cells+shards are being slashed, which makes them much more accessible to new players just playing the game normally.

Because if DBD players have the opportunity to complain about something they will?

How is it bad for old players? If you want the DLC you can buy them with cells. 500 cells is cheaper than the DLC is right now so it works out cheaper for old players too.
Plus old players probably have a stack of shards and you can get 2 for the price of 1 now.
I don't see how this is bad for anyone.

People said same thing for Nic Cage and Alien chapters too: Hey if you don't wanna buy bundle, just buy in the game store.
But question is that: What if i don't wanna use in game store? Buying chapter from platform is giving you option for family share. And i love to have them on my Steam library. And removing single chapters and forcing people to buy packs is just bad decision.
If you disagree, that's fine. But this does not make this change good for me. Thankfully i am already have all chapters.

I can understand it being an issue for family sharing but since you already own all the chapters as well, I don't see how this is a bad change for you either. Future chapters won't be apart of a bundle and they probably won't be for a few years. So for most veteran players this won't make any difference or will be beneficial for them. And those who don't have the DLCs yet can still buy them until January and get them for family sharing if they need it. For most people this will be better so I think in the long run I think this is a good change.
Also I agree that the Nic Cage and Alien thing was a terrible change and no one should be defending that. Especially Alien since buying them both with cells cost more than other DLCs cost. Thankfully they aren't doing that anymore.

Steam removed family sharing for DLC ages ago so this isn't a problem regardless
3 -
Wrong.
If both accounts have the game, dlcs won't be shared. But you can share game + dlcs with account if they don't have the game.
2 -
Oh...oh well you're not even supposed to be doing that in the first place so I don't think BHVR will care too much
2 -
Exactly
It's literally a way better deal
Especially for me who was just about to buy Kate Denson but now I can get her half off and someone else half off or (depending on how much it costs) I can get the whole bundle with all those characters for cheaper too

It's replacing the money bundles for buying characters, specifically with Original Chapters.
If you want to obtain them for cheap, you can still use Iridescent Shards to purchase them individually for cheaper prices.

How is it good or bad for you if you already own it. If you really just want to buy a single chapter, you have a month to do so, and they'll probably be dirt cheap right after Christmas.

Complaints?? By this community??

Any benefit towards overcoming the barrier of entry for this game is good. If an older player doesn't already have the content from the bundles then they either aren't a committed player or they are intentionally avoiding it.

this is actually good news for new players. People have no reason to hate but my guess is they don't want new players to dbd?
0 -
Why are they not supposed to to that when it’s literally the intended way of family sharing?
0 -
Older players paid full price for all these things and have nothing to show for it.
0 -
I don't think game companies endorse someone never buying a game or dlc but using the game or dlc for free. I don't have a problem with it but to complain to BHVR about it is weird to me because its obvious they wouldn't fix it even if they could

I'm an older player who paid full price and I've had years of entertainment and game progress. Wdym nothing to show?
1 -
They have fixed it before when family share wasn’t working as intended and didn’t have a problem with it at all.
0 -
They literally agreed to it when they entered into a distribution agreement with Steam. Family sharing has been around for years and is a well understood and codified system

All I have to say is I love your name 🤣🤣

Thanks 😅

The family share thing has already been fixed and dlc is no longer shareable. So not really relevant anymore.

nice name lol🤣

You really trying to gaslight people? Why is your best guess is "they don't want new players" because they have a different opinion?

So what you saying is that you either buy chapters which you already have, or you have to farm to buy from shards? How it is good for them?
Also with cells? Yeah, maybe it is cheaper. But can you buy the exact amount of cells? No you cant. You will have to buy more, so your money is wasted. And what you have left back from it is not enough for anything, so you have to buy more cells to be able to spend it. Just like in mobilegames...

If a new player wanted some characters like Feng and trickster for example and they spent ten bucks on auric cells they would still have 600 left so they can get two more characters of whoever they choose (as long as they meet the requirements) that's "two" chapters for three dollars more then a chapter would normally be.
That is so much better for newer players then you think it is

Buying a character for 4500 shards is a lot easier than 9000 shards. I don't understand what your problem is with the grind being reduced.

Thanks fellow aquatic creature :D

It's good and bad. It's awesome that all the older original characters will now be 4500 shards and 250 cells, makes it easier to actually grind for characters for free, which is great for new players.
Also for players who eventually want all the characters, it's no different having bundles of DLCs rather than individual ones. And if you -do- only want one or two, you can either save shards for em or just get em cheap with cells.
However, it does take away choice for people that want some characters but not others. If you want like half a bundle's characters and really don't care about the others, it kinda sucks.

And some bought them during a Steam sale. Not everyone pays full price for every game ever. Some people got the base game for free while others paid.
Those that paid didn't have to wait for a sale. Didn't need to wait years to enjoy something. Nobody should buy a game on day 1 and think, "Everyone better pay full price or I'll be pissed."

i feel we will be good friends:L)

Then I try to write it slover.
The problem is: you can deicide, that you buy a bundle when need only one DLC from it and wate your money, or you forced to farm for the character In many DLC you have 2, or 3 characters, which you have to buy one by one. Even tho it is cheaper in shards, you are still forced to use it for those instead of anything else, or you will waste your real money.

Yeah. But also a company should handle with more respect those, who are with them with way much longer time. At least i feel many time that just because I am here already since a long time, paid already a bunch of money it is not really important how I feel or something. It is just like when in WoW those, who do not subscribed get free months time to time, meanwhile those who constantly paid in every month get nothing. Even tho they were the ones, who let the company running
But to be honest we do not talk about day 1 players. At least I assume the problem is not that somebody is able to get cheaper a content. But the fact, that after that you need to waste money if you want only 1 or 2 DLC

How about those that paid full price but quit soon after? Did they stick with BHVR through and through? How long or how short you played does not matter. Really its the poor souls that paid full price right before a sale that could have some resentment. Not those that played and received value from their purchase.
If they bundle DLC and its overall cheaper then its a win for new players just coming in. Old players had many opportunities to purchase during sales over the years. They have time right now in fact. It's only the licensed DLCs that matter anyways. Original DLCs can be purchased ingame with or without money.

Another reason is because, if you're like me, you joined recently and simply bought the characters you wanted most first. Now, if I want every character dlc, I have to repurchase 75% of the characters I already have, and if I don't buy the dlc, anyone I share my console with can't use those characters. It's a lose-lose situation for anyone except new players

I actually just got back into PC gaming and started playing DBD again. Since it's been a while, I decided to check the DLC only to notice older chapters are now in bundles which is great for new players but when I checked the Macabre Tales pack, I saw it contains Descend Beyond, A Binding of Kin, All-Kill and Hour of the Witch for $20. I already have have Descend Beyond and A Binding of Kin meaning to get All-Kill and Hour of the Witch along with the DLC exclusive items from that pack, wouldn't that mean I would have to shell out $20 still?

You can always opt to buy the characters for auric cells in the in-game store.

Buying original characters with money seems like a waste to me. I got them all for shards, and took advantage of the few iri shard sales that happened sporadically on characters.
If you're a newer player and you want original characters, get them with shards. And if anniversary or halloween is coming and you're not in a rush, start saving up shards. All characters are 50% off with iri shards during those times.
I don't care that I spent more shards than new players will spend either. I'm just happy that the character grind is way better now for everyone.
